PLD was kicked because of attitude issues according to envy, he didn't give consistent effort and was being a pain to deal with. The Aui kick was much more puzzling because he was better as pld, but gave much more consistent effort and wasn't a toxic prick. Not sure bulldog is a good fit on c9 because EE always takes a ton of farm, and Fata often plays heavy farming heroes. You can't have three heavy farming cores plus farm you supports at a level that c9 often does, and bulldogs best offlaners are still heavier farming offlaners, where as Bone7 plays better on lower farming priority offlaners or ones that can jungle easily while giving lane to a support like bat lc or dark seer. So that means they would need to change up their play style again.
Aui and EE just didn't get along that well. Atleast that's how I imagine. It seemed like Aui didn't really agree on some drafting decisions with EE, wanted to be more involved with the in-game calls. And you know EE has a way of doing this, it's either his way or the highway kinda thing. It wasn't exactly a kick tho, they just didn't get along and I think Aui didn't notice that. He's not a bad player, they just approach the game from different perspectives.
Atleast this is how I see it from the outside.
disappointing games today, but this is factually incorrect.
EE's favorite player and best friend in old C9 was Aui. He has said this in interviews before. Aui has also specifically said that he talked to EE the most and that C9 is EE.

N0tail can do way better than C9 right now, he'll prolly jump ship as soon as its most opportune for him.
lol the same notail that came to C9 in the first place? what team is he going to jump ship to? lmao these fucking awful forum baddie analyses
Offer "analysis" that n0tail would want to stay on C9 after dealing with EE's decision making and drafts, roflmao.
Also, please don't mistake Johan approaching EE thinking that he had no ulterior motives other than to qualify for DAC.
Emnjay I like you buddy, but this is going a bit too far. Secret didn't look like world beaters when they first formed either; it takes time for a team to gel and I doubt that N0tail was going to reach out to Envy to just bounce in one tournament. That has never happened before unless the player was an explicit standin.
One bad series does not make a bad captain or team

Why are you calling Notail Johan as if you know him or something? You clearly don't know shit if you think he's gonna jump ship. Werent you the same guy that said youd ban yourself if Notail went to C9 because you were so sure he wasnt? It's not even like "EE's decision making and drafts" have been the major factor in their poor performances.
Misery played really awful in game 1 - but, honestly he has been more consistent than n0tail. I didn't expect the team to gel very well though with the new pick ups (especially the very technical way c9 plays), but I think the biggest issue is bone7.
He has been consistently bad for the past...5 or so LANs.
This wasn't shown properly on stream, but it was pretty interesting. Rotk actually cancelled bone7 and n0tail tping to BG base in the end for the race, and also then n0tail I guess accidentally moved his creeps away from T4 towers which caused EE to have to run to hit the buildings. It seems to me that if bone7 tp goes through and the Chen creeps hit the buildings and give Lycan the correct point to tp to, c9 actually wins that race. Or alternatively if rotk hits that hookshot, bone7 maybe could have used his spells better, now he seemed to run around a bit. His tornado was on cd, but I think he had aghs so he could run to the dusa, deaf blast her, wait until it runs out while maybe cold snapping bristle and hitting him to prevent attacks, and then hex the Dusa after.

I feel like bone7 could have delayed the base race better as well - his deafening blast didn't hit dusa. That's 4 seconds medusa couldn't attack. And at that point, you might as well through your face into the team.

Yea, but I'm not sure if in the heat of the moment bone7 mistakenly thought the illusion next to the Bristle was the real Medusa. But it definitely wouldn't have been that long they had to delay the ancient from falling, just a few seconds so the deafening blast hitting both Bristle and Medusa (which seems possible based on their positioning) as well as the hex followup may have been enough.
Actually also maybe laying down an ice wall near the ramp or behind the rax may have brought enough chaos and slowed the Medusa down when she runs towards the ancient. But oh well, things get pretty chaotic in that kind of a scenario.
If he looked at the projectile and damage(medusa's divine tick was clear as pure water) he would know what was the real medusa, that deafening blast was really really bad, I think he threw the skill randomly in the heat of the moment

exactly. he came to c9 because it was his best choice. it still is. nothing has changed. not a single pro player had anything but respect for envy. but i guess you should offer your managing services to notail u seem pretty sure of yourself LOL
You seem to know all the pros, want to give me some more inside info?
Yeah I'd like to see this too. What has he done to earn this 'respect'? Everytime the talk is on about him it's about some in-team drama or him going emo and doing rage quits on his stream.
What in-team drama? One can listen to Misery/n0tail interviews at DAC, Aui youtube video on breaking to the pro scene where he talks about EE, old PLD interview with Epi, whatever. His teammates always speak very positively about him. It's pretty pointless to make overly positive or negative claims about how c9 works when one can't possibly know from the outside, but every time people get interviewed they speak highly of EE. Also during the latest roster shuffle it became public that Arteezy asked EE to join EG after TI4, which would suggest that at least EG, the best western team at that time, also like him.
It seems pretty stupid to me overall that people are trying to make huge drama around c9 (not the guy I'm replying to but in general). They had a 8-7 group stage, threw a game today but it can happen. Tournament is not even over yet. 9th-12th would be rather disappointing, but beating EHOME and NaVi/HGT winner seems pretty realistic to me, and that would already bring top6.
^pretty much this
people see what they want to see. we've heard worse testimony from teammates about PPD than envy and the former is/was on a very winning team. this isn't private or secret information.
and me saying that there has been no public statements from players about how envy is toxic, bad, or overrated being interpreted as me having inside knowledge on all pro players just shows how far u morons are willing to dig.
I was only implying that you act like you know more than you do, I didn't actually take a stance. You are quite toxic overall buddy. You need to relax. You are as bad as ixmike while on the losing team of a pub game.

toxic would be coming into the cloud9 fan thread and spouting the same kick EE win TI5 memes trying to troll. no you didn't do that specifically or personally but you are choosing to single me out just because im pointing out how absurd it is to say those things in the first place.
someone just posted a whole thing about how Aui and Envy's relationship must be like based on nothing but his own personal ignorance which has now been refuted by actual testimony from those two and you're letting that slide? only i get the "you act like you know more than you do" lecture? what a joke go spew this sanctimonious shit elsewhere.
I'm pretty disappointed with C9 right now as it felt EG had the worst end of the trade (and it still feels like it). I thought they did terribly in groupstage because of the BO1 format but this bo3 shows the opposite. I'm confident about them beating their next opponent, but it feels like the tournament may end soon for them. I'm more convinced everyday by my "6.83 nerfed EE badly" theory.
Imo if c9 beat HGT and are guaranteed 5th-6th, that placing isn't even that bad. It wouldn't even be really far below expectations for the old lineup, not great but not a disaster either. 8-7 was the same group stage score c9 had at TI, but of course with the new lineup hopes are high and 8-7 doesn't look as good when there's Secret going 15-0 as opposed to the field being more even overall. Both group stages also had very different performances, for example at TI c9 beat EG, VG, iG etc in the groups but then lost to the Pudge of Fnatic. This time more of their disastrous games happened on that one day and against top8 teams, and they beat most of the teams below them.
If c9 get past HGT, at this time it's hard to see them beating Secret. But I guess we'll see how it goes tomorrow. At least 5th-6th place would sort of work for guaranteeing their TI invite, as it would mean that they are once again in the top3 of western teams in an event.
I'd agree that C9 winning vs HGT would likely secure their TI invite barring outrageous upcoming circumstances.
EG/Secret/C9 continue to be the CLEAR frontrunners of the Western scene (not really in that order I just listed them all). And while C9 is looking to be the definite 3rd place that isn't a big issue. Except that valve can't just snub CIS with 0 invites so expect at least 1 invite from them too which does make it a bit hairier.

Well, HR and PR can make arguments that they are in VPP's league as well, I think empire is a step behind personally. The issue is that it's hard to invite one of those teams over the others. The easiest invite is probably Na'Vi as huge fan favourites and past champions but they exceeded expectations this tournament and still came 9-12th which isn't exactly invite-tier.
EE interview with Hotbid. The recorder's shit(LD said they swapped it out after day 1), so it can be kind of hard to understand.
I enjoyed the interview, but the part with aui and the supports bugged the hell out of me; a large part of me wishes that they went to SL11; the old roster would have had a strong chance of winning sigh
We were also so close to having my ideal C9 EE RTZ Bone7 Aui PLD

EE + arteezy would have been the real shit .. they seem to really like playing together
it's not a shame though rtz went to a extremely stacked team so it's ok
