You would have thought the classic greed style would have played into this meta. Whatever plays he may make, if not a single player on the team is able to take an advantage out of it and maintain it, it will just be dust in the wind. Edit: The impact he had in ST was tied to how the team capitalized his plays.

N0tail can do way better than C9 right now, he'll prolly jump ship as soon as its most opportune for him.

On the positive side for c9 it's not like they got dumpstered by BG, they lost the first game themselves by playing the base pushes really poorly (and also giving some free kills before pushing base which give a lot of xp and gold with that kind of a lead). Second game forcing a push wasn't that simple because BG had decent counter push, big ults if c9 get caught, and good split push. But still c9 players had good farm and could win fights, the problem was just that they stopped finding good initiations for the fights. There were like 3-4 fights in the end of the game where bone7 popped his BKB, blinked in (although once he even double tapped his blink and blinked towards his base) and then wasn't in range to duel and just ran around. Not that it's always easy to find the good LC initiation when the draft really relies on you the find the right target, but anyway the initiations were disastrous in the last few fights.

Also, please don't mistake Johan approaching EE thinking that he had no ulterior motives other than to qualify for DAC.

༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つKICK BONE7༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ I'm not sure if I should feel bad or angry about Bone7, but I have played with a lot of players in pubs who can play better than he did in this tournament. Cloud9 has some serious issues to fix, which can't be blamed entirely on Bone7 alone though.

The Aui kick was much more puzzling because he was better as pld, but gave much more consistent effort and wasn't a toxic prick. Not sure bulldog is a good fit on c9 because EE always takes a ton of farm, and Fata often plays heavy farming heroes. You can't have three heavy farming cores plus farm you supports at a level that c9 often does, and bulldogs best offlaners are still heavier farming offlaners, where as Bone7 plays better on lower farming priority offlaners or ones that can jungle easily while giving lane to a support like bat lc or dark seer. So that means they would need to change up their play style again.

Everytime the talk is on about him it's about some in-team drama or him going emo and doing rage quits on his stream.

This is ALL they did and as a result, their team fight suffered. It's painfully obvious what their strat is. Space creating hero for mid and offlane hence the weird bullshit strat with the bot first bat offlane. This is the reason why Puppey, Icex3 and every other competent Chinese team say and do counter C9.

One can listen to Misery/n0tail interviews at DAC, Aui youtube video on breaking to the pro scene where he talks about EE, old PLD interview with Epi, whatever. His teammates always speak very positively about him. It's pretty pointless to make overly positive or negative claims about how c9 works when one can't possibly know from the outside, but every time people get interviewed they speak highly of EE. Also during the latest roster shuffle it became public that Arteezy asked EE to join EG after TI4, which would suggest that at least EG, the best western team at that time, also like him. It seems pretty stupid to me overall that people are trying to make huge drama around c9 (not the guy I'm replying to but in general). They had a 8-7 group stage, threw a game today but it can happen. Tournament is not even over yet. 9th-12th would be rather disappointing, but beating EHOME and NaVi/HGT winner seems pretty realistic to me, and that would already bring top6.

It seemed like Aui didn't really agree on some drafting decisions with EE, wanted to be more involved with the in-game calls. And you know EE has a way of doing this, it's either his way or the highway kinda thing. It wasn't exactly a kick tho, they just didn't get along and I think Aui didn't notice that. He's not a bad player, they just approach the game from different perspectives. Atleast this is how I see it from the outside.
