C9 really needed Aui's calming influence. The way he plays makes C9 not go rush in doing impulsive, stupid things. EE got the grass is greener mistake, like a kid, discarding the old reliable ones for the shiny new things.

So what was the main problem today? Bad drafts? The team losing its motivation because of the game against EHOME they should've won and the embarrassing loss against Techies? Bad performance by their three core players (I think Misery and N0tail did quite well most of the time)?

This day was tough. I really hope they'll get their sh*t together and play like in their first two DAC games again. And EE really should draft ET/ES/Disruptor for N0tail and Rubick for Misery way more often (although Chen and Lion are fine, too). Oh yeah, and bone7 really has to stop his bad plays. He showed how good he can play on day one with his Batrider, pls no more 3+2+2...

The only in-meta offlaner Bone can play is Bat which is banned. I think notail is on mega-tilt (failed relocates against EHOME, hand of god during rosh sneak). Also wisp is banned, and c9 doesn't want to pick ES. Misery has had off-games, but mostly he has delivered. EE and bone keep going into suicidal split-push mode when they are behind, instead of trying to split-push intelligently as a team (get wards up, coordinate advantageous fights, etc).

Most importantly, they had too high expectations based on scrim results, and the heroes they thought were good (sniper, beastmaster, LC, troll) don't seem to work to well against Axe, Jugg, SF.

I think yesterday against BG their draft wasn't really the issue, they just completely screwed up early game with bone7 feeding lvl 1 and then not being able to go back to lane, Misery feeding a kill to Bat solo, EE getting the return kill and dying himself for it, 4 man ganking Alch mid who then gets a bit lucky and suicides because he was stunned while his own stun ended brewing etc. That game should have been EE with complete free farm, them moving Veno to offlane after a while to spam wards and Nyx getting levels and farm mid, and then BG have 2 squishy supports + squishy Naga for Nyx to hunt. Instead Lion had a blink really early, Bat had a blink really early, supports have money for detection while bone7 is under leveled, Alch has a shadow blade, which forced c9 to play really scared.

Against NaVi their draft probably had a rather small window, and they missed it I think because Fata died in some fights and his blink got pretty delayed with Puck and they couldn't aggressively force fights due to that. And later on finding a good fight was really hard as their initiation was largely countered by Abaddon and they didn't really have anymore the damage to just burst everyone on NaVi with right clicks.

Against HR draft was pretty strange and they died on both solo lanes (although granted the Jugg vs Axe lane is terrible but still it probably went worse than it needed to), but then still the xp and gold were actually even with HR making some errors and feeding with their supports, EE even had decent farm, Slardar was close to a blink. Then they did the rosh which actually was pretty smart, showing all 3 of their cores and roshing with the supports, but it got revealed with the hand of god (they probably could have used the Jugg healing ward from bottom lane to assist with the rosh if they needed healing), and Axe jumped in just in time to get the rosh last hit with a spin and then HR got 3 kills and the game turned into a disaster.

But good for c9 that they got the two wins they needed today. The middle pack is pretty close, and nothing is really lost for them. It's still completely in their own hands to win some games and get even 5th-6th or something if they manage to go either undefeated or lose only 1 game. Top8 (possibly some sort of a tiebreaker) probably requires something like 8-7.

Overall I wouldn't draw too many conclusions yet about how the new c9 will do. Yesterday was a terrible day, and EE's drafting wasn't really helping the team either. But on the other two days they had 4 pretty easy wins and 1 game against EHOME which was in their hands but they messed it up. Assuming they get top8 or at least top12, they have some time before the main event to go over drafts, get some practice and figure out what they want to do.

^I think its good in a way. The 5 loss streak kind of takes the focus away from them and teams will be less prepared for them and possibly underestimate them.

Now if only Bone7 can play a hero other than Bat without relentlessly feeding kills then they may stand a chance. Even his offlane skywrath 1 v 1 vs Rave's jakiro was a feedfest, dying 3 times in a row. He was the only one who fed kills in that one sided stomp.

Man, Bone7 must have been pretty rattled when Aui and pld were kicked. He's playing so poorly, he must be wondering if he'll be kicked next. EE will probably do so, then when EE's the only original C9 member, he'll be gone too. Worst comes to worst he won't get invited to TI5. D:

From a non c9 perspective: literally nothing. For fucks sake Zai's playing a better offlane and he's only been at it for like a month (granted he played it long ago but still)

zai is playing pretty fucking well though

both as a farming offlane and a space creating offlane ... it's actually ridiculous
