Rumors that N0tail and Misery will be joining, which would indicate they're shedding someone other than Aui. It's obviously not EE and Fata confirmed a while back that he's not leaving.

PLD may be playing with H4nn1, w33, fly and Xcalibur.
The predicted change is Misery and Notail in, with Aui and Pie out.
I think this would make them stronger. I think that what the team has been lacking recently is skill of execution at the support positions.
I don't mean that Aui and Pie are bad, clearly they are good solid players who fit in with the team. But they are rarely match-winningly good either. Other than Aui's visage they are rarely ban targets. They are reliable at stacking the jungle, and keeping good positioning in teamfights. But both Notail and Misery can pull off some seriously good plays.
The risk is that losing established cogs destabilises the team. Aui especially seems like a model teammate. Sometimes the "teammanship" skill is underrated in a workplace, it really makes a difference to getting a team working smoothly. I find it hard to believe Aui was kicked, and the fact he has found his way to EG suggests he made his own choice. But based on the net result of the rotations, I still think this is a net positive for C9 as long as they can work as a team with the new support duo.

Indeed there are a lot of factors at play and it isn't easy to say whether a team will improve, change is always somewhat of a risk. I think there is a good chance that the top3 teams may be the same in the west, it just is a question of who wins the games in the semi finals and finals this time. Aui at EG may be interesting though, as I agree with you that he seems like a pretty good teammate and is also used to practicing a lot with c9, so he may be pushing EG towards that direction. A good atmosphere and a lot of practice may keep EG strong as well.
As far as c9 goes, in my opinion with the old support duo c9 suffered in the early game compared to Secret and EG for example. You can even give them the same heroes, let's say n0tail ET vs Aui ET, or n0tail/PPD ES vs Aui/PLD ES, or n0tail wisp vs PLD wisp, and I feel in the early game Secret/EG supports get far more work done. Similar story with Misery I think as well, as my impression of him is also that he is very good in his early rotations.
But also the old support duo had their strengths. Firstly they played together for a long time (bone7/EE/PLD played together for over 20 months, Aui also was with them for like 16 months), so they must have got along in and outside the game pretty well. In game for example farming efficiently and constantly splitpushing and spreading the map was very natural to Aui, whereas it might not be the same for the new players. At times this was a very positive thing with the way c9 played their games, his Visage being the best example. But there were also other times when I think the natural tendencies of a player sort of made the team not use certain heroes optimally, for example at the Summit when Aui played Omniknight he found himself several times on the other side of the map just farming away while the team was looking to take fights (and Omni being pretty much the best hero for those skirmishes). I think their playstyle will switch a bit, it will definitely be interesting to see.
I was sad enough when they kicked Sing but now with Aui and Pie gone it's just not even C9 anymore. Aui was a huge part of most of their pocket strats and I'm sure PLD was still helping with theory crafting/drafting. I think c9 is easily getting the short end of the stick between EG/Secret/C9 and if they don't get notail it's gonna be ugly.
Why did Aui_2000 had to go? I am </3. After Secret C9 was my fav team (and I hated, EG). So now I am left with no one to cheer for. Hope H4nn1 gets a new team running.
didn't expect it to be aui out of the people who could get kicked from c9. i suppose the rest of the team felt like they needed a more active support duo? really interested in what aui and pie have to say now
Holy crap .. Pld getting kicked that I expected .. Aui however wow although of course getting kicked is rough .. But with all the praises aui thrown ee recently .. They have bad blood but it'll be over soon like rotk and burning or probably not
EE is gonna be the new loda .. Everybody is gonna hate him whether it be justifiable or not
Well, people will only dislike EE more if he doesnt explain his reasoning. Left open to interpretation, the easiest one being EE is a dick, most people will believe that and dislike him more and more.
