thanks a lot. its still the same, the only stuff to look out for is no more goblin farm @ A2.If ur gears are arent good then do the runs in A1 which they repeated the steps 123123 times, otherwise A3 siege breaker. so it's no more worth to do elite runs in act 2? like VotA, etc. ? i can't farm a3 yet so i guess i'll stick to a2 since a1 drops shit

Highly recommend the Northern Highlands (? the one after spidy) in Act1 for the cave of the moonclan. 2 Levels, can spawn up to 4 packs and 1 gobo lvl1, 2 packs 1 gobo 1 resplen lvl2. The cave is allways there. Also the road up to the cave can have up to 5 packs and a gobo. Theres also a random range of events , some with a pack, sometimes the lyceum (up to 3 packs).
Also nice to get ur paragon up since its pretty packed with mobs

hmmm... i did cemetery of the forsaken - warden - butcher runs yesterday all day, and i haven't got a single worthy rare.
i'll try your way with the northern highlands and if that won't work out so well after 10 runs, i'll try the VotA runs in act 2.
thanks

You misunderstood, ofcourse it's worth to do elite runs in A2 and VotA is still awesome. A2 is a WHOLE other world than A3 in terms of difficulty, and the mobs people complain about are easily countered.
E.g. the cloaking Naga you need to be aware of, and start running back (if you are ranged ofc) as soon as they cloak. After a while and some trial and error, you can "bait" them out of the cloak while moving safely out of their melee range. Over time you even learn to time their re-appearance so good you can pop your "oh shit" skills just as they spawn.
A1 is utter shit imo, the amount of lvl 51-59 items there makes it a really sad place to farm, if you are at all able to do A2.

What is a good location for those who are struggling to progress in Act 2 but in need of better gear? Is it act 1 farming worthwhile?
|
Well you kinda have no choice I'd say?
Some claim A3 is "easier" than A2, but I don't agree with that. A3 stuff just has so much more HP and damage, that you will die too much if you are unable to farm A2 efficiently.

and yeah, i think i wasted my time trying to farm act 1 since the drops are crap. i'll try with the northern highlands though. if the drops are still crap i'll move to act 2 VotA, alcarnus, etc. elite runs.
thanks

Why would you do A1 then? What's the point when item levels are so low? Sure it's the fastest choice, but I still don't think its worth it at all.
If I were you I'd probably try to sacrifice about 50% of the AR, or even more, to gain 10-20k dmg and farm A2 at a reasonable rate.

A1 is the most viable option for Legendry farming (if such a thing exists). 250-300 MF gear plus 75 MF from NV will yield better legendry drop chance compared to more DPS less MF gear variants in later acts.
|
Yeah but since the good legendaries are item level 62-63, won't it be about the same gain between A1 MF runs and A3 no mf, considering how much more A3 drops?

can you tell me what items do i need to get for increasing my dps? (or you can pm me if you can time. or you can add me at skiesoflust#2586 in game if you're playing on EU) one month and a half ago i got frustrated on the game and i sold everything on real money so now when i came back, my budget is small now ~7m.
what i have on myself is ~5m worth of gear that i bought two days ago. i have some of my mf gear on for farming act 1 on my bnet profile, but you can still see the majority of the items.
thanks.

I've been bouncing between acts 1-3 on my monk with 286 base MF (lvl 9) and have found a grand total of 2 crappy 1.04 legendaries. So much good rare gear is out on the AH now that it should be very easy to farm whatever act you want. Farming legendaries however is just frustrating as the drop rate is so low MF or not. Since launch I've gotten a grand total of 2 set items >_>

I don't think i should be giving too much advice on monk gear, since i've never played one myself in retail, but if my DH was geared about the same way as your Monk, i'd probably scrap all of the MF stuff and go for dex - critdmg / crit - vita - all res, in that order.
If you only go for 2 stats, or 3 stats it really should not cost too much getting gear which enables you to piss on A2.
Don't know how much AR you need as monk in A2 / A3 but i'm doing A3 with my DH with like 180 average res and 2400 armor, and can sometimes take a hit from a Phase Beast.

Its still random, i run with 0 MF and I get a legendary every day on average pretty much with 4h per day

I think Act 3 Keep Depths run up to Ghom is really good farming spot. Relatively short and lots of packs and good high level drops (most are ilvl 61+).
|
Is this a good route for A3? If not, what is the preferred route? It seems insanely long to be efficient...
Route: Heart of Sin/Sin Heart -> restart game until Fortified Bunker spawns, clear Fortified Bunker -> take dungeon TP to Arreat Gate, full clear including any dungeons -> Skycrown Battlements -> Stonefort -> Keep Depths 1/2/3 -> Rakkis Crossing (check for Underbridge), clear back to Killing Fields -> Tower of the Cursed clear to Cyd/Azmo
|
If you can stack a crap ton of MF and can't do A2/A3 easily, do Warrior's Rest. If you start a new quest, you can get a checkpoint at the entrance of the cave. Clear the elite in 15 seconds, TP out, and remake the game. You can get a full inventory of items in less than 15 minutes.
I like farming the keep depths. Got 2 legendary items from there so far.. Skeletons are really easy to clear, just pray that you don't find elite lickers..
