Well, it is nice to have goals! Although I think your gear level has made you lose a little perspective on costs. The cheapest Tyrael's with vitality and halfway decent intelligence is 30 million, and that would still be a significant EHP downgrade from my current chest with all its vitality and life%! Hats are definitely cheaper, I can probably find something decent in the 3-6 million range without sacrificing too much damage. And sources with AP on crit also seem much more reasonably priced than when I looked a month or so ago.
to be effective at the moment, you need another item with ap on crit; either a source or wizard hat. Because of new legendaries it is really easy to find a great rare source/hat with crit + apoc + int (+socket for hat).
after you got this item, you can drop astral presence for blur for more survivability. Try bone chill instead of deep freeze as well then.
next thing is upgrading your gear to get more all res: cheap tyraels might with int/vit will get you 70+ all res and cap movement speed, which is a great aid; pants and boots are missing all res at the moment, and should be easy to upgrade. bracers are really poor in terms of all stats;
so there you go; armor (70); boots (50+); pants (50+); bracers (50+) - will give you 200+ all res; so you will make better use of prismatic and have around 1k @; 2 items with apoc will allow you to constantly spam the cds without running out of ap; and you will clean with ease and will not die.
after that you should aim to upgrade individual items for the similar version but better stats.

I have +24% elemental damage in total. I then add the source's minimum to the weapon's minimum, same with the max. Then I multiply the minimum by 1.48. I input all of this, my int, crit, IAS, etc. into a DPS calculator (the wizard dps equivalence google doc) and get 91950 instead of the 93361 on my stat sheet. Anyone know what I'm doing incorrectly?
afaik the bonus of triumvirate and other items is calculated based of 2*mindamage instead of 1*average damage. so the higher the spread between your min and max dam, the less effective this source of damage will become.
say you get 15% elemental damage added and have 500-1100 damage. then the elemental bonus you get would be 0.15*2*500 = 150. as your average damage is 800 in that case, +150 damage is more than a 15% increase.
Ok, yesterday i tested this out. i bought 2 cheapo blue rings with no offensive stats other than 35-60 damage and 30-65 damage, stripped off all my gear except the triumvirate and the stormcrow and slotted in first one ring then the other.
The damage was exactly the same with both rings.
Conclusion: % damage to element is calculated through the average damage not the min damage. a higher min damage is better because it increases your average more than max, but max is used in he calculations too and in a weapon both are factored in the fnal dps anyways.
hmm, maybe the "adds x% elemental damage" mod is indeed only applied to the weapon damage itself and doesnt include rings, amulets and maybe not even the sources...
Im not certain, but im pretty sure it does. I switched my 4cc% +25 cd% ring for a 4cc% + 60 avrg dmg amd because i was gaining 3k dps over the critical damage one, that must have been the % to elemental damage in my gear.

well AR is also ehp, but since ur going to regear yourself in many defensive slots u could might aswell redistribute that vitality among the new gear, u even have some margin too loose some vit and still stay over 30k.
Im saying that coz i myself am looking for a good buy on a tyraels and the ones with high int but no vit are less than half the price. I have alreardy added some vit on the last piece of gear i got to be able to remove the int in my chest and still stay over 30k.
Why go for Tyrael's for the runspeed? The way I see it, it's:
Tyrael's + rare bracers vs Tal Rasha's Relentless Pursuit + Lacuni Prowlers.
Ultimately, with good rolls on everything, you have roughly the same defensive stats on both setups, but the second pair will give you up to 18% attack speed and the first gives you 10% demon damage and 3.5% elite damage. Attack speed wins pretty hard, no?
where as i already have some decent legendary bracers with cc and armour so i can just invest in a tyraels. mybe when i get this uber drop i can regear, untill then this is the only viable option.
can some clarify for me what type of weapon a triumvirate adds the most damage to. i have one with + min +max and + dam%, does it work better wit this type or one with + elemental damage?

Your weapon works fine. The "Adds +X% to <element> damage" affix only works on physical damage, not on elemental damage. A weapon with purely physical damage - like yours - is the way to go.
It's a bit low on the bonus damages but the int is nice. I got a 200int, 15% to demos and 4% to elites for 10m in trade chat. It pays to idle in that channel.
yeah i basically paid the premium for the high int, could have probably gotten a 170-180 int one for around 10mill or so, but i still think that they are usually asking more than 20 mill for 250 int versions, at least thats what ive been seeing in the eu auction house this last week if been lurking it.
anyways u got a pretty good deal on yours for sure.
The build revolves around reducing the attack speed of your enemy. It's weakness is frozen and fire chains due to the stuns. I play softcore and the gear is cheap on my end. I ran about 30k hp and 12k dps with 900 loh and a decent shield in a2. Once I hit a3 I had to ramp everything up. 1200LoH, 55k hp, 18k dps, 900 regen but i rarely die in a3.
Nova gives you breathing room, archon is for the middle of a battle if your struggling, RoF is your go to and you can periodically cast arcane bombs without hurting the channeling dps too much. Arcane procs LoH and reduces speed by double of RoF. Use blades if you are out of energy or proc the nova rune or have 15+% crit chance and need extra health.
But like I say, i don't know how expensive this kind of gear would cost and you need 12% ranged reduction. I look for it on shields and chest armor.
Aight guys, here it goes. Came back to playing again after a loooong break, sold half of my gear and all cash on RMAH. Been farming a bunch but I feel like I'm getting nowhere.
Usually I'm just farming crypt of the ancients. Over and over, for now it yields best gold and xp for me. So the 2 questions I need answered now are: - Should I keep farming how I farm or try other things(can to act3 but it's pretty damn slow)? - What items should be on my update-priority list nao?(got like 6 mil in the bank :<)

Some of the pieces you have are worth ~100k, so upgrading should be dead easy.
I wouldn't change your wand for a while, it's quite good already, but since you're poor, you could try out a good 2handed Mace with 5%+ Life steal, socket and crit damage for ~1M, this should boost your dps massively and help with survivability, and you won't be as AP starved as you are right now.
I would definitely look for a source with similar damage and int stats but with crit chance >7% (they're super cheap ~200-500k), if you want to keep the wand. Add in 8+ APOC for an extra mill (absolutely worth it, since you have no APOC on the wand). This will let you spam more arcane orbs and will make your transition to a nova build/archon build much easier. (this is probably the most expensive upgrade)
Pick up a storm crow for the easy 10 APOC (they go for like 100k), +7% elemental damage and 400 LoH. Storm crows with sockets are way more expensive, so you'll have to farm a bit until you can afford it, but you will definitely notice the APOC.
I would drop your ias rings for Int/3cc/30cdamage (no more than 500-600k each) since you're running an Orb build and you're probably AP starved all the time.
Belt and bracers are good, but you can do much better for under 1M on your chest, have a look in the AH, should be a fairly easy upgrade.
Those are probably the cheapest upgrades you can get right now. With the money you have right now in the bank, you should be able to farm Vault of the Assasin with no problems, and i would recommend doing some minor tweaks to your AO build:
If you get ~20 AP on crit and crit chance ~30-35%, drop piercing orb and add sparkfling familiar, you won't be so AP starved. I would also change the teleport/fracture to teleport/calamity and add in illusionist passive instead of glass cannon. This lets you knock enemies around for 265% weapon damage and works quite well against the serpents in VotA.

Hey, thanks for your input I really appreciate it. But from the looks of it you might've overlooked the prices. I've checked the prices on offhands, and an offhands with similar stats to mine +8 APOC and 7 CC start from 4kk. Rings 50int/3cc/30cd 1,5kk. Storcrow seems to be about right. About chestpiece, is it even worth buying a chest with only int/vit and sockets, shouldn't I try to score one with all resist? Or will 1.05 damage reduction nullfiy the need for such a big resistbase?

Whatever you do, remember that resist is imba. Going from 0 to 300 resall will double your EHP

As I said, the offhand is probably the most expensive piece to upgrade in there. You can find stuff with 8CC, 8 APOC and decent damage for about 1.5-2M if you're patient and willing to go through a lot of sources (if only they could be sorted by damage.....) Chest, scoring something with AR is obviously a good choice if you can find one cheap, but what I meant is that you can get a substantial upgrade on what you have right now for not much money (basically your chest is more or less worth ~100k or less).
You're right about the rings, I was looking at the price i bought mine, and I got them for ~1M, for some reason i remembered them cheaper. They are still worth it if you're doing a build centered on Arcane Orb or nova/twister.
You will gain a lot more dps for a LOT less money (1-2M) if you go the 2hander route right now, as in 60-80k dps with no glass cannon. They're that cheap. The best way to score good deals on weapons I have found is to sort them out by time remaining and just make a regular bid. You can find seriously cheap stuff this way, especially if they're not top of the line (i.e. won't be on most people's first page of results).

How is farming act1 coming along? Have you measured how much xp/hour you get?
If you get bored of it, spend a million gold and start farming act3:
EDIT: Disregard this, stormchaser is getting hit with the nerfbat hard next patch, heh. Above spec will be completely nonviable now!
