It kinda plays like a barbarian but with shorter cooldowns and higher dps. I'm currently farming act I and trying to kill Belial in act II (still have some low level gears and can't pass Belial with that )

current weap:
(1h axe)
759.2 dps
402-766 dmg
1.30 speed
+13 min damage
+236-485 holy damage
+255 int
+95 vit
+47 crit damage %

buyable weap:
(1h sword, 1.4 attack speed)
837.3 dps
381-815 dmg
+276-571 fire damage
+81 dex
+186 int
+64 vit
+58 crit damage %

as you can see I gain a ton of DPS, but I lose some stats. is this a worthwhile upgrade or should I keep saving for something better?

about 3 mil, my old can probably sell for 1-1.5 mil

Basically I just can't decide on upgrading my weapon, because whenever I do go up DPS wise I would usually be losing a ton of Int because my current has 250+

Edit: didn't see the int on the second weapon.

In that case, the second one is slightly better, but I doubt the upgrade is worth it for the price of 3 mil though.

It's a difference of 70 int but yeah that's barely an upgrade. Also no way that's worth 3mil.

i used mainly blizzard/hydra before, but sometimes it feels like things just dont die quickly enough. so I'm using AO with tap the source as I'm also using Illusionist over Astral Presence (less mana, insane surivability due to being able to port whenever you take dmg).


That's pretty much what I'm using as well, switching between Astral and Illu...It's a really solid build, and I'm not really a fan of blizz/hydra build so I've been using this for clearing all of A3/A4 so i think it's a really good build.

Assuming your off hand has 300 dps and you have 1800 int then:
Current Weapon (837.3+300) * (18.00+1.86) = 22586
New Weapon (759.2+300) * (18.00+2.55) = 21766

If your off hand does more damage or if you don't have that much int the old weapon will become relatively better than the numbers show. Also, i think the weapon with a faster attack speed will gain a bigger boost from the off hand then the slower one.

Well, the skill you switched out is the key to insta kill the AO clone, the clone always spawns close to you, you just hit WoF to stun him and teleport, if you are lucky and he is the Orb one, he one shots himself with the reflected orb. First time this happens I even thought it was a bug, because I couldnt figure out why Diablo ported away and reappeared with no clone in between, till i realized he just vaporized himself with AO.
I have 39k HP, 38k dps and around 300ish Resists. Diablo is just about dodging and playing concentrated, the first few times I got overconfident and he punished me with a cage port to the face on phase 3.
Phase 2 is a bitch to avoid his teleport too, cuz the kiting space is so close to edges and you cannot erase mistakes as easily as in phase1 or 3 due to the 2 healing wells.

What I did was to Wormhole teleport 3-4 times in a straight line every time I saw shadow Diablo begin to blink out (it occurs at set intervals of his hp, so you have a pretty good idea of when to get ready for it) and the arcane orb clone would always spawn about 1-2 teleport jump distance away from me so it was dodgable.

Quick Question: Why does Mammoth Hydra exist? Is it superior in ANY way to ANY other Hydra?

is there a big difference when it comes to hp in that fight ?
my new sorc is at ~31k hp, 53k dps, ~350ish on resists.worth giving it a shot or waste of time?

I am finally able to progress in act 2 inferno!

I was sort of stuck after magda, in terms that farming was very slow costing me more than i was gaining. Well i still gotta skip or remake on certain affix combo of elites specially in closed and narrow maps, but i guess thats pretty normal.

my specs are:

30k dps (though its actually 15% higher due to one of my runes that doesnt get accounted for in the spec sheet.)
22k hp
5,8k armour
450-500 resists
1,52 attack speed
12% moove speed
28% crit chance
1.3 crit damage

and im using the following build wich is working for me quite well.

It is based around arcane damage on arcane hydra and arcane torrent with temporal flux, so everything slows, plus 15% damage increase from the disruption rune to all arcane damage ( must hit with arcane torrent so hydra benefits aswell), for offence. Diamond skin and teleport fracture with ilusionist for defence. DS lets me tank a bit when i want to turret trash mobs with AT, besides letting me tank (without taking the damage) the hit that will reset my teleport cooldown via illusionist. Astral presence is obviously ofr more AP since FA nerfs it, but will change it to critical mass to lower ds cooldowns, i crit a ton with so many attaks ( 3 per click on AT and 3 per hydra shot) once i get some viable Ap on crit + Max ap on my gear. Shame that finding an offhand with that + at least not lowering my dps is sooo damn expensive and hard to find.

I tried using it with conflagration passive and familiar:sparkflint for playing in party with some glass cannon geared DHs and a tanky monk since I felt that their damage was so much better than mine that tanking my invididual damage and playing support to give them both +10% might be worth it.

I'd recommend trashing that arcane build and just going blizzard/hydra if you want to progress tbh. I was running some 100% offensive build myself and got stuck in act2 because everything just oneshot me and I couldn't kite properly, blizzard/hydra got me well into act3. Should be noted that I have a grand total of 50 +allres, 20k dps and 30k hp. My gear blows balls and I'm not finding any upgrades, but it doesn't really matter with IWIN blizzhydra.

Oh and force weapon does get taken into account on your character sheet.
Theres a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

ehm im actually doing ok now, so i wasnt actually asking for a recomendation. ive played with bliz/hydra and i prefer and have more fun with an ao/hydra at/hydra build. So thanks, but im sticking to my style for now.

I dont get one shoted, i get 3 or more shotted, except to some very specific attaks that are easily avoidable. But to make FA and DS work in inferno u must have some decent armour and resists.

Yeah i know force weapon is accounted for in the caracter sheet, i was refering to the disruption rune in arcane torrent ( takes 15% more damage to aracne for x secs) which both my offensive skills take benefit from. actually the stats i posted are with FA and FW.

Anyone else farming Azmo runs using wormhole?

I used to run fracture all the time but I get stuck on special mobs such as fast soul ripper in ivory tower and my game is done.

Anyone else get stuck with theses type of monsters or you manage to get by with only 1 teleport?

There are no soul rippers on an azmodan run. The only thing that can be abit annoying are phasebeasts with bad affixes, but you can either pull those up the stairs, die/go out, use the way point, and run the other way, or if you have enough room and 25% ms and they are not fast, just kite them to death. My standard run starts at the "the second heart" quest, you get cydaea with 3-5 stacks usually,(you might get the missing stacks somewhere else if you want to), and Azmodan almost always with 5. I see no need for wormhole, and fracture is usually more useful because of enemies spending time hitting your clones and allowing you to cast more.
