It could catch on though, go fast tanks to counter the hydras and instead the zerg went mutas and you don't have enough ground force to control them or vice versa. Time will tell! | ||

I'm very worried by this, however As you can see there are some issues with Protoss vs. Terran in many of the leagues. From our own play experience, as well as feedback from the community, this matches pretty closely with what we're already aware of. We're working on solutions. They're thinking about nerfing Protoss (or buffing Terran) based on leagues under diamond. I don't like this at all, I always thought PvT was fairly balanced, maybe with Terran requiring a slight nerf, say, to the Marauder. I won't rage and proclaim my immediate deserting of Protoss - I'll wait and see what this nerf (or Terran buff) actually consists of. But I am a little worried. | ||

My newbie thoughts on the changes: It seems like Blizzard has pretty much given up on the reaper, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Also, the supply first requirement seems unnecessary, but we'll see how it plays out. This thread actually has started to convince me that the top players only forum wouldn't be such a bad thing. I just skimmed for big names like Jinro and Zelniq and ignored pretty much everyone else. Of course, the poor people who have to moderate this thread don't get that luxury. | ||

Depending on by how much they increase the range this will mean pretty big trouble for most FE builds and we have just got another marauderlike unit - GREAT T_T (tankish unit with good range and dps to clarify) | ||

I'm liking the other changes or at least wanting to try them. But that one just feels like they are knee-capping terrans. I want them to make the changes but please don't do that one :o | ||

The reaper speed upgrade will require the Factory, which is meant to weaken a lot of the early terran reaper attacks that dominate so many matches, especially in team games. TEAM GAMES!!! THEY ARE TAKING TEAM GAMES INTO ACCOUNT FOR 1v1 BALANCE. the title of the article is "Developer's Corner: 1v1 Game Balance" and they are using TEEEAAAMM GAMMMEEESS to justify things... team games. | ||

In fact, a Roach only has 20% higher DPS than 2 workers. | ||

They build a weird new unit and call it the Reaper. But wait, the reaper rush is too strong. So Blizzard's plan is to nerf the reaper into oblivion so now nobody will use it. This way their mistake just becomes an unpopular strategy. Reapers are useless as it is mid-late game. As if the 5 sec build time wasn't enough for the other races to stop it, they might as well just remove the unit from the game. | ||

Reapers after factory will be more then useless, if he got 1 tank, its game over, i dont see how reapers could be used anymore, basicaly they reduced the cost of nitro pack in beta cause people wasnt using repears enuff, a good plan with be to make it 150/100 or something like that. i REALLY dont see myself starting reapers AFTER i made a fac.. i mean come on, ill just use dropship play and forget reapers altogether. this will also mean that a terran with 2/3 barracks opening with techlab is OBVIOUSLY marauders early push,dont even have to worry about your cliffs, he cant make reapers if you dont see his factory. and i never got scared of reapers coming AFTER i see a factory... i think increased cost or time on packs and increased roach range would be just fine. As for the barrack after suply depot, if you want to stop players from going early rax into reapers, just add supply depot to REAPERS requirments, not depot for a barrack, the doesnt sound like right at all, i very rarely put my barrack before my depot, but my opponent doesnt know that. thats the way it should be, that sounds like giving zergs pool a 10 drone requirment, doesnt sound right. Edit ; I DO think zerg needs a buff, i guess they have to try shit out tho, we just wait and see, im down with any changes they officialy make . | ||

Correlation, not causation. Pretty sure Reapers dominating Zerg was what made the changed, the fact that it also helped with Team games probably made the change abit easier to make. | ||
