Quite an interesting viewpoint on the Protoss race. I will say that while the stories haven't been the best of any vieo game I've ever played, it does feel like Blizzard can make the gameplay of the campaigns pretty fun. The Terran one felt like a desperate struggle, and the Zerg one felt like you were invincible after you gathered enough momentum. The Protoss one will probably have a "4gate very single map" challenge.

All I can say is I found HotS story really cheesy though Yeah, I see why they wanted to try the "control a hero" route the whole time but it just didn't follow WoL well. I think RTS campaigns should be more similar to the way multi-player works. Also, I really liked that WoL had a few protoss missions thrown in. Could have been cool to have some terran or protoss missions thrown into hots...

Ha ha ha ! If I read well into the interview, it sounds more like "reach tech + max army into 1-A" challenge though

It felt really shallow and kinda weird. It would've been nicer to see them fight a little differently, or be the equivalent of Terran mercenaries.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there's been some sort of "corruption" among the Protoss that Zeratul needs to cleanse, and that's why he's been running along. Hopefully he'll try to redeem himself for killing his matriarch.

The Protoss one will probably have a "4gate very single map" challenge. toss will almost certainly be a 300esque feel, i think Morhaime even said something like that in an interview... though i really liked the original idea for the campaign (political game where you try to unite as many protoss clans as possible to have enough forces to defeat Amon) I'm actually very much okay with a 300esque Protoss game, because if my reading into the Protoss lore is accurate, they're a fading light in the darkness, kinda like the Elves in the Lord of the Rings. They're here for now, but will soon disappear unless they really get their shit together. I wonder if you're gonna have a persistent unit count which decreases with time (you only get 1k Zealots for the campaign, so don't fuck up!) type of thing. i imagine there willl be at least one or two mssions like this where its a mircofest for glory...and i def feel like at the end of each mission despite victory, it will feel like you barely made it out alive and though you won the battles you are losing the war.... we will see how they go about it but i am very excited, especially since it looks like they bringing back yellow toss from BW as the "theme color for the game, despite having green this whole time". so much nostalgia, but i wonder how they will balance out the respected rogue hero of Zeratul, who has been a real let down in SC2 in my opinion and the somehow selfless Kerrigan....if she is the key, why need zeratul and toss campaign? idk Well, I feel like the reason he's been a letdown is because of the fact that he hasn't really shown up very often. He's kinda just been in the shadow, biding his time and waiting for the right moment to do the right thing. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there's been some sort of "corruption" among the Protoss that Zeratul needs to cleanse, and that's why he's been running along. Hopefully he'll try to redeem himself for killing his matriarch. I don't know if the entire Protoss civilization knows that. Besides, he probably feels ashamed for what he did. I don't mind that his missions were optional, actually. It meant that you COULD get sweet things, but it wasn't entirely mandatory, since it would've just detracted from Raynor's journey. It felt like you should have done the Protoss missions just to get a glimpse of the greater story.

I don't think that I've explicitely disliked mirror matches in SC2, or even SC1 so far. They've just been a thrillride from beginning to end. 2nd WoL protoss mission was sort of eh, I think Was that the one where you kill the librarian/archivers? I thought that was fine. Not the most fun or interactive, but certainly not even my least favourite WOL mission to date.

Seems we switched to LotV campaign hype

I just didn't like how the hybrid kept whispering vague threats while taking the same two paths over and over... And all you really could do was build a 1/2 base army and attack through one choke
