this year more american kids are enrolled in minor hockey than canadian kids. the GTHL, Ontario Junior "B", and Junior "A" systems all thoroughly suck balls and deserve to die i can't speak for the rest of canada because i do not know what their systems are like. but, the ontario system is garbage from the bottom right to the top. the politicking, empire building, and backstabbing all de-motivate the well meaning solid volunteers and we're left the grifters, slime buckets and coaches with an "agenda". its more fun to just flood your back yard and play for fun. the kids at the event... i wish them well..they seem like nice kids doing their best in the situation they've been placed. the system they came from ( in ontario ) is pure crap. like i said.. its better to just flood your back yard and play for fun.

great video foreshadowing the exponential growth of violence in pro hockey. can they fly Billy Stempovalinchki to Sweden... because Canada can't even handle the Slovaks ![]() i think Port Credit is bigger than Slovakia... what a joke. the dive by the Slovak that drew a penalty to Dumba... that's a dive wayne gretzky would be proud of. why couldn't Dave Schultz have knocked out a few of Ken Dryden's teeth in 1 of the those dozens of bench clearing brawls in the 70s... Dryden in these commercials really needs to be punched in the face.

its Canada versus USA at the WJHC... or you can go to coolsport dot tv ![]() is USA wearing the 1980 Olympic jerseys? this big ice hockey is better than any NHL game. great game today. On December 31 2013 06:37 Orcasgt24 wrote: My biggest complain about games played under IIHF rules is diving is rewarded. They call the game by the book and call mostly everything (which is fine. I don't mind rule naziing on ice) so a few well timed dives can get you pp's. NHL refs often look at something and don't call anything if the play is really weak. Would be nice if the IIHF did something about the diving like the NHL did a few years ago wayne gretzky is the biggest diver in the history of hockey. Canada barely won the 1987 Canada Cup basically because Gretzky was flopping all over the place. and to add to it he is a big whiner... so we have a diving whiner as the face of canadian hockey.

ZZZZzzzz...... this is how wide the parody now is between the teams in this tournament. a team that beats the powerhouse Russians by 3 goals then plays Switzerland to a tie game at the end of regulation.

I know he is. And the NHL didn't do anything about diving until like 2010 or something, long after the greatest player in history retired

i don't pay much attention to the NHL any more. But, from what i've seen, after 2010 it was still a dive-fest. hell, the 2011 Vancouver Canucks were a whole team of flopers, divers, and complainers. the NHL's "focus on diving" is working out about as well as their crusade to "minimize head injuries". he is "the face of Canadian hockey" and the most accurate touch passer in the game's history, but , hardly the "greatest player of all time" as far as the greatest goalie of all time... Mike Palmateer is making a run for that distinction with these amazing saves in the ALumni game... for a 2nd there i thought i was watching the 1978 playoffs

Calling any other goalie outside of Roy or Brodeur the best is a travesty as well. ( imo ) Those guys didnt need alumni games to showcase themselves.
