I wouldn't give him JVR's spot though especially when you look at the other factor. Chemistry. Putting Kessel together with him is a natural fit. The USA have a lot of speed not only on their front end, but their back end too. They'll be fun to watch.
Yeah the main reasons it would seem from the article and what not is the the Kessel-JVR line and the fact that JVR is a bit faster and more willing to play in front of the net and muck it up.
I dunno. I just really hope they are right because it will sting to see the US bow out losing a bunch of low scoring games where a perennial 30g guy would have made a difference.

don't know what you mean by "losing a bunch of low scoring games". its the same format as 2010.
they are in a group with Slovenia, SLovakia and Russia, i don't think Slovenia is even a top 15 country in the world. so the USA will clearly get to the 1-game elimination stage.
so if the USA is knocked out it'll be because of losing a 1 game elimination game.. not because of "a series of low scoring games".

Team Canada built a team in the same manner the USA just did for the Turin games. That team was KOed in the quarters and finished 7th, having been shut out twice during the group stages and for the third, final time vs Russia. Players like Sidney Crosby, Eric Staal and Jason Spezza did not play yet Ryan Smyth and Kris Draper did. Canada lost all the low scoring games they played. Thumped Germany and Italy but so did everyone else

Burke covered this. he said Ryan has no intensity. this was not Burke's decision alone though. obviously, he was speaking for teh entire decision making team.
there is sniping going back and forth between Burke and Ryan 2 guys. Ryan should've kept his trap shut.

Canada lost because they were eliminated by Russia in a single elimination game.
USA plays great in this years WJHC and draws Russia ( who played like crap losing 4-1 to Finland and getting thoroughly dominated by Sweden).
Canada plays horribly in the 2006 Olympics and draws Russia.
Both teams get eliminated in one game despite the USA filling the net all tourney long.
It all comes down to single elimination games... there is no "continuity" or "series" its all 1 game.
Ryan was left off the team because he is a whiny cry baby.
Here is his suck-hole comments about being left off the team.
"It was kinda gutless, I almost feel degraded when it comes out like that. It is what it is - that's their decision and that's how they feel about me."

Not at all.
Its a short list of players that havn't made the Oilers their bitch since 2006. It would be totally unhealthy and irrational to hate that many players... much less stressful to just hate the real problem.
Oilers fans hate the Oilers management team for leading this club to be absolutely fucking awful for this long.

His comments are aimed at Burkes anti Ryan rant he gave when questioned about leaving Bobby Ryan off Team USA. Ryan is right. Burke was being gutless.

David Poile on "Hockey Central at Noon" in damage control mode. ROFLMAO
first let's stomp all over a guy who had a horrible childhood... i guess this is what "Burkie" calls truculence...
and then we'll apologize LOL.
what a giant clusterfuck. Scott Burnside is getting hung out to dry.
nice to see Nathan Horton score a goal. his injured shoulder is probably the best thing that could ever happen to help his injured brain fully recover. hopefully, his brain injuries are behind him.
The Oilers this year have been the worst hockey club I have ever seen.
Add another loss to the playoff teams total. I joked on the Last Fan Standing post the Oilers FB made that edmonton would lose by a field goal and pick over. I was bang on haha

nah, Finland also beat Russia 4-1. Finland played great. Canada was "meh" throughout this event.
Finland played a really organized defensive style once they got the lead and executed a great "counter punch" style of offense. as i said earlier the "Roger Nielson System of Hockey".
gratz to Finland. it'll be cool to see the 2 natural long time rivals go at it in the finals. as usual Sweden will be favoured.
it was nice to see such a big crowd at a semi-final game. the atmosphere should be electric tomorrow.
