With the season incoming somewhat soon and most of free agency wrapped up how do you guys think the divisional standing will look. The only division that seems to have a clear cut favorite is B with Chicago being the team to be and the fact most of the division is rebuilding/not quite there yet. Division A seems like a dog fight among the California teams and Vancouver. My favorite out of C is probably Boston but Detroit and Montreal will probably be fighting with them for the lead all season. D is a toss up because on paper it's probably Pit but the Caps and Rags are too good to just write off.

East Coast hockey is going to be even more interesting with the amount of rivalries that got put into the same divisions while Division B is rather disheartening as a Hawks fan. There's no real big rival to get excited about playing

Why did the owner overpay by almost 100m? Always kind of irks me when poor businessmen in sports get bailed out.

Re season:
Detroit isnt fighting anyone for anything, with their leaky D they are going to need Howard to keep playing at the elevated rate he was playing in the playoffs just to make it. And with Ken Hollands just pathological need to not play young, potential top 6 guys over old, top 6 guys from 10 years ago only a slew of injuries will bring some hope to the D. But I guess because Montreal is also a mediocre team on paper and Price is on his way to MAF-ville who knows, but Boston is definitely a lock for Div C. Canucks should be in for a rude shock, no more autowins against the entire division anymore and it will be fun to watch how Luongo responds to being jerked around by Mike Gillis for two years -- I hope he responds by melting down to teach Canuck fans some humility --

And yes, Div D looks boring, but honestly, this is all because Detroit left the midwest. Its too bad there arent enough teams in the West to have also let Columbus and Chicago go East because the Wings-Hawks rivalry really heated up in the playoffs this year

How did you get 100m overpayment??

I assume harris thinks he can do better than what previous ownership did with the non-hockey usage of the Pru Center. That was hurting them a bit. Plus, Devs attendance should continue to climb. The kids that grew up watching them but did not have nearly as good taste in teams like me are fans of theirs, and they're at the age where they can now afford season packages. They were pushing that a bit more than in years past but they def can ratchet that up a bit

the old owner owed 200m that seemed like he was going to default on, so that should been roughly the price for someone coming in and picking up the devils from bankruptcy. how he got another 100m out of them is a mystery.

Outside of their goalie situation, why would you think that?? They're stacked elsewhere, as usual. That defense is insane.

Goalie controversy isn't really new either, but this is the first time the goalie controversy was over kinda meh goalies. Lu and Price should be the 1 and 2, but that's more because they're the best out of a weak group than being that good themselves the past year or so.
