Why can't they just pander to white dudes?!?
Why can't they just talk about policy issues without trying to stratify people and issues by gender, race, and religion for political points?
All three of those things are political issues! Two of them are super important to not-white-dudes!
Sure, some issues are identity-based. But that's not what happens in these speeches - instead they just more generally try to stir identity-based feelings even when that doesn't really have as much political relevance as they try to make it seem. Races, genders, and religions are so far from monolithic that these identity politics often border on absurdity.

What was actually said? I'm guessing life, liberty, and happiness?
Also, I hate that the report and quote buttons are right next to each other.
Yes.
I'm not surprised, given the way the Democratic Party extols equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity. That line wasn't butchered from their perspective.
That thought is always in the back of my mind. But they've payed pretty good lip service to the founding so far. (From what I've seen, I barely watched any of this convention).

One might say you are not the intended audience.
I know exactly what they are trying to do with this approach. I just can't say I agree with those goals.

Like Trump and in previous election years, the nominee comes later in the week to give their formal acceptance speech. They might pop in beforehand, but usually it's not a huge deal until Wed/ Thurs.
That lacks the best part, with the 2462 point font TRUMP behind him and his fucking head imposed over that. Like some V for Vendetta shit, but way more tacky.

Because Trump pissed most of the party off and was unable to make a deal when it became time to use them. This is what will happen with Mexico if he wins incidentally. He's good at reality tv but Hillary is an experienced operator.
