Can't the same argument be made for their GOP support as well? Yes, but the GOP is, in general, more willing to accept that support. Sanders is not willing to do so in any way. I don't believe the Koch brothers shouldn't have influence in politics, but I see many of the beliefs on social services to be regressive and harmful.
Got it, so it matters more who the candidates dislikes than who likes the candidates?

Also, it is mostly Republicans blocking anything the Democrats propose. Now I have no love for Democrats, but you can't blame everyone equally for the deadlock. If people are congress are unwilling to cooperate with the new president for the next 4 years, they should vacate their seat. It doesn't matter who you blame. If those congressmen keep their seats (many will), it doesn't matter. They are still there. They will still vote. Many of these congressmen have survived terrible approval ratings already. Their districts are on complete lock down. I think most people just vote their party or the incumbent at elections below the national level. Probably the only way to shake up Congress is to start by shaking up the presidency or the parties - isn't that what happened in 2010 when the Democrats lost their majority?

No, it matters that Sanders disagrees with 90% of what the Koch Brothers are pushing for and they happen to agree on a single issue. That isn't support, but the law of averages.

Which is why I said its more important who the candidate disagrees with more than who agrees with him. Since Sanders disagrees with 90% of what the Koch brothers said in the past, it doesn't matter that the Koch brothers are interested in supporting him now. Past history being more important that present realities.

I think it's a question of if the Koch brothers put the ad out to stir the pot or if they're throwing some money in support of Sanders because they think that he, for some reason, would be a president that would be better for their business somehow. Or they're doing for the lulz. Probably some combination of all 3.

The Koch brothers are going to want a say no matter who wins. They are consistent with their self interest above all other things.

All businessmen donate to all major politicians and all politicians accept donations from all businessmen. Those who claim not to, hide it.

lol of course koch would like to face sanders in the general. kind of want to see this

Are you mostly agreeing with the video's title?

To be fair, the question was kind of aimed at making him either be for or against Trump. It wasn't about his opinion. It was indirectly asking him to either endorse or condemn Trump. He said "Fuck your garbage" and hoped for jobs. I think that's fair. I would still like Scott to stop ruining Florida, but I think his answer to the *actual* question being asked was fair.
|
How is his answer fair?! He's refusing to condemn the ridiculous idea that "Islam (= Muslims) hates America". What an asshole.
|
MSNBC: “Please answer the following question: Is Islam a religion that hates America?”
Florida: “Let me tell you about the demographics of our state and that I am friends with people who liked to debate things. We love people, especially if they spend money in our state.”
MSNBC: “Yes, but what about the question about 1.5 billion people hating America?”
Florida: Smiles creepily at the camera while we all wonder where his eyebrows went.

I would argue the interviewer and everyone watching didn't give a shit about the appearance of the question, they cared about the implication. They started by asking who he endorses. He said "nope" and so they decide to use a Trump quote and ask if he can stand behind it. I mean, it's the exact same thing. They just asked their question again after he refused to answer. Fuck those guys. He isn't required to endorse anyone and them throwing a fit about it just makes them look foolish.
|
No, one is asking who he is going to endorse. The second one was if he agreed with Trumps statement or for him to talk about the claim that Islam hates America. He dodged the question because he didn’t want to answer it. I don’t love MSNBC, but this one is a no brainer. Its not a complex issue. 1.5 billion people do not hate America.
I don't know which is worse, politicians being spinless in the face this shit or people bending over backwards to justify it.

Bernie is too tired to answer your questions.
Following the recent Democratic presidential debate in Flint, Bernie Sanders was approached by a Syrian refugee who wanted to ask the candidate a question about the nation he left. Sanders initially was open to answering a question, but upon hearing the query was about Syria, Sanders brushed the man aside, saying he was “tired.”

But they're not asking him to endorse anyone, they're asking him his position on the specific idea that Islam hates America. Any decent person should immediately respond with "I completely disagree, Joe", and probably add "it's a frankly insulting and bigoted position to hold".

The question is bait for basically the reasons you just listed.
