I'd hope that sometime in the next 8 years things might turn around in either the House or Senate, but I'm pretty naive.
The electoral map does not look good for republicans from all reports. A lot of vulnerable seats have elections this year. And the “Do nothing and blame the other side because they hold the white house” is not really panning out for them. Just like shutting down the government didn’t work out.
It is going to be a messy year, but I think a section of the party is still living in the Rove built Echo chamber that made them believe Romney stood a chance in those last weeks.
I expect the Democrats to make gains, not sure if they'll take control of either chamber though. The party really needs to figure out their message. If they can do that, I can see a big win.
midterm elections will reflect anger and frustrated whites. minorities and poors don't vote midterm lmao

bernie will stop himself. if not, then it will be a bad presidency for both the country and the left. for me it always comes down to the practicality and quality of the policies likely to be pursued. the far left that bernie represents has so many ill begotten and potentially disastrous ideas that there will be a lot of either disastrous policies with the democrat party associated, or purely unproductive bog downs in congress
Mechanical problems and got picked up by Iran first? Did they lose communication? Why would they be so close to Iranian space on a non-Intelligence mission? I am uncomfortable with that explanation. Although it seems to be what we know:
If one boat lost power and started to drift, they could have ended up in waters controlled by Iran pretty quickly. Even if they called for help, its not like that is going to stop the current.
Man if O'Malley left before Iowa Bernie would have an even better chance to win the first two states. Just hope Joe says some more positive stuff about Bernie while questioning Hillary's constantly shifting positions (although he did it very diplomatically) and get some of his supporters that shifted to Hillary after the rumors died to come over to Bernie.
I can't believe how many calls are being made... 100's of thousands of calls to early states should be a solid turnout if they keep up.
Is there any good research about how social dynamics tend to impact caucuses? I'm curious if Bernie's 2-1 male support in Iowa could impact how the caucuses plays out socially.
I might read a transcript. I'm not really interested it whatever he has to say. But there is no way I'm listening to a speech with clapping every 30 seconds.
