:/
that needs to be fixed, it means that you need a unit with 6 range to clear them out easily.
do they hit cloaked units when cloaked?

I don't know if I've ever seen a unit inspire so much terror except for maybe the new mine. Oh no terran's getting something good besides the marine, nerf it!! So funny. Immortal's still going to be as ridiculous as it is now vs mech, don't worry boys. It's not about playing, I'm shit, I'll always be shit - I don't care about me. I care about e-sports, I care about good matches being casted which are dynamic, exciting and interesting. This unit genuinely looks like shit to esports to me, utter trash. I get it the common consensus right now is that terran winning games without fighting an enormous uphill micro battle = bad for e-sports, but if this unit brings the matchup any closer to Broodwar TvP then consider e-sports improved. Make the other races deal with an uphill micro battle at the pro level don't dumb it down evenly instead :/ I like seeing cool shit that *I* could never do - you don't see enough (not to say I'm that good but you get me, I hope) eg: recently squirtle did some slick as fuck warp prism zeppelin micro in a match, it was great. If Micro was all that could be interesting at a pro level, everyone would be watching WC3 right now. I'd like to see positional play be an option for other match ups besides TvT. Protoss breaking terran lines used to be tense to watch. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's dumbed down. DOTA2 answers your post. It's micro intensive and it's popular. Also War 3 is old - it still has a lot of fans and the awesome micro helps that. TvT is the only good mirror matchup in the game, PvP is intense but repetitive and annoying.
Is controlling mostly only 1 thing you need to control count as micro? Not shitting on ARTS games but I am just curious.

I am eager to have a play because I'm a bit bored lately. I'm actually not looking forward to what this will do to the multiplayer game of SC2 as it is. Several of the units show a clear lack of foresight and direction to me in their design. I hope I'm wrong but I suspect not. The simplest way to put it is "gimmicky" even though it's a bit of a catchall word. I feel like SC2 only just reached a point of stability and interesting gameplay in the last 6 months, it's aobut to be pissed away.
Im not looking forward to the massive imbalance.
Im looking forward to the new playing, the ability to use skill and training to adapt to a new enviroment and take an edge over others who may not be as skilled as me, compete with the ones who are, learn from the ones who are better, and most importantly, sit down with plenty of popcorn to watch IdrA or someone likewise abuse the shit out of new units or get abused by them.

Well compared to BW I feel like it's compensated by the better pathfinding, since your 6 range units wont randomly go into mine range because of shitty AI. I mean you should be able to just amove over the minefield with stalkers+obs.

Digging in HotS resources and found some interesting ability and unit icons:
- here are another 2 different Swarm Hosts - greeny Carrion and purplish with spines Creeper - remember flying locusts on early arts? They are in icons - we have 2 icons of widow mine activation/deactivation that are red/green - found Syphon ability for Corruptor. Don't know is it removed or not - ocular parasite icon too, but it was removed long time ago

It seems that the client from last night is real and people have found a way to goof around in local custom maps but the keys have not been issued yet it appears so we're still awaiting that from Blizzard. I'm assuming since the client is out they'll be sending out keys today but they won't be in the office for another 2 hours at least.

The only thing I like is the oracle having a scan like ability. The carrier still needs to be brought back with a buff, the mothership needs a frenzy like attribute and broodlings screwing over patching needs to be fixed along with an infestor change. Plz remove warhound. Oracle with a scan like ability is the dumbest thing ever imho. Races have to be different..,.
It's closer to the reveal on EMP or Fungal then it is to scan to be honest, given that canons are the most expensive static defence with detection and couldn't move so it was really difficult to place them correctly against banshees it really didn't make sense for protoss to be the one without an ability that revealed.

Guys I actually think that every sc2 owner will receive a beta key, I just feel it...

For once, Terran will dictate unit composition in a game.
Yes, for once, besides every game played since WOL came out.

This would be the smartest way to get a shit ton of feedback, but also the worst way to get useful feedback if you have people who wont bother trying new things.

their target filter says Visible: Required this would indicate they do not hit cloaked units unless they are revealed.

Nope
We are preparing to invite testers for the Heart of the Swarm beta very soon! To be clear, this test will be for the multiplayer experience only. We will begin with a select group, including many players who assisted us in testing Patch 1.5, as well as some pro-gamers and press. Over time, we will add more and more testers into the mix. If you are interested in participating in the beta test, please make sure you are opted in for beta testing. You can do this by clicking "Beta Profile Settings" under the Account Management section of your Battle.net account. Note that the opt-in doesn't guarantee entry, but gives you a chance at joining the beta test. Also, we'll be working with your favorite fansites and community personalities to give away more entries to the beta test, so keep an eye out for invites coming from the greater StarCraft community over the coming weeks. We can’t wait to get the public test started for Heart of the Swarm, and we look forward to collecting your feedback. The Swarm is coming!

IIRC they showed that during the campaign you could chose "upgrades"/evolutions like in the WoL campaign, that gave you unit variations (leaping zerglings/frag banelings etc.) so color variations for single abilities may be for that
