I don't want to rag on Kobe--he played great. It was more in reference we had a few pages back about Kobe being an amazing clutch player.

1. Why are the Lakers not posting up Pau whenever he's being guarded by Faried? Any other team would love to have a 7-footer with a good post game being guarded by someone that much smaller and shorter than him, and would exploit that matchup until the other team subbed him out. If MEM had either ZBo or Marc being guarded by Faried, I'm certain that they would post him up every time down the floor. Yet, for some reason, the Lakers choose to only post up Bynum on whichever 7-footer is guarding him. This has been going on all season-long, and you have to blame the coaching staff at some point for either not calling for it or not yelling at the players to execute it if it is being called. 2. Shameful game by Bynum. He got punked by McGee in every possible way, and didn't seem all that upset about it. Instead of trying to shut McGee down by boxing him out and preventing him from scoring, Bynum kept trying to get back at him by trying to score on him on the other end (which DEN did a great job of preventing for the most part). He can talk all he wants about how he understands that his greatest contribution to his team is in rebounding and defense, but it's been clear for a long time that his focus is on offense. Damn shame, and it'll be interesting to see how he responds in the next game. 3. Sessions needs to take open 3's when he has them. It's not like he's not capable of making them, he's been shooting them at 48.6% since joining the Lakers and starting. By not taking them, he's doing a disservice to Pau and Bynum by allowing his own defender sag off of him and deny entry passes or double the post. I don't know if it was his choice, but I suspect the coaching staff played some part and probably told him to get the ball into the post no matter what and to avoid shooting 3's to avoid long rebounds and runouts. While I agree there are risks for missing 3's, but they Lakers guards can't just stop shooting them until they're forced to. 4. As for feeding the post, I don't see why the Lakers didn't adjust to the Nuggets defense by having either Kobe or Pau feed Bynum instead. There's no way Kobe's man is going to drop off of him to deny an entry pass to Bynum, and he's much less likely to double off of Kobe as well. The same goes for Pau in a high-low situation. 5. I read the interview with Brown regarding the 2-PG lineup, and some of it makes sense, but how can you stick with that lineup with Andre Miller killing the Lakers single-handedly a la CP3? At some point, you've got to try something else. They tried putting Kobe and Barnes on him for a couple of possessions each, but I don't think they really gave those guys a real chance to guard Miller. Blake was getting killed by him all game, and I find it inexcusable that Brown didn't adjust. 6. Matt Barnes' 3-pt shooting, SMH....

Score a lot to get close, then choke and brick shots on the final play?

That's about all I have to say about today. Oh and Javale McGee is earning some mad respect from me. Dude has a lot of potential, it's obvious now that what he needed in Washington was a real coach. Under Karl in these playoffs he has been solid and even at times brilliant. I called it Lakers in 6. Looks like I called it right. Rest of the first round didn't play out like I expected it to though.

Karl is maximising his abilities on the offensive glass and with lobs from Miller, but he's still a bad basketballer. Bynum could have had his way with McGee offensively today, but he looked to busy pouting to get involved.
