While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.

Eh....
Seems over the top; and i'm one who chastised naniwa for what he did ;/
Though, I think it's fair to apply the same type of empathy and understanding that many have done for naniwa for GOM:
He shit on their tournament and essentially announced he doesn't give a fuck about their effort to display him, his team, and his skill on a VERY renowned stage.
So GOM said "WELL I DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU!"
This, I can actually respect. It's honestly hard to fault them for it. They really don't lose much with their decision - as well as retaining the respect of the korean scene that widely considered naniwa unhonorable.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Anyways, even funnier, nani will prob learn nothin from this

Fine by me, Nani repeatedly seems to showcase a lack of professionalism.
Looking forward to watching the games of whoever replaces him =)

Why the hell are people complaining about this format when it happened on day 1 and nothing happened?
|
Well did Naniwa break any written rules? Putting aside moral standards and respect, did he actually break a GSL rule? For example; "A player is not allowed to intentionally throw a match or perceiving to throw a match." With something like that I can see the punishment. However if this is just a matter of "honor" then I can't agree with this at all.
|
Well we want esport to grow and get rid of patetich tourneys with shit format etc. Naniwa took a stand to improve esport and he should not be punished for that.
There are so many players that have done bm stuff but Naniwa is the only one getting kicked out. Its double standard and just childish by GOMTV.
Lost all respect for them!

Global StarCraft League not really showing fair treatment to global players...
WHAT ?!?!?! Dude this shows your complete ignorance as a human being toward the korean culture. GSL saw slayers take action on their own to an extreme measure. GOMtv respects that the coach wants to punish them because GSL shouldnt have to teach little babies how to behave as a damn professional. You wanna be a prossional ACT LIKE ONE or dont waste my time trying to mooch off of my love for esports.

Great decision by GOM and the correct one also. There are hordes of Koreans busting their asses that dream of a day when they can have even one broadcasted pro match where they can display their talents to the fans, and Naniwa made a mockery of that dream in an instance. Please, have some respect for Korean culture and their values.

I bet Naniwa doesn't care. He still has a lot more work to becoming the best... and he is probably staying in Korea for a long time

should GSL also have banned zergbong for going otu drinking the night before and therefore diminshing his own quality of play?
Apparently they can because this proves they can pretty much do what they want with their tournament
|
Ahh, justice is served. Some people need to know what respect is. Mad props to GomTV for having the balls to take this decision.
|
i'm super happy that this decision was taken. i don't hate naniwa or anything, but his decision yesterday was just plain in bad taste. any mention of this on state of the game earlier?
|
Korean culture is much different and thinking that they should confirm to Western ideals of how to run their tournament are completely idiotic. A 1 month ban is a slap on the wrist and while it seems illogical to non-Koreans, this decision is entirely in line with the Korean consensus reaction the the incident. If you don't want to watch the GSL then don't, but expecting Koreans to change their entire culture so you can watch your immature favorite player 1 month earlier is laughably retarded.

But I am getting tired off how touchy they are, everything need to be so polite, mannerd etc, its just ridicilous. MLG, NASL, DH, IPL etc is enough. Korea can play by themself or start accepting that everybody does not agree on everything they do.
Naniwa probe rushed, buhu get over it, it was not the end of the world and it is not killing esport. If it was, Idra would have killed it long time ago!! Yeah I hate other cultures too. They all must be the same. They have their own values and when a foreigner comes over to that country, sometimes they have to learn the hard way. If a football team walked onto a pitch in front of thousands of their fans and kicked 5 own goals and didn't come out for the second half, I don't they would take it as well as some people are taking Naniwa's antics. Stop acting childish. Play the game you love. I'm sure he doesn't probe rush when he's lost 10 game on ladder in a row.
Yea,
Like korean managers tweeting about beating up pro gamers in the US, really poor style.
|
is this even confirmed in the first place?
|
I don't know why Naniwa or other people did not think he would get punished?
His actions hurt the league, and GomTV responded in kind.
|
Without a doubt the wrong decision. What Naniwa did was not smart, but excluding him for forcing him to play a pointless match does not make any sense.
GSL needs to recognize they are partly to blame for what happened. I've lost some respect for Mr. Chae.
|
well, i wanted to buy a ticket for the first time but maybe next time, pathetic decision.
