how do you do it? do you move your arm?
this has been bugging me for so long.
i feel as if the claw grip gives me the most control and precision, and i use it with the g9 which is a medium-smaller sized mouse. palm grip sounds good for maybe fps but for quick and precise movements the claw grip fits me more
i just use my thumb pinky and ring finger and just pull in to go down and push out to go up.

I use the finger-tip grip. But my new Logitech mouse is turning me into a palm gripper ever so slowly.

(i'm a noob if it comes to hardware) I use the fingertip grip I'm curious tho- I've had my whole arm (almost up to the elbow) on my desk when gaming, never had complains about pains or anything. Watching all this pro-gaming Everyone has just their wrists on the desk, is this simply better for your arms/wrists/hands or does it allow to be more accurate/faster?

Yeah I'm guessing I'm the same (well, minus the pinky thing... that just feels weird) after puzzling over the diagrams on Razer's site a bunch. I keep my wrist planted pretty solid on my wrist pad and just sort of shove the mouse around with my fingertips.

I use the fingertip grip. It's the most comfortable for me. I wasn't even aware that you could hold the mouse in other ways. :|
Razer states that it causes the most fatigue, but I have never experience any fatigue in my mouse hand. Probably has something to do with playing FPS practically since I was born, and that probably also explains my rough and tough hands. Everyone that has ever held hands with me complained about them.

Finger-Tip Grip and mouse is Salmosa... 1800dpi and 1000hz
|
Started off with the claw grip but I've gradually worked down to a, for me, more comfortable fingertip grip.

I use claw, simply because my mouse is too small to do otherwise. Which Razer mouse best lets you swap between them, out of curiousity ? I'm thinking of getting a new mouse and most of my friends use Razer...

I'm finding it hard to determine where finger-tip grip and claw-grip end/begin
do you have contact with the palm in claw grip?

Regardless of what mouse you own, you should pretty much always have your DPI at it's max setting in order to fully utilize the precision that a high DPI offers.
If you lower your DPI rather than simply lowering sensitivity you're essentially lowering the accuracy of your mouse rather than just lowering the sensitivity like it may feel. Really as far as in game sensitivity goes, it's all preference. Slower is never really better than faster and vice versa. If you change your sensitivity and find you suddenly play better then stick with that, it's really all about personal preference. Just experiment.
Also as a side note, don't lower or raise your sensitivity through windows, keep it at the default (the 6th notch) as raising/lowering it will force your mouse to skip pixels regardless of what DPI you're using and ruin and hardware advantage you gain from owning a 1600 DPI mouse.
If you're really interested in optimizing your mouse to get the best performance possible out of it you should take a look at this guide. It was intended to help CS:S players since FPS games rely so much on mouse accuracy, but there's no reason why an RTS player can't make use of this guide.
