How does this terran load his dropships so fast? 5 dropships pick up like 100 firebats in seconds. Does he use shift click?

Before I get to your question, no offense, just a hint:

I see that a lot of people like you who link a youtube-video don't use the FUNCTION THAT IS BUILT INTO YOUTUBE to let the video start at the point of the video that you want people to look at.

Maybe you didn't know but please use this. It takes you 5 seconds, it saves people time, more people will watch, you will get more answers, you can just be a good person by doing so... it's a win-win-win-win situation...

As for your question: yes, he selects some firebats and then shift+clicks on a number of vessels so that the firebats go from vessel to vessel and try to get in. In the following segment you can see it very well, maybe watch at .75 speed.

https://youtu.be/s9oxqYSanW4?t=1183

When he has time he also tries to keep an eye on which vessels are already full and he sends those away and doesn't shift+click them any more. This way the firebats won't try to board vessels that are already full which will save him some time.

The shift click method works, but the loading procedure is slower than it could be since initially only the first shift clicked dropship will start moving/loading and only once this is full the next dropship will be activated. Cloning or selecting the fitting amount of units and then directly clicking on a dropship - ergo not using shift - provides a loading procedure where - depending on your speed an accuracy - multiple dropships at once get loaded.

Its also worth mentioning that the sequence in which units get loaded determines the sequence in which they get unloaded. Can make sense to have tanky units being unloaded first or to determine in that way when the defiler gets unloaded etc.

That is fascinating. So does that mean if I want to drop an Ultralisk with 4 Zerglings on a Siege Tank line, I should put the Ultralisk in the Overlord first to have the Ultralisk come out first?

You can click on a unit's diagram directly while they are in a transport unit, they will unload immediately (if able). Other unloading methods wouldn't make sense in that scenario. Just hotkey overloads that have ultras or something, then click on the Ultras' picture in Overlord to unload. You can use moving unload method for lings after.

I have two questions. Is there a build order for 8 gate timing in PvZ (mainly curious about when to add the gateways)? I know how to execute the build ok but I would like to know an optimized build order if there is one. Also, how does zerg deal with a terran who goes 2rax SK terran (gets quick vessels off 2 starports while transitioning to 4rax)? Feels like they they have too many vessels.

One I know is 7pylon, 8gate, probe, 9gate, probe, zealot, probe, 2x zealot, attack with 3zeaots and a probe and rally zealots. This is a essentially a proxy gate build or a blood bath/blue storm build and a fairly al in rush. Zvt scenario is the guy 1 base 2raxing? Or 2 baseing it? The answer depends on that fact. And then you want scourge plague and dark swarm to counter vessels.

he's talking about 2 base 8 gate and 2 base zvt

not sure about 8gate

you punish 2rax into 2port with good muta micro, it's hard to deal with mutas with such a low rax count

The original question was asking about a build where you make 8 gateways when you're on 2 base, not rushing a gateway at 8 psi.

Ah well in that case the build is like 8pylon 10
Forge, 15 nexus, 16 cannon, 17 gateway, 20
Core, 21 +1 weapons, 23 stargate, 25 citadel, then upgrade leg speed add 7 gates and mass ground troops and attack. Ur gonna have to make more cannons if the guy is ling or hydra All in ing you. Who are u jealous? Lol

Disagree. Since the click on the icon requires your mouse to move so far from center you'll lose precious time. Especially when it's about really quickly initiating a command, for example if you wanna storm in the time that tanks need to turn to the unloaded target or if you wanna mannually target with your unloaded unit instead of letting it auto-target, its hugely preferential to use the unload command on the moving dropship and having pre-determined the sequence of unloading.

In PvT, how do you stop the 2base 7fac all-in? I mean, even when I scout it and try to have enough macro cycles, terrans seem to steam-roll me.... (This is the worst feeling when you see the all-in coming and u cannot do anything ) Are there any early tells for it, and should I try 2base arbiter if I see it early enough (before taking my 3rd)?

Also another question, as I've mentioned it, can someone give me a good BO for 2base arb?

y2k it's hard to stop 2base 6-7 fac. It's not necessarily all in for T imo (?). I think a good way to counter it is reavers + mass gates before 3rd. Say you get 2+ reavers (shuttle?) and 6-7+gates before making 3rd, that is a good counter. If you try to go for 3rd fast or very fast to get many gates and more units, it's probably risky, because he can attack you before you are strong and you have that extra base to defend ofc. Arbiter would likely come late (with stasis energy) to deal with the attack. Going storm or DT instead could be more interesting.. but it can be quite hard to tell that T is doing this, try to get obs in his base, you know sometimes you can't but you just have to watch for tells how he's moving how much he spent on turrets where and whatnot. Possibly if you want to know and can't see with obs drop a probe or zealot into his main with shuttle @_@? or do reaver harass can help you see. So doing some shuttle reaver harass opening can be nice

Would you mind providing a replay for this? Because it might just be an issue with the way you engage or with your macro.

Don't see this as an "all-in" but as a timing push. Those naturally have to do damage (or at least trade well) or Terran is behind but the game is not over for Terran if the push doesn't kill: he'll be on 2 base, even if not fully saturated, and he can go on from there so it's not an all-in like double 8rax for example.

Like all timing pushes, if they are well chosen to react to what you do (fast 3rd, delayed 3rd), they offer Terran a window of opportunity to move across the map because his army is stronger, and your job is to stall that push while macroing up more. You stall and meanwhile build up sufficient producion and forces to defend. Then it's gonna be a tug-of-war, who macros and engages better wins.
Alternatively you can try to counter with a reaver e.g. to kill a lot of SCVs so that he can't sustain his push but that will have to be well timed and it's risky because you will have less stuff to face his army. Or you go for HTs with your army for example and try to win with some nice storms. Using single DTs to bait out all his scans is another option.

I hardly heard of 7fact, 4/5/6 fact is more common because they hit earlier. Setting up 7 factories actually takes quite a long time, especially if Terran has to build turrets beforehand. I think this would fail if you took a very fast 3rd and just spammed gateways and researched zealot legs in time and shuttle-bombed him. With all the goons that you should have when he starts to push out you can delay his push quite a bit if you do it right. His tank count will be reduced compared to a 3-base timing, so if you keep fake-engaging and shoot-moving with your goons he will have to emergency-siege up oftentimes and you will soften up his vultures a lot before you actually engage.
That said, good Terrans will realize if their timing window is closing, will engage very carefully and will probably slowly transition out of their push and skip a round of vultures at some point to grab a 3rd.

edit:
How do you scout this?
Well, Terran doesn't have that many options tbh: quick dropship, some 2base push, or 3base play.
He should have a turret ring up but it will be hard for him to fit in all the factories without that you get a glimpse at that if you cycle round his base with your obs. If you cannot see that he is building a 3rd CC somewhere to float to his 3rd then prepare for the worst.
If you didn't build a fast obs then use your goons as best as you can to keep an eye on what goes on around his choke (lots of speed-vultures coming out early should mean that he is not working on his tank- and factory-count for the push). Have one or a few goons at his 3rd to see asap when a CC floats there.
One more thing: If you can see that he is not taking his natural gas soon after expanding, that means that he's not gearing up for a long game but will probably push very soon from 3/4 factories.
