This 1.18 update is retarded. The update is forcing players to upgrade their PC. If you don't have a modern graphics card, say good bye to StarCraft. Unless you're willing to upgrade.
Basically, the update merged the Original StarCraft Game Engine *Take note on the (Original). Yes, ORIGINAL Game Engine* with the new pretty boy faggot "HD Remastered" Game Engine. So... there technically is no longer a StarCraft Original. It's now StarCraft Remastered. And now you are forced to upgrade your PC specs to be able to meet the minimum requirements for this StarCraft Remastered Game Engine.
Enough of the nerd talk though. I care less. StarCraft just screwed themselves. These people, these people that prefer the prettiest marine attacking the most prettiest dragoons attacking the most prettiest zergling are going to enjoy the game until the next "pretty" thing comes along. Enjoy the "pretty boy" bandwagon buddies. Continue on with your pretty boy sausage fest.
All i'm saying is, I don't give a shit about graphics. StarCraft was a great game. That's why I still played it. Because it was a great game. The whole idea behind StarCraft was amazing. But now, now I can't play it unless I upgrade this PC. Which i'll never do because i'm not a PC enthusiast. And i'm not a savage when it comes to pretty graphics.
Perhaps this team of developers working at battle.net could have focused more time on cleaning battle.net from hackers and cheaters rather than making a Marines Tooth shine brighter with his smile and a Dragoons Armor shine brighter and a Ultralisks Legs look more sharper. Those things have no relevance when it comes down to the game play of StarCraft. Perhaps this team of developers at Battle.net could have focused more on making battle.net a more enjoyable experience by improving ways to make public matches, 4v4, 3v3, and 2v2, more fair from the nerds and try hards on these competition leagues.
I'm just saying. Nothing matters anymore though because I can't even play the game anymore. Good luck gamers, staring at the Marines buffed and polished butt. I like your approaching and honest opinion man. You will get ton of downvote but I really want you to post this on battle.net forum. We didn't even see that "shiny marine tooth" yet but we already encountered ton of bugs boy. I mean what are the minimum requirements for the game exactly, a computer released in the past 15 years? Like i said about a week ago 1.18 needs windows 7 now.XP no longer works. So basically the requirements for windows 7. Isn't using XP just a security risk? I really don't think it's Blizzard's fault they aren't supporting XP when Microsoft hasn't supported it for years either.

I can't even get into bnet, it says failed to make initial server connection (error 2:1). Someone help please?

well, i'll stick to 1.16 for the time being, hopefully it won't take long until all is fixed.

Using bitdefender antivirus and gateways never show up if antivirus shield is running.
Fullscren is stretched and still same problem with hotkeying units.
Is the taskbar supposed to show up in windowed fullscreen because it bothers me while playing , fixing it with dragging it to the side.
They literally just released the ptr version without anything fixed.

can't connect too, playing sb tonite. im sick of all these changes and will wait for a polished version

Though I fear I'm raging soon cuz bw is not reacting as good as on 1.16.1 (like that hotkey'ing issue, that they don't get saved. iirc it is that mouse action blocks keyboard action). And then bw won't be fun anymore Playing under 200 APM on fun maps like Fastest, Blood Bath, UMS etc. shouldn't be problem. You won't really feel difference about input. Only issue can be mouse lag.
wtf, for sure you can feel the input lag even if you have lower APM. What non-sense is that? If you have played 18-19 years with the same input, you will notice even the slightest difference between input and APM doesn't even matter in relation to that. If your actions are not registered and you have to perform them twice or even thrice, for sure I will notice it.

So they did fix some things but i still have horrible lag/sluggish input. It s ok but way below sb. But you have some ppl there so that s nice.
You can have both iccup and 1.18 in separate folder, no issue. No issue with shieldbattery either.

From my experience input lag occurs when you hit 1a2a3a fast so some of the keys are not registering. If you're like performing 2 actions per minute which is 120 APM it handles with it ok. But there are multiple issues with input so I agree some of them can be felt instantly. I don't even know if it's lag or some kind of restriction if one key is still pressed another key isn't registering. Most new players, probably SC2 community didn't even notice it because they barely use hotkeys because of 12 unit selection.

Same issue. no wonder it feels sluggish. Hopefully it gets fixed asap. The issue also seems to appear when going through the production cycle while re rallying
Edit:spelling

Is there some input lag issue when placing buildings down too? Sometimes on 1.18 PTR/live when I press building hotkey immediately after b it will not register and I have to repeat the input. I was hopping back and forth between 1.16 and 1.18 and wasn't noticing this with 1.16.

So can foreigners use fish now without a korean phone number?

I agree SCC-Faust, Team Mele is brilliant, it worked perfectly before, no reason to change it to an inferior version now. If you wanted 4SCVs, you'd pick T T T T, if you wanted 1 SCV, 1 Probe and 2 Drones (spawn with CC) you'd pick T P Z Z Complete control. Why change it to anything worse?

I had this strange feeling they`ll ruin everything which worked so far, and they did so. As for a patch which should solve problems, this "patch" introduces never seen bugs/glitches/annoyances, but hell, maybe I`m gonna join in too. After patch version 2.6.1. Or not. We`ll see.

So I would like to go back to 1.16 or keep a separate instance/folder of it available as some others above have mentioned.
How can I do this? I initially just installed 1.18 over my 1.16.1 outright. Looks like it found that directory and just manifested itself in there lol. Do I just need to reinstall 1.16.1 separately at this point and make it in another folder. Or is there a way to revert back, and then install 1.18 in a new folder, etc. What options do I have to keep both instances for now? Any advise would be much appreciated.
