Yes! I already checked: when 1.18 gone live I couldn't connect to Fish without updating. Now I can with my untouched 1.16.1.

I don't dare trying 1.18 yet, but a friend of mine was super happy that fastest games are being filled within moments AND without lag (well, after the 5-15 sec. lag in lobby after countdown, but in game was fine). This, of course, is a BIG improvement.

Well, from now on keep 2 copies of BW and problem is solved. Assuming koreans never had problem with 1.16.1 they will stick with it. Foreigners can play on 1.18 if they wish if that helps their connection.

Though I fear I'm raging soon cuz bw is not reacting as good as on 1.16.1 (like that hotkey'ing issue, that they don't get saved. iirc it is that mouse action blocks keyboard action). And then bw won't be fun anymore

YES!!! I knew Koreans wouldn't accept this nonsense.
1.16 all the way. I'm finally playing on fish after 1.5 years and grinding my way to whatever rank I can achieve and now blizzard would have put a spoke in my wheels with this dumb 1.18 patch.

Playing under 200 APM on fun maps like Fastest, Blood Bath, UMS etc. shouldn't be problem. You won't really feel difference about input. Only issue can be mouse lag.

Well... in ealy games I'm spamming quite a lot when hotkey'ing freshly spawned units relatively fast. Especially with Terran, there are super many rines and medics to be hotkey'ed after a while. Even on low games back in ptr I had that issue. Though at first it was my fault cuz I wasn't accurate enough but turned out it's a 1.18 issue.
Edit: Prepare becoming a tank! (or whatever portrait one gets reaching 1k posts :D)

If Blizzard devs are finally waking up I expect them to fix input until the end of this month after seeing shitstorm by korean community.

So, it's basically dead on arrival. Good job.

This 1.18 update is retarded. The update is forcing players to upgrade their PC. If you don't have a modern graphics card, say good bye to StarCraft. Unless you're willing to upgrade.
Basically, the update merged the Original StarCraft Game Engine *Take note on the (Original). Yes, ORIGINAL Game Engine* with the new pretty boy faggot "HD Remastered" Game Engine. So... there technically is no longer a StarCraft Original. It's now StarCraft Remastered. And now you are forced to upgrade your PC specs to be able to meet the minimum requirements for this StarCraft Remastered Game Engine.
Enough of the nerd talk though. I care less. StarCraft just screwed themselves. These people, these people that prefer the prettiest marine attacking the most prettiest dragoons attacking the most prettiest zergling are going to enjoy the game until the next "pretty" thing comes along. Enjoy the "pretty boy" bandwagon buddies. Continue on with your pretty boy sausage fest.
All i'm saying is, I don't give a shit about graphics. StarCraft was a great game. That's why I still played it. Because it was a great game. The whole idea behind StarCraft was amazing. But now, now I can't play it unless I upgrade this PC. Which i'll never do because i'm not a PC enthusiast. And i'm not a savage when it comes to pretty graphics.
Perhaps this team of developers working at battle.net could have focused more time on cleaning battle.net from hackers and cheaters rather than making a Marines Tooth shine brighter with his smile and a Dragoons Armor shine brighter and a Ultralisks Legs look more sharper. Those things have no relevance when it comes down to the game play of StarCraft. Perhaps this team of developers at Battle.net could have focused more on making battle.net a more enjoyable experience by improving ways to make public matches, 4v4, 3v3, and 2v2, more fair from the nerds and try hards on these competition leagues.
I'm just saying. Nothing matters anymore though because I can't even play the game anymore. Good luck gamers, staring at the Marines buffed and polished butt. I like your approaching and honest opinion man. You will get ton of downvote but I really want you to post this on battle.net forum. We didn't even see that "shiny marine tooth" yet but we already encountered ton of bugs boy. I mean what are the minimum requirements for the game exactly, a computer released in the past 15 years?

Yep it officially sucks. The guys who made the original bw are gods. New guys have no idea.

I know this is really minor and the vast majority of people don't care but they broke team melee with 1.18.
I'm hosting a small and unorganized league called Rookie Team League that uses team melee in the format because it is a unique and fun game mode that emphasizes the "team" part. With 1.18 you can no longer select all the races on your team. Prior to this you could play with 1-4 players on your team and all slots had a race option, so you could have two players and play Terran. Now when you do not have a full 4 players in each slot for your team it assigns you random workers in the slots you did not fill. This is problematic because most people who play team melee want to work together and micro/macro, they don't want to mix random workers into their race. It makes for convoluted game play and strategy rather than emphasizes on it because there are clearly OP decisions that everyone would take if given the freedom to use all 3 race workers (such as 50 mineral extractor, 300 mineral expansion hatchery for early game edges). I mean if people have fun with that, that is cool, but removing the option to stay to one race completely when you have less than 4 people breaks the game mode because the majority of the minority of people who play team melee do not want that.
1.18 should be adding or improving features, but it seems like it is removing them instead.

I'm not having any issues, game is buttery smooth, mouse feels great, no dropped games. I've played about 20 games on USW and not had any problems
not ready to play on Fish yet, mechanics aren't quite back where they used to be
game feels good to me, I'm just glad I can load this game on Win10 without having to jump through hoops

Sorry for being oblivious, I have not followed the debate rigorously. What is the biggest issue with 1.18 that is bothering people? Is it mouse lag or sthng else?

Well, people playing in your league should be grown up enough to not abuse these kind of things. As long as you can choose your main race (speaking of the "correct" town hall), this shouldn't be a big issue. I mean, I'd prefer having all slots the same race over different or even random races esp. when you can't change that yourself. Although having all kinds of workers is annoying, if you don't want it to be that way. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a friend of 1.18 as it is right now.
