1. noob gets zealotrushed-->dies 2. noob zealotrushes-->dies because of wall 3. noob builds wall-->gets goonrushed-->dies 4. noob goonrushes-->Dies to tankmicro 5. noob builds wall and micro his tank-->dies to dt drop 6. noob drops dts...... and so on.
Never tried it exactly this way, but it sounds fun, and its the way I learned...only much slower >.<

You are not a lone. You can play BW on ICCUP

Got my invite! Observing some games right now. the whole experience is really smooth. Great work everyone!

Why would you remove random from the game?

I've read your post like 50 times and still don't understand it.

Looks like a lot of people will be waiting for BW HD When I said "not implementing a random", it means "we use BW's random algorithm", not that you cannot play random on ShieldBattery.
And yes, that algorithm does avoid mirror matchups in random vs random, see the post I linked on the previous page: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/brood-war/413197-few-mirrors-when-both-players-random#18

I'm in.
IT'S HAPPENING ARTOSIS

Why would you want to avoid mirror matchups in random vs random? It's part of the game, and it's part of random vs random. Makes no sense :/

That would be a question only Blizzard can answer unfortunately.

OK, guys, read the post that tec linked to.
He is not saying avoid, as in completely avoid. He is using the exact same algorithm that BW uses, which avoids the likelihood that mirror matchups will occur. The BW algorithm favors non-mirror-matchups so they don't happen as much.
So yes, mirror matchups will still happen, at the exact same weighted randomness that they currently do in regular BW, iccup, fish... the same! Exact same! Nothing is different.

its just less likely of a mirror, not completely avoid, and its been this way for 15 years lol

RvR is really uncommon anyway. I imagine Blizzard was mostly trying to keep team games diverse, but for whatever reason also applied it to 1v1s. In any case, I don't really have a problem with it existing that way, and Eriador (I think) wants it that way, so I'm fine with it

So from what I've read and seen everything works pretty smoothly. Wouldn't it be time to invite some more people to get the servers a bit more crowdy and see how it's holding up? And with that I mean including people with a little less shitty specs *wink* *wink*

Thank you for the invite . I'm going to get some good friends into BW and we're all going to have fun learning together.

The RANDOMINATOR is a fraud who has skated by for years via not being tested with mirror matchups!

1v1 RvR = 5% mirror 2v2 RRvRR = 95% will be XXYZ (where XYZ are the 3 races)
