I'm the only one providing news and I'm a translator for Fish staff. I'm in no way an authority. Also this isn't a problem with me, it's a problem that thousands of people complain about. Trust me when I say I hate the whining from noobs just as much as you but smurfing is a fundamental flaw in the Fish Server. This is the best they can do without totally locking out foreigners.
If you really want something done, you guys can all put up a list of viable alternatives than the phone number thing and I'll be sure to show Turtle.

Yeah, guess what. Casual users at ICCup complain about the same shit for I don't know how long. Korea is not magically better at tackling this particular issue. As a matter of fact, it will more likely hurt them in the long run. Casuals tend to overestimate their skill and overvalue their losses. Even if they somehow manage to get a 50% win rate, they'll be convinced they should win more. Their losses are explained by the "good players smurfing". Even if the smurfs turn out to be just slightly better and a lot worse than the actual pros, which FISH has a lot of. I can only applaud that FISH admins decided to attack this situation not by trying to bind accounts to the BW owner, a MAC adress or whatnot, but to farm for private data, which they in turn can use to actually make money.
As far as the racist card goes: I don't think Koreans are racist, they're just ignorant. They don't care about the rest of the world, not positively or negatively, as their community is well enough to sustain on itself. Racism would imply the main reason of the policy is to shut out the rest. They just never thought of it. You defending their intentions is just ridiculous if you don't care, if you do, it's offending as shit.

I'm totally cool with him providing us news, translating, etc. I can appreciate and respect that. But to then continually defend what's going on with an authoritative "Yes, I'm friends with Turtle!!" and bias tone is what's caused all of this. If he's going to give news, just give it, and go about your way. But if you've been keeping tabs on this guy's posts since he joined TL, every post he makes is seemingly condescending, carries a tone of bigotry, and acts like he is the Fish authority. Obviously people will react a certain way, even if it's attacking him on wholly irrelevant facts. In my opinion, he deserves it.

I think this has more to do with him feeling like he is 'ENTITLED.' It's this authoritative mindset which has given him (as what he perceives) as entitlement and that's where this tone comes out. He has not even been understanding of our concerns or at least to try and undertsand our perspective. He's one-sided and blindlessly agrees with anything the fish admins or koreans in general decide. He then continues to get an attitude when you disagree with him. Need i say more? So he's not allowed to defend actions he finds rational? He's not allowed an opinion? Posting possible explanations/reasons for the change is the same as being one-sided and agreeing "blindlessly?" Ok, got it. I think this has more to do with him feeling like he is 'ENTITLED.' It's this authoritative mindset which has given him (as what he perceives) as entitlement and that's where this tone comes out. It riles folks up. Frankly, it is what it is. I can troll with the best of them. But this is definitely why people do not enjoy this guy, to say the least. So much to the point where people don't even care about the news he gives us anymore lol. Rofl, that's pretty sad ): Not as in pathetic sad, but as in it's depressing that his contributions get outweighed by his posting history. This is how we lose contributors, even if they might be questionable posters. Fuck, I'm still around somehow, and my "contributions" have been far less useful to the scene and my crimes much greater, lol. Lol. Yes, well, I guess "first impressions" do go a long way, indeed. EDIT: He's temp banned now. Guess that tone of his did not go such a long way after all.
