This thread gave me a heart attack. I finally thought I was settled in nicely, being able to play ladder on both the Fish and iCCup server. Honestly, this is really disappointing. I'm new to brood war and in my opinion it's the best game ever made. It's a shame that it's delivered in such a convoluted and biased package.
Every time I think I've overcome a hurdle, a new one shows up trying to prevent me from enjoying the best game ever made.
I respect the decision of Korean's to want to have a server for their own, it's their right. This doesn't mean that I agree with it though. I like to think I'm an ideal foreigner. I'm fascinated by Korean culture and I'm slowly learning the language to be able to fit in perfectly on the server and understand what my idols are saying during interviews.
I'm scared now, because being able to express myself or make a case for myself in Korean is still a distant future. Off the top of my head I'm hoping that Last.Scan might be able to supply some passionate foreigners with a phone number if given the necessary money to do so. I mean, doesn't a new phone come with a new phone number? If so, we could all just supply the necessary money for a Korean to buy himself a new phone and supply us with the number giving us 3 accounts.

Looks like the ladder finally reset and our fears are true. I cannot join the ladder channel with my previously valid accounts. FYI I have over 200 melee wins and passed the 48 hours logged on this account by A LOT.

dissapointing development. Will likely mean some more good foreigners on iccup and koreans who can't make another smurf.

Lot of korean people from ygosu (biggest sc site) are dissapointed with recent ladder system. They're saying that fish might text "ads" to them, using their phone numbers. The logic behind this is that fish is known for ddosing Brain server and corrupted admins. I think ladder system will change more still

the verification system doesn't even work at the moment. no ladder games for anyone at the moment.
