However, I thought the D players would much better than before. Maybe I'm just unlucky =) Haha yea the first couple of games are a pain in the ass if you have been playing sc2 for a while. Like if the mechanics itself isn't hard enough, what about the fucking AI man... :D

Running servers costs money, so maybe blizzer see's it as a good point that iccup runs their own? And of course BW is still awesome advertising for SC2: "You see Bruce Lee kicking like a boss? You want that feeling too but without spending 10 000 hours training? We've got the the right thing for you!" 100% _WRONG_ iCCup illegally allows the download of SC:BW, and their entire server is beyond illegal. However, litigation between the jurisdictions of Ukraine/Russia and the United States of America does not exist. Therefore, it would be impossible for Blizzard to shut them down.

Are Fish and Brain also illegal? Because if so, we might all have to move the the actual servers (US West, East, etc) to receive any form of support or recognition from Blizzard (that is, if you want Blizzard to help).

Problem is without the latency patch BW is almost unplayable. The game has evolved to a point where latencies can mean massive balance differences in certain matchups.

Blizzard has supported ICCUP and given it recognition in the past before. http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?topic_id=113649

I also wonder if, with the rise in traffic on Team Liquid, there's been a few more people trying it out. New blood would make D easier. As far as accessibility for newer players. There's a couple things that make it harder naturally and I'm not really sure how it can be overcome. There's instructions to play on Fish and Brain, but there is a lot steps including language packs, changing registry permissions etc. We have the step by step walkthroughs, but just by the amount of steps and the sorts of steps, it does make it harder. I still haven't bothered yet. iCCup has a good step by step, but one thing I've noticed is there absolutely no mention of port forwarding. I don't know for how many people this is an issue, but it's quite possible for someone to go quite a few seasons and never understand why people won't join your games. Port forwarding itself, although simple once you know it, does seem rather complicated you've never done it before. And itself could be a hindrance to playing. Both of these are technical issues and I'm not sure necessarily what can be done about it, but I think technical things can be just as much a hindrance. And the final thing is- we a have a few English casters holding it down like a boss and I wouldn't want to create extra work for them and have them burn out. But it would be nice if there were were a few more english casted vods- particularly of the Korean proleagues. Is there any way offloading the recording and uploading job to other people? But the main thing, is if there are a few english casted vods, I almost wonder if we had a dedicated thread for all english casters. The combined caster thread would be so that new casters aren't lost in the shuffle and because I don't think we have many casters regularly uploading like Day9. And if there is, then apologies to the caster, but that would also seem to indicate that we need better promotion in the BW General section. If there is a really big caster, then they could have their own thread. I don't know, maybe it's a dumb idea, but I'm just throwing it out there. The main idea is finding a way to highlight the various efforts that are already going on.

Also, as has been mentioned, more english casts. ESPECIALLY dual and tripple casts. These are the most fun to listen to because of the dynamics between the casters. This is where A & B level players can help out.

- streams. Few people stream and fewer talk while streaming. I don't necessarily want analysis, I want entertainment, so that I can spend my whole pitiful life watching BW and assimilating ideas / inspiration like I did in SC2. - I need someone to explain to me how to analyze my own games. I never needed this in SC2, because it's much easier to mass game and it's easier to track your improvement. But in BW every guide or game revolves around timings that seem mystical to the unitiated. Every guide says "do this if you feel you can achieve this". I feel nothing ![]() - I want someone to republish stylish' fpvods. A few of those are on the nevake channel, a lot seem to have been lost. In general I want more guides like that, they are immensely helpful. I remember trying the fantasy build taking the liquipedia article literally, and my build looked nothing like stylish' although the food counts were the same.

As opposed to a SC2 player that can probably spend days browsing the SC2 forums. If you ask for advice in BW, you get A, B level players with perfect replys, ending topics right then and there. So, a forum where new players can talk to other new players. Create clans, hold tourneys, advance together, challenge the seniors. Also, as has been mentioned, more english casts. This is so true, I'm a d level player with no skill and no friends, and I have no idea where to go for the friends part.

This is kinda why I've been putting off going back to BW as well. Other than TL (forums), options for connecting with other... human beings are somewhat limited. ![]() PS. Is it normal that the iccup website takes years to load, sometimes I have to refresh it several times in the process? And it's been like that forever for me tt.
