Well, stopping with CS and PC gaming in 2002 was pretty easy, I really didn't miss much. As I said CS after 1.4 was never what it used to be, so for me it really was a different game.

Also from gaming I transitioned more and more to programming and learning more about technology, which was for the most part more fascinating than actual playing.

I do get very nostalgic talking with my friends from back then about CS or Duke3D though. We try to organize at least one old school LAN per year where we try to reenact the the CS fun of old. Unfortunately we all get usually owned when someone brings their younger brother haha.
