its just jibberisch, like, its so hard to find data that matches year, and percentages of x, and all of that. like, the last bit, where i found swedish data on how many families there are with a kid under 18, and in german i only found how many ppl are living in families with one kid. its 1,1 mill vs 32 mill...

anyways, please look it over, i havent even tried to correct the grammar. you can be harsch on me i dont mind..

i gotta go eat and make new coffee. fml

Its not that bad as you make it out to be to be honest. Its totally clear to me what you are trying to say, and besides a few grammar issues (and german grammar IS really hard) it was okay. A few things sound better if you say it differently (and you can often circumvent grammar problems with different wording, too). My correction and a few proposed changes to make it "sound better" are underlined beneath.

Don´t get frustrated, its pretty normal that if you learn a new language the way you say or write things don´t seem to natural to some who was "born" with that language (I´m pretty sure for someone from the US or the UK my english sounds weird a lot of times, too, and thats after several years :D ).

I think one of the main problems is the number of diffrent articles for each declination, plus that articles are not given by any simple logic: der mann (masculine), die frau (feminine), das auto (neutral); but for example der stift (even if you think its neutral).
You can master it just by hearing and speaking it a long period of time. Even after years there are a lot of people who are still using articles wrong; it takes a lot of practice.

there are maaany rules (of course, all of them with exceptions) to what genus a substantiv has. when you know the different ones, you can make qualified guesses to what genus X has. adding to that, when u learn the declinations, u can make qualified guesses to what the plural should be.

for example, your example with woman, man (not car tho) and for example baby, that is the rule of "natural genus". if something is male, it will be M. if female, F. if something is young "das Baby, das Kalb and so on) it will be N. all other words fit into other categories.

there is a system! and im a firm believer that if you just put in the time it will all, one day, just make sense.

if there werent rules to it then anyone who wasnt born in to that language would be proper screwed!

here, i'm not actually familiar of how to use the word "zwar", as it doesnt really translte to good into swedish... for me, zwar makes sense if you use it here without the "und" ... is that a possibilty? or does "und zwar" mean "and that is" in english?

yeah im trying to say that more and more different ways of making a "family" are being created. passive-sentence-thingy =) didnt think id get that right lol...

because i want to emphasize that its most often just the woman who brings a kid with her into the relationship. if you put the "nur" after frauen, it will emphasize that they only bring one kid with them, no?

yeah gonna use this one:

liking it just a tad bit better.

"Zusammenlebende"

yeah thought i wanna gonna make it into a substantiv, but then i couldnt find it in a dictionary so i thought i'd just leave it small cased... dunno what to do here :/

and

Im trying to write: "A more open and liberal society in the west, makes it so that more and new family-constillations are continuesly/always being created"

doesnt make sense with "more and new", will change it to "new and different, like it was suggested. also, that is why i put the r's after the adjectives, to represent the "more" of the english language "a opener and liberaler" (but of course you cant say liberaler, therefor the "more")

yeah, no, im not gonna try and use passive as it actually doesnt make sense here, what do you guys think of this sentence?

dunno if erzeugen fits here but i found it in the dictionary.. should i stick with schaffen? and what should i do about my comparative adjectives? should i add an "than before" to make them more understandable?

Hey there,

"Version" is as correct as "Fassung" or "Ausführung".

Also:
- You have to use "offenere" and "freiheitlichere" because it's "die Gesellschaft".

- "Als früher" wouldn't fit there as it would mean that there was a more open and liberal society back then as it was in the west.
- You don't need the comma after "im Westen", it's not completely wrong but you shouldn't use it there.
- "Erzeugt" sounds weird, "erschafft" seems to fit better .

Regarding "groß- Und kleinschreibung"(see what I did there?), have a look at this:
http://odl.vwv.at/deutsch/odlres/res4/gk_RS2.htm

I don't know if you're able to understand this to 100%, but as far as I judge your german skills it should be no problem for you, you seem to have a pretty solid understanding of the language.

Hi I have a question too. A German guy said "Es ist nur zum spät". and about finding Germans "Deutch zum sprechen"

Why did he say zum and not zu? Does zum mean in order to and not zu?

thank you very much!

yeah that comma there stuck around from earlier when i had the sentence written in another way .

will use schaffen, ty. tricky verb that btw, having two completely different meanings when its stark and schwach.

--
just rounding up the text now, it was a bit shorter than i would have wanted but right now im only doing as much as i have to to get a decent grade on anything we do. kinda fed up as everythings just mounts on top of the next thing.

ill post the thing here later, but i mean... we're supposed to come to this conclusion after the comparisons, and my conclusion is retarded =) "the countries have similar families" =) hehe.

hey, random q, how do you say "beugen" in english? like, to "bend" a verb, only i dont think thats the verb u use? i googled it and couldnt find anything decent, dunno how to phrase the question. in swedish its the same as in german, "böja", so no help there ^^

Looking at how similar sweden in general is to germany(or vice versa) this is actually no retarded conclusion!

"to bow" would be pretty accurate for this!

JieXian:
Can you give a little bit of context here? You give two completely different situations here...
"Zu" has multiple uses, and "zum" CAN sometimes "translate"(not correct, but don't know how to say it) to "in order to", but its often used in the wrong way...
But I can tell you "Es ist nur zum spät" is definitely not right, in the very least it should be "es ist zu spät".

"Zum" is a combination of "zu" and "dem"(basically präposition + artikel), "bis zum Tag" is equivalent to "bis zu dem Tag"; it is only used if the article is unaccented.

Yes, it's 2 completely different situations. But I've just realised I made a mistake haha. What he said was

"Es ist nur zum Spaß" It's just for fun. A reply to my question "Warum denken alles Deutche das Bavaria Ausland ist?"

The second one is when I was trying to tell him (in broken very German) that it's hard to learn German without having people to speak to and he was completing my sentences for me while I was thinking.

I said : "Es ist schwer Deutch zu lernen denn Ich habe keine leuter zu sprechen."

He replied "Ahhh [something something] Deutch zum sprechen"

He's from Hamburg, did I hear wrongly or was what he said quite regional? I was quite sure about the M sound. Haven't met him in a long time to ask him about it.
