I challenge you to make wise choices as you try to survive and become a hero to your people in the process. You will have to make three choices: some easy and some hard. In the end will fate have your legacy the nexus of the civilization or will you merely be forgotten. You decide!
About the author: A Korean grade 6 student who has spent only the last 10 months in Canada. Story used with permission. I wrote the story down verbatim, any errors are his. Why: I thought it would be a cool interesting story to share Length: It will take about 5 minutes How does it work?: Open the A1 spoiler and read it. Choose if you want to go to B1 or B2 and then only open the one you go to. Repeat as necessary. Also survive!
A1 + Show Spoiler +A1 “Oh no! We are in trouble! They invented the powerful weapon. I must tell them.” You ran away after you saw the secret of Kerrigan, the leader of the Zerg armies. “I will better run away secretly, their ears are pretty sensitive.” Suddenly you made a sound of crack. “Men!” You tried to think how to hide. Really really fortunately, you a place. As soon as you hid you could see the roaring sound of three zerglings. You were totally freaked out. You tried your best to be quiet. After a long while, you put, little bit of you head out of the hidden place. No one or no zerglings were there. You kept running away. “Oh oh!” Two giant Ultralisks were blocking you. You could have two choices. You could run away but there wasn’t really way to run. Still, you could try your best. You also could just surrender and be captured. How are you going to survive? Run away? Or just surrender?
Run away -> Go to B1 Surrender ->Go to B2
B1 + Show Spoiler +B1 You were really really lucky. The Ultralisks were blind. They could not see you. So you tried your best not be caught. You threw big rocks to the opposite side where you were going. The Ultralisks followed the rocks and you ran away. You felt really great. But not really since you saw the large field without green colours. You could see some wild animals. Luckily, they weren’t hungry, suddenly, you saw two Big Signs: Terran Base (North) and Protoss Base (East)
Go to Terran Base -> Go to C1 Go to Protoss Base ->Go to C2
B2 + Show Spoiler +B2 You surrendered but the Ultralisks were blind. “Yes! I am lucky!” said you. You started to run away. Eve you could not run away really far the famous warriors called “Zerg Predators” came to you and caught you. Your arms weren’t grabbed by them just like when you got caught by Terran vultures the police. However, you felt bad. You thought about your future called death or slave. You felt really bad until you found a chance. You could just run away.
Run away -> Go to C3 Just stay -> Go to C4
C1 + Show Spoiler +C1 You chose to go to North. The way that leads you to the Terran Base. You tried to go as fast as you could but your hurt your legs when you were hiding from the zerglings. You could see a brownish paper. It was a map. The map told you all the way among the three tribes. The traveler seemed to be like a person to me or the scientist from our (Terran) base. Anyhow, I did not know he died. Suddenly, I saw the half broken sign. It said “mine field”. I knew how to get out. I said the password out loud. Then, the mine all seemed to accept me to go in. They were actually just a few small robots looked like mines. As soon as I arrived I could see Valkries, Battlecruisers and wraithes leaving the base. “The war between Terran and Kaskkut’s I need to get ready!” Then, before the dropship were loading the marines, firebats, medics and the general Duran, Duran asked me if I wanted to fight in honour or fest in honour (?). You were thinking over. Duran is waiting.
Go to war and die in honour! -> Go to D1 Stay in honour for the next war against the Maneps ->Go to D2
C2 + Show Spoiler +C2 You chose to go to East. Suddenly you remembered that your general Duran reminded me again and again about the risk of this planet. This planet was made out of minotitanic acids (I just made it up). They often explode and sometimes it caused an earthquake as the acid under the ground was exploded and the earth sometimes get extremely hot causing a fire. Especially, the East side of this area has lots of small Minotitanic acid bubbles (I made them up again) causes lots of explosions. That was the reason why the Protoss Base is not touching the ground. However, I was going to the East. I could see the hole leading to the underground. You could see the brownish silver coloured bubbles coming out. They were almost going ot be crashed when I was already far away since I noticed it. The earth was exploded. “Wow! I can feel the vibrations of the earth all the way from here! I’ll better run away further!” You found the Protoss Base. “I am a interpretor for Terran. We like Terran.” Said the strange looking Protoss person. I had to train to be like Protoss to adapt the surroundings.
Be dragoon rider -> Go to D3 Be the carrier driver -> Go to D4
C3 + Show Spoiler +C3 You chose to run away. You ran as fast as you could as hydralisks and defilers were just in from of you. You failed running away. You were terrified as you thought they will kill you. They were famous for warm heart. They just put up with you. You were extremely lucky. You felt comfortable. You were still not in the Zerg Base. It was really far far away. Suddenly you remembered that you had some awesome weapons. You had mines looked like rocks.
Throw the Mines -> Go to D5 Stay -> Go to D6
C4 + Show Spoiler +C4 You stayed. Later, you arrived to the Zerg Base. They did not kill you. You were finally the citizen of the Zerg world. You were comfortable and you were accustomed with the land and the circumstance. After 3 years you were captured, you were almost going to be the leader. You could choose to be the leader or not.
Be the leader -> Go to D7 Stay -> Go to D8
D1 + Show Spoiler +D1 you went to the war and you did not die. You resigned being a soldier and returned to Earth.
D2 + Show Spoiler +D2 You stayed but a nuclear bomb came and you died.
D3 + Show Spoiler +D3 You chose to be a dragoon rider but you were dead by the Ultralisk warriors.
D4 + Show Spoiler +D4 You chose to be a carrier driver and that was the highest status. You became a hero in Protoss world.
D5 + Show Spoiler +D5 You threw the mine but also you were dead.
D6 + Show Spoiler +D6 You stayed and you became the king of Zergs
D7 + Show Spoiler +D7 You became the leader but the Kerrigan lovers murdered you secretly.
D8 + Show Spoiler +D8 You stayed and Zergs killed you because you did not accept to be the leader.
Poll: Did you survive?Survived! (55) 57% Died! (41) 43% 96 total votes Your vote: Did you survive? (Vote): Survived! (Vote): Died!
edit: I forgot to mention that this is a story by a foreign Korean student who has only been in Canada for 10 months. Thus their English is not that good.

Died at the last part
I didn't try to follow logic, just went with instincts.
|
I won. I just followed the korean commentator's advice:+ Show Spoiler +.
Would be a lot better if it made sense. Perhaps this will spark other people to do logical ones.

I died in battlefield

I second this post.

killed by kerrigan lovers FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
|
i was a soldier who retired and went home to earth...
yay?!
Edit: Lol at D7 )
|
D4 You chose to be a carrier driver and that was the highest status. You became a hero in Protoss world.
lol, it would have been better if it made sense. I did check to see what would have happened if I became a "Dragoon rider", but obviously, Dragoons always die stupidly, and thats exactly what would have happened.

Became king of zergs. Did not really expect that That's strange WTF?!
|
|
You stayed and Zergs killed you because you did not accept to be the leader. no

Me too. I would have thrown the mines at them, but I was touched by the warm hearts of the hydralisks and defilers. Those guys aren't so bad after all.
|
I died in a nuclear bomb.....LAME way to die
|
I got nuked, didn't make sense to go to war when you could barely walk \o/
|
Darn, should've been the Carrier driver instead! I was thinking it would be too predictable so I chose to ride atop a Dragoon.

I thought this stuff was too predictable i mean, picking A. Dragoon or B. Carrier. what would a new player pick. B. Carrier, of course. What would the verteran pick, A. Dragoon, of course the carrier lives and dragoon dies though.
|
I became a carrier pilot, good thing I made that genius decision to trick the Ultralisks with my rock throwing abilities ^^
|
|
very interesting and sorta cute that you took the time to listen to a 6th grader and wrote what he said down. but, shouldn't a 10-11 year old be able to express himself a lot better than that?

I'm confused why the first thought after making the cracking noise is "MEN!"

I died abruptly and for reasons beyond my comprehension.

This sort of thing with polished grammer would be pretty neat. Somebody should go through and re-do the grammer, but keep the same story, then give it back to the kid (with a pat on the back telling him it's pretty good for grade 6)

taking a stab at rewriting the story, i'll upload it here when i'm done
edit: i mean fixing the grammar and such, the story is that same, sorry if that was confusing
|
i threw the mines but also i was dead!
|
I survived...because carriers are imba. At least in sc1 they are.

My bad. I forgot to mention that he is a KOREAN student studying in Canada for just the 2009-10 school year. He has very good English for being in Canada for only 10 months but not compared to his peers (obviously). He knows a little about SC, I don't think he knows the adage: carriers = instant win. Also he is leaving today or tomorrow back to Korea!

Really? Thank you! I really appreciate it.

Damn, this is really cool!
|
here's what i have so far, i did a lot more than correct the grammar but tried to keep the story more or less the same. constructive criticism is appreciated. (i'll put the rest in this post later).
Should i keep making these? does anybody care anymore?
+ Show Spoiler [A1] +You realized the moment you laid eyes on the towering, fleshy monstrosity what it was, and what it could mean. Under the direction of Kerrigan, The Queen of Blades, The Zerg had been evolving a new weapon in a secret cave. Now, deep inside the Zerg stronghold, only you can warn the others. You must flee, but quietly, for the Zerg have keen senses, and if you are discovered... well, best not to think about it. As you make your way towards the exit, you hear a loud "Crack!", frozen in place, you look down in horror at the now broken bone under your left boot. You know your only chance now is to hide. Your hopes begin to sink as you scan desperately for a place to conceal yourself, the sound of the Zerg drawing ever closer. Luck is on your side however as at the last minute, you spot a nearly invisible recess in the nearby cavern wall. Only a moment after you slip into the crack, three Zerglings enter the immediate area. Your mind racing, you do everything you can to keep quiet, trying not to think about the sharp claws of the hellish creatures only a few metres away. After what feels like an eternity, you poke your head out of your hiding place and, seeing that the Zerglings have moved on, proceed towards the exit. After a short time the exit is in your sight, but there's a problem. Not one but a pair of terrifying Ultralisks are blocking your path. Rooted in place by fear, only two options enter your mind. Will you make a mad dash for the exit? or surrender and hope that the Zerg refrain from tearing you into little, wet, pieces?
To run like hell, Go to B1. To surrender, Go to B2.
+ Show Spoiler [B1] + Luck is truly on your side today, the moment you begin to run, some of the cavern wall on the opposite side of the area comes crashing down, masking the sound of your footsteps until you are safely past the Ultralisks, who moved to inspect the disturbance. Upon reaching the outside, you realize that they are in fact blind Ultralisks. Doubtless victims of an optical flare in a past clash with the Terran Dominion. Thankfully, the desert you now gaze upon contains only wild animals foraging for non-existent greens, none nearly as dangerous as the Zerg. Dominating the scene, however, are two large signs: the first reads: "TERRAN BASE", and points to the north. The second written is a language you recognize as Protoss glyphs, and points to the east.
To go north to the Terran base, go to C1 To go east to the Protoss base, go to C2
+ Show Spoiler [B2] +as you prostrate yourself and declare your surrender, you notice that the Ultralisks are blind. Cursing your decision to surrender you attempt to run away, but only get around five meters before you are stopped painfully by the fleshy behemoths. it reminds you of the time you got arrested back on mar sara, only this time there are no handcuffs, and more pain. You think of your future prospects as either a corpse or a slave, neither of which seem terribly appealing to you. Meanwhile the Ultralisks seem to have lost interest in you. Do you attempt to run for a second time? Or simply stay where you are?
To run away go to C3 To stay put go to C4
+ Show Spoiler [C1] +As you head North towards the Terran base as fast as you can manage, an injury you picked up hiding from the Zerglings is starting to slow you down. You spot a faded piece of paper on the path ahead. As you approach the paper you realize that it is in fact a map of the surrounding area. With a detailed representation of the secret ways used by the three tribes nearby. The language, however, is your own, suggesting that perhaps the map was penned by a research scientist from the Terran base. Perhaps still alive. You see ahead of you a decrepit wooden sign reading "Mine Field". Luckily you know how to gain safe passage. You say loudly and clearly the password given to you to temporarily deactivate the mines. The mines beep audibly to indicate that it is safe for you to pass, which you do. As you reach the end of the minefield you can see the Terran base on the horizon. Battlecruisers, Valkyries, and Wraiths all coming and going. At this point, having made it back safely, you remember the imminent war between the Terran and Kaskkut. When you arrive at the base, you are greeted by General Duran, who you inform of the new Zerg superweapon. Duran seems completely unfazed and asks you if you want to join the fight against the Kaskkut, motioning to the dropships loading up infantry behind him. Duran appears eager to depart. Do you board a war bound dropship for death and honour? Or stay and wait for the coming war against the Maneps?
To go to war go to D1 To stay here go to D2

I thought the carrier was gonna get scourged so I got owned by ultralisks on the goon.

carriers are too imba

heh, chose carriers because I figured that in order to be a dragoon I'd have to be dead (after all, they are dead protoss in spider bodies). Now I'm hero of the toss

Wow, nostalgia'd sooooooooo hard. In fact dug through bookshelf to see if I had any of those books left over form elementary school.
