Yeah, they're going back on a lot of stuff they said earlier. But then again, almost every game ever has done that so it's no biggie. As long as it's balanced, who cares at the end of the day. I mean, I personally would rather everything be 100% balanced but really weird than stick to canon and have Jedi's running around 1 shotting everyone and being completely ridiculous.
The release date is still yet to be shown, so if they listen to feedback and whatnot I might get a trial account or something from a friend who's playing it and try it out for a month or whatever the time limit is. I really do want an MMO to replace my Galaxies.

Looks like we're getting the standard raid model in TOR as well. Meh, not super pumped but at least there are plans for the endgame, so many MMOs these days just utterly fail at providing adequate endgame content (*glares at DDO, LotRO, 900 free MMOs*)

Well yeah, that's been known for God knows how long. I remember seeing videos over a year ago of them doing instances and the only difference between the standard model being that they have less players in them than the 5 man / 10 man / 25 man / 40 man or whatever. I dont know how they'll do raids in a Star Wars universe though. Like yeah, killing sith and jedi but how do you do that? In WoW, Horde and Alliance essentially kill the same bosses in raids. Yeah, they got different instances where they kill different people -- but in raids they fight the same bosses essentially. In Raids, either they fight the same people -- and if so, then who? Or they fight Sith/Jedi and they got to make raids for both sides, which will be a bit iffy.

This raid video shows the sith attacking, and the premise is neutral: Ancient race locked away in dark corner of dark prison on dark world is about to break out, break into the prison whose defenses have gone haywire and kill them before they destroy everything.
It's basically Arcatraz on crack to make the WoW comparison.

I'm betting on a christmas/spring release, personally.
TBH I could really care less about raids (ghey pve). I'm hoping that mythic's influence means there will be some serious pvp endgame.

It most likely wont be coming out this year, and if it is the very, very end of the year to get the Christmas rush if anything if that's what you mean.

Oh I agree. Even though they are saying it will I expect a delay.

Since your wrote earlier: "No one "managed" to get banned for "trash talking" their games. People got banned unexpectedly" "If it's anything like DA2's launch where they perma ban people from playing their games"
I challenge you to provide ANOTHER different case from the one you mentioned. Because from my understanding of English talking about "people" means multiple persons. Maybe I'm wrong with that.
Because if you actually tell the whole story and not only the parts which favour your side of it it looks different. EA apologized to the player, unbans him and multiple news sites (example) report that EA said: "EA strictly enforces the code of conduct at Social.BioWare.com. If a player violates the rules by using profanity, they will be temporarily banned. Unfortunately, there was an error in the system that accidentally suspended a user's entire account. Immediately upon learning of the glitch, EA took steps to restore the user's macro account and apologized for the inconvenience"
So there was ONE case - not multiple (implied by 'people') and they said it was an error in the system. You may believe that's just a shady excuse - but that's a different point. But it being the only known case is strengthening their side of the story - not yours.

I bet it'll cost about 15$ a month like most others, they won't announce it but I will be surprised if its less/more then that.

It was definitely on their website somewhere that they were doing the standard subscription.

They don't need to announce anything. It will be ~15$/Month. More would end in a Flamefest and cheaper would be stupid by EA.

Good to hear! Is it all on one test server or is it split up? How populous are the servers at this point?

I guess you really cant talk about the game, but do you guys get any info of whats going on? Rumors say that a stresstest has begun. I would very much like to know if this is true, cuz if its true, we can expect a release fairly soon.
