I was bored again and decided to do this. This is how the Grand Finals and the Playoffs would turn out if the league ended today. Enjoy
Playoff Brackets 1 (Zenio) vs 20 (MoMaN) 10 (HasuObs) vs 11 (SjoW)
2 (Fenix) vs 19 (Ensnare) 9 (Nada) vs 12 (DarkForcE)
3 (IdrA) vs 18 (iNcontroL) 8 (KiWiKaKi) vs 13 (Axslav)
4 (Sheth) vs 17 (TT1) 7 (MC) vs 14 (Cruncher)
5 (Ace) vs 16 (Socke) 6 (Naniwa) vs 15 (MaNa) Remember, only the winner of each bracket will advance to the Grand Finals! Each bracket is single elimination and games are bo3. The playoffs will be broadcast next week, after the conclusion of the regular season. Also note, these brackets can/will change after Week 9 has been played. Make your predictions today.

I just hope it doesnt end up Idra vs iNcontroL

pretty much stopped caring about nasl, it's like major league baseball way too long of a season with so many meaningless games

It'd be fun. Inc could open game one with Hallucinations, and destroy his own Nexus g2 for a quick 2-0. + Show Spoiler +
In all seriousness though, this is just what it'd look like if it ended today.

Wait isn't he saying Idra is vs iNcontroL? He didn't edit his post or anything. I'm confused...
Am I getting trolled?

I assume everyone is ranked independent of groups, Xeris? So, not players 3-6 per group?

Zenio/SjoW, Nada, MC, Idra and Ace/Naniwa would probably win their bracket pretty easy.

There are four tiers of outcome (qualified, in playoffs, safe for next season, eliminated) and almost everyone ends up in a place where switching one or two games would have changed which tier they're in. It's just that it's the first season, so people early on didn't realize how much a change of one match would matter later and NASL has done a horrible job of explaining that as they went. (No division rankings before and after matches each day, etc.)

IdrA against 3 protosses. LOL

I still can't understand this logic. Why are the games meaningless? Do you think the quality of the games is worse because it's not a finale or a 3 day tournament? Are the GSL finals of better quality because the big money is right in front of them? Do you want to see more cheesing or what is it?
I enjoy watching a lot of sc2 games and the nasl format is the best when it comes to potentially great games because there are so many games. The more the merrier! If you have a problem with the format, stop watching for now and come back to the finals.

I really like the format. The people who are most consistent are the ones who advance. I think it gives a really good picture of the relative skill levels of each player

Would love to see mana vs nani. Also sheth vs TT1 and idra vs inc would be awesome.

when even the players don't take the league seriously and don't care to login for matches or communicate with nasl it pretty much proves my point that a lot of matchups are meaningless.. spending months having everyone play best of 3s with each other online isn't really proving anything, just get on with it.

Here's my logic: A) Koreans have to deal with lag and awful times and therefore play bad games, taking up space that up-and-coming NA/EU players could've taken (Thorzain was rejected e.g.) B) If you're facing someone in a Bo3 that doesn't even mean elimination for you, you're quick to just surrender a game if it's going badly, not playing to your best or just going in with a defeatist attitude from the start. Imagine if Thorzain faced MC who is considered the best Protoss and who he thought to be much better than him in a simple NASL Bo3. We would've never gotten the sick games we did in TSL. It was do-or-die for Thorzain, so he practiced his ass off and barely edged out the win. C) There are so many games, not even the most devout of fans watch them all. That just further reduces the perceived quality of the entire league. This is an important concept in product design, cut out the crap and only deliver the best imaginable. Apple cut their product portfolio to ~11 products, focusing on making the best products they can and has insane brand value as a result. I'd much rather have 10 sick matches than 50 so-so matches.
What i would love to see, would be a big tournament (Go4Sc2 size with 1000 sign ups), where every BoX means elimination and you have a far cash prize at the end, which would encourage all the top players to sign up..

I would really like to see them do 10 groups of 5 players next season.
Round one would be round robin in your group. Takes 4 weeks. 1st and 2nd of each group advances to round 3.
Round two you have 6 groups of 5 players doing round robin in their group. Takes 4 weeks. 1st/2nd of each group advances to round 3.
Round 3 is a 32 person Bracket. Ro32 takes place online. Ro16/Ro8/Ro4/Ro2 is offline.
If you don't make the 32 person Bracket, you aren't guaranteed to be in next season.
That leaves 18 spots for new people. It does get rid of the $10 open tournament for a spot in the offline finals.

The games mean a lot... if you're in the playoffs it's MUCH harder to qualify. If you get top 2 you get $1,000 minimum :p

Umm i thought boxer and sen are ahead of zenio and idra??? NVM : play offs for the last spots lol

This is why idra and zenio are here, these are the playoffs to get into the offline finals. (if the NASL ended today instead of at the end of the week)
Edit: the funny thing, is that if almost everything stayed the same here, Sheth would of wanted to be 5th, to be seeded into the all protoss division considering how strong his PvZ is...
Would be kind of funny for divisions 4 and 5, as they will know the general makeup of the play off brackets, and will be able to try and snipe a spot through a certain number of wins/losses.
Also, in the playoffs are 11 of the 15 protoss. 4 of the 15 zerg, and 5 of the 20 Terran.

Are you sure that the standings on NASL site are correct ? dde, for example... didn't he win vs HayPro few days ago ? Then did his score become 4-4 (not 3-5) ? He won vs Strelok,Axslav,Slush (is it correct ? )
BratOK... are you sure that his record is really (3-5 -6) ?
This would be bratok's results:
2-0 1-2 2-1 2-1 0-2 1-2 0-2 0-2
Then, his record would be the following: (3-5 -4)... right ?
Please, re-check all the standings.
Thanks

I rather idra get that group than one with naniwa/MC
