Just something I've been thinking of while playing on the ladder.
Is there any relevance in the fact that sometimes zergs will get shafted with hatch placement? My point being, that if a zerg is in a 12 o'clock position, the drones have to travel around the hatch and to the rally, before they finally start mining, whereas Protoss and Terrans' workers come straight out of the closest point of the CC/Nexus and start mining a LOT faster than drones would.
Does this affect the zerg player in the beginning stages of the game? or is it such a minuscule difference that it doesn't even matter?
There was a thread on this before and the general response, which I agree with, is that it just doesn't matter.
Zerg's get more workers out faster so it doesn't make a difference
The difference is so small that it really makes no difference. Zerg doesn't get majorly shafted and whatnot just because of their spawn position (other than close position, and that's an entirely different matter...)
There is positional imbalance in zvz, yes. In the other matchups it washes out because zerg gets more workers anyways
It doesn't matter and also keeping the larvae on one side of the hatch means you can actually click on the eggs, they'll never be blocked by the hatchery.

this was 100 times worse in bw. assuming you're talking about Sc2. If it wasn't a problem then, then it's for sure not a problem now hahah
