And he voted for Artosis to get in, which considering his passion for sc can only be commended. Oh and even though i dont know if he deserves to be in it based on pure skill, if it was based on the apllication Destiny should get a spot  | ||

One last thing... we need Koreans if we want the foreign scene to keep up. I am not saying the foreign scene is way behind, but if we want to at the least stay close... we will need Koreans playing in foreign tournaments to motivate people to try harder and win. I really feel it is for the best, and while I completely agree that I love seeing the foreign personalities... more so than the Koreans, they are still a very important factor that I look forward to watching... especially in MANY matches against top foreigners... not just a few. To add on to that, I believe MC has said that he is learning English and hopes that in this year or the next that it would be good enough that he would be able to post on TL. I've also heard that several other oGs members have very good English and others are also actively learning. As for whether they would come to/contribute to our community; You would also have to look at it with some practicality in mind, would you up-root yourself and go to the US to play in a new league? Or stay in Korea and enjoy the financial comfort and security that comes with playing for a team in Korea and competing in the GSL. Now if the NASL say in 5 years was still around, which I really hope so. I would not be surprised if Koreans came to the US to play. Professionals go where they can, and where the biggest tournaments and the best players are. | ||

People have claimed that viewers don't want to see two 'average' NA players duking it out, they want to see the best of the best. Maybe this is true of us TL members. But i do not believe for a second this is true of a general audience. They want to see players they can relate to, players they can support and cheer for (and it is clear, if the players were chosen for the NASL based off their skill level at the moment it'd be at least 50% Korean and Koreans would probably pick up 8 spots in the top 10). Why else do you think the foreigner matches in the GSL are so popular? Jinro and idra aren't the two best players in the world, but i can almost guarantee people want to see that more than say MC vs HongUn. Why is Husky so popular? Not because he is the most analytical commentator but because he can build excitement and appeal to an audience beyond the diehard fans. Once there is an audience and market for esports, THEN the skill level and player dedication will come. It doesn't work the other way around. So that probably went beyond what is relevant to this thread, but in short the NASL does not need Koreans and probably shouldn't have too many in order to succeed. NASL has stated that they wanted top players (although due to cross-server play they might limit) but that doesn't mean that they'll completely ignore players from korean scene. What's the point of having a tournament when better players get left out :\ Since it is online, I guess it makes it alot more difficult where as GSL was offline and anyone could go - but there was the constraint of having to actually be there. At the end of the day NASL is going to have to make the calls on who gets in and not everyone is going to be happy (i.e. always someone complaining about something). Also I would like to add that if a lesser known foreigner plays a korean and wins, then that guy will be instantly famous among foreigners and we can see a "story" develop. *Please consider letting the highest caliber of players into the NASL Xeris, Incontrol* My decision to buy premium will be acting on whether i see shitty players or great players. | ||

Talk about the GSL being so open to foreigners so the NASL should do the same is kind of weird. The GSL requires you to move to another country, if the NASL required the same and said Koreans will have to move here for a month to play it is not exactly being open towards Koreans. The situations of both of these tournaments are very different and it is hard to compare what it means to be open to international players because the setting is so different. Like I said if the NASL did the same as the GSL nobody would say they are being open towards Koreans. Hosting their matches online and letting Koreans in is so much more open than the GSL has ever been and probably ever will be. Let the NASL make their own decisions and motivate them. If they feel they cannot grow esports in North America with 8 Koreans in the top 8 then excluding them means their tournament may survive and the scene may grow. If they feel like having the best players in the world is the best way to make their tournament grow then they will pick a lot of Koreans. Most likely they will go for some mix where there are a few Koreans in a mostly non-Korean tournament. Either way whatever they decide to go with I can accept as long as they have the proper motivation for the situation. There are plenty of good arguments for doing it either way and a conscious decision is all we can ask for from them. The case of TSL2 to justify excluding Koreans should also not be brought up as a comparison. As these kind of decisions need to be motivated with arguments anyone can see that the situation is completely different. The TSL1-2 decision was so far apart from anything the NASL has to decide on it's ridiculous to say that we did it in the TSL so it's okay for the NASL to do so now as well. TSL would have been dominated by B players nobody has heard about in a scene where Koreans had a full proscene and the foreign scene had nothing hosted by an organization who already made it its life goal to support the Korean proscene with coverage and other things. The decisions we made there are completely irrelevant to todays situation. If someone wants to exclude Koreans to their tournament nowadays he needs to have a different motivation for it than we did because the reasoning we used is not applicable anymore. Loved the Startale videos and hope they let some of them in. | ||

Is there no money prize? Is there no drive and competitive spirit? What is the point of a tournament? I am extremely disappointed that some members in TL believe that e-sports will grow without Korean influence. The chances of 8 Koreans filling up the top 8 is the same as the chance of no koreans filling up the top 8. Don't use biased examples to skew opinion in your favor. Obviously players who lack the necessary requires of competing in an e-sport will feel that excluding better players gives them a better chance at obtaining the money they seek. | ||

I don't see that the koreans are so ungodly and untouchable. I think the very very top players in korea are better than the very very top in EU / NA. But this does not mean that every korean in the NASL gets an auto-win. | ||
