Ya I can't stop agreeing with this... and even more so now after seeing ST applying. I wonder if they will say yes to July since he is the biggest name from ST, or if they will go with someone like Bomber who really has no results, but at the same time can focus more on the league since he never seems to do well in the GSL.

I hope some Koreans get invited just because it becomes a lot more "legit" with at least 1 korean in every group of 10. I'm really interested what type of breakdown they do for NA/EU/Kor players

I have a lot of mixed feelings about the Koreans participating. On one hand, I really want a global scene, and I think it'd be unfair to leave out a superior player because of their race or nationality. On the other hand, I really do want to see a major tournament which NA/EU players can really hope to dominate in. If Koreans decide to join this and then future MLGs and stuff, it'll be pretty tough for that to happen unless the pros over here REALLY decide to step it up and go from working hard to working Korean progamer hard.

This . 10 koreans in the least is a good amount to start with if people are worried that they are giving them free money .

I don´t know why so many are upset about koreans trying to come in. I mean the results of IEM showed different but squirtle really had a hard time there. Especially Socke really showed him the he is very vulnerable in this matchup. (5:2 matchscore or something)
And maybe some up- and coming Player takes maps of a korean or even beat him and shows everyone his true potential. Or gets more motivated because he is playing someone like a julyzerg.
I would love to see some koreans in the NASL!

I keep repeating myself, but Foreigners aren't that much worse than Koreans. People need to get beyond defeating themselves before they even begin. There is nothing inherent in Koreans that make them better than Foreigners. Just like Americans are the best in the world at Baseball and Basketball, it isn't because we are born that way, but because we have the institutions that create the environment where we simply play more than anyone else. More time into any activity will mean you will become better. The reason Koreans can play more than Foreigners right now is because they live doing it -- just like Americans can live playing Baseball, yet Europeans can't. I think a lot of people will be surprised how well the Foreigners will do, especially given an equal environment. (That is -- if they invite the best Foreigners and not just the 'well known' players. There are a lot of players better than the community known people)
Thank you bureaucrats for all your hard work, your commitment to public service and public good is essential to the lives of so many. Also, for Pete's sake can we please get some gun control already, no need for hand guns and assault rifles for the public

This.
I haven't read all the posts in this thread, but I just want to say that if there are SC2 players who don't want to play games against the IMMvps or the Julyzergs of the world, shame on them. And shame on them if they are people who consider themselves "top NA players" and "pro" enough to deserve a spot in NASL.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Nice videos by startale haha! Hope some of them get in! Would be best for whole esports, you can only become better if you play against the best of the best. They might dominate first season, then for season 2 more people train harder, western gaming houses and who knows

On top of that, I really think the western scene can compete with koreans. Especially when they get to play from their comfortable environment.

Reading through the thread, the most vocal opponents of the Koreans seem to be players/teams that are likely on the margin for spots in NASL.

Pretty much this (Pokebunny and NrG guy)
I like how they use the entertainment aspect for themselves to vocalize their dislike of having Koreans in the tourney when they are themselves competitors.

This is a competitive league, if you are planning to play in it at least have some confidence or try to practice. At least be humbled that you will be playing against some of the best players to see where you stand if you really enjoy the game at all and wants to improve.

All I see is these semi pros:
1/ Koreans might take my spots
2/ If I get in, I will get beaten because I don't practice hard enough for a league that I want to win in so I'll whine instead and hope that the organizers/fans not pick too many koreans that worked really hard to earn prestige and yes this huge money pool

This is why I rather watch foreigners because this is their lifeline, our pros over here don't have that same passion for the game if they aren't willing to compete for the biggest tournament we have over here with the world's best and opt to try for the easy route.

I would cheer for them if:
1/ They express some excitement for competition versus the best of the best instead
2/ Play to improve, I see a lot of NA pros see sc2 as a popularity contest instead of improving their skills
3/ Stop spreading xenophobic ideals to the easily persuaded community (who are consisted of a lot of younger kids who will be influenced by their social cognition)

As for the argument that the more casual gamers won't be pleased watching koreans instead of "white players", it is true to some extent but have you seen the World Cup? Asians break out in excitement while watching England or Brazil with their impeccable plays and always watch en masses even though Asians suck shit at soccer. Now the casual gamers won't understand the finesse of sc2 by just watching, but then it is the casters' job to describe it to them how good the foreigners are and hopefully will reel them in by providing backgrounds and talk about how different their cultures are to pique the interest. Makes me sick reading comments about how white people like watching other whites/koreans watching other koreans. This is subliminally/implicitly true somewhat in our mentality but don't promote it over a social environment.

I think it would hurt the NASL more, not accepting koreans rather than having them. At the moment I feel that almost every player that has submitted an application so far should get in. I mean really, who doesn't want to see the best North American, and European players play, with koreans to boot?

This only makes it more exciting, it is sad when the NA, EU and KO players are separated.
This is awesome!

I don't think the goal of the NASL is not to find the best player globally, not yet anyway. It's to expand esports in the west and support the players/teams here.

some koreans in the NASL would be great, but clearly the NASL should be north american dominate for the first season atleast. I imagine they will expand a lot more for future seasons.
