Also, Razer appears to have changed the font on newer models of both versions. the Original had many lower case letters such as b,e among others whereas the newer versions all the keys are capitalized except the R. My ultimate has the older set, and my standard has the newer set. Even some new reviews show the newer (almost all caps) keycaps. Its weird that they wouldn't capitalize the r but all other letters.

Im not sure if this is due to the keyboard sucking or being broken.

Get yourself something nice you beastly Terran. Filco time? Wouldn't be surprised if your APM is too fast to keep up w/ the keyboard, though N-Key I'm pretty sure has to do w/ simultaneous key presses. and 1a2a3a isn't, nor does it seem SUPER fast.

I got this one for free so was using it t.t Anyway, my theory is this: - Razer Blackwidow uses blue switches, blue switches need to be fully released before they can be pressed again. - 1+a works fine simultaneously (tested with the recommended nkey rollover tester here: http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=NKey Rollover - Overview Testing Methodology and Results), however if you go 1a2 the 2 does not get recognized. Therefore my theory is that I press 1a2a too fast, leading to 2 being pressed before 1a has been released, and thus not being recognized. So, that sucks.

I know the Razer BlackWidow doesn't have full N-Key rollover, but if I remember correctly shouldn't the drivers allow for you to set popular combination of key presses such that it would work as if you had rollover? Perhaps I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that somewhere, and it may work if you set 1a2a3a4a5a in the drivers.

Blue switches differ from most other switch designs in that it has a reset point different from it's activation point, so trying to double tap, ect. is rather difficult if you are used to other switch designs. This last part is purely speculation, but I know some usb keyboards will have improved nkey rollover by using a ps2 adapter.

I have the regular BW and I just tested it using this link http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/content/projects/KeyboardGhostingDemo.aspx and got the same problem. If I press 1a and then press 2 too fast, as in before 1 and 'a' get released, it doesn't register 2. Never ran in to that problem in game though and I'm finding it hard to mimic using that tester without just holding 1 and a before pressing 2.

I only put that because the descriptions for both the filco and leopold keyboards mention using a usb->ps2 converter to gain nkey rollover. It didn't make a whole lot of sense to me either unless the bottleneck is the usb controller on the motherboard. http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold,tenkeyless&pid=fc200rtab

The USB interface itself does not allow for the nkey rollover by their design, so by converting the signal from USB to PS/2 won't help in the first place. It works because keyboard doesn't output USB when you use the adapter, the keyboard controller detects that it is plugged in via PS/2 and switches to PS/2 mode (this is why some keyboards don't work with PS/2 adapters - their controllers don't support ps/2 output). However, PS/2 only gives you NKRO if the keyboard is designed to support it, which the black widow is not. It works fine for most people, but is a bit of a hack and results in the keyboards not working with Macs.
