Got my tenkeyless Filco for $120 with shipping from PCHome back when they had stock and the $10 worldwide shipping promotion. Overall experience with the browns have been overwhelmingly positive for me. Tactile feedback is great, despite others saying that it's there but not noticeable. You get used to the amount of force needed to actuate the key after typing on the board for quite some time. The low force is great, I find myself typing a lot faster and finding my fingers a lot less fatigued. The keyboard responds very well, which helps me out with my own SC2 play and any extended typing that I have to do. The sound of the keyboard is going to be louder than a rubber dome when typing. The keyboard can be loud if you consistently bottom out; that can be fixed with typing a lot with your board and learning the actuation point of your own board. Hope this mini review helps you out, I have posted a full review on Geekhack here if you're interested: http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:15321

If anyone was wondering you could use this plugin to use the multimedia keys while you're playing a full screen game etc...works great on my Blackwidow http://www.everythingitunes.com/os/windows/2008-01-04/mmkeysdll/

I would like to know though if anyone has gotten the provided configurator sw to switch profiles back to a default when you exit out of SC2? Currently I have a profile for SC2 and when I enter the game the profile switches to it no probs, but when I exit the game (not alt-tab), the SC2 profile is still loaded. I'd rather have the 'default' profile loaded back. Anyone know how to do this?

Can any BW owner do me a kind favor and check on this page: http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/content/projects/KeyboardGhostingDemo.aspx If you can press 3+a+4 and 4+a+5? I imagine you can't press 1+a+2, and as I use 3, 4 & 5 for my army on SC2, I don't want to have the same problem as Jinro when quickly pressing 3a4a5a. Thank you very much!

I currently have a Logitech G11, which is backlit, and the backlighting bothers me in a weird way. Earlier versions of the G11 had black keys with semi transparent white paint. When the backlight was enabled, the light glowed through the white. When it was disabled, it was just plain white. My version of the G11 had pure black keys, so without the backlight, markings on keys were not visible. I touch type perfectly, so is only an issue for me in a very specific circumstance. If I'm kinda leaning back in my chair, without my hands resting on the keyboard, I can't identify any keys. The reflection of my monitor on the keys washes out the blue lighting, and without the added white marking, it's unreadable. This would happen if I were watching a video full screen, and just sitting back and eating something. If I wanted to reach forward and type something (like an IM to someone), I had a hard time typing one handed since I couldn't identify the keys at a glance. Does the Blackwidow's backlighting have a similar issue?

I'm wondering how much the 2key rollover matters also wondering about the release point if the mx blues compared to a membrane key.

But in all seriousness, when the keyboard arrived I pulled it out of the packaging and one of the keys was popped off. I thought it wasn't in there at all to begin with, but then I noticed it laying on the floor. I picked it up and popped it back on and it seems to be just fine. I wouldn't blame it on Razer, I am guessing it got slammed around a little bit in the Fed-Ex truck and the key popped off. No biggie. I would definately reccomend people to give the Blackwidow a go. If you have a little extra cash and like having backlit keys, go with the Ultimate. If backlit keys do not really matter to you I would just get the regular one, because it is the difference between $80 and $130 if I remember correctly.

Not having the dedicated media keys isn't really an issue since there's at least still a keyboard shortcut still there. I must say, I do like this new setup for SC2. Black Widow Ultimate (I always play in the dark so lighting is just more comfortable for me). Lachesis 5600, and the Banshee, which should be coming in the mail soon. Can't wait to try those out.
