old stuff that I posted (asking for feedback):
+ Show Spoiler +
It would be nice if you do 2 things in the comments (or PM):
1.) Give me feedback on these rules. You'd be surprised to hear the non-existence of the feedback!
2.) Suggest ways to find sponsorship. I'm not necessarily looking for names of companies, but contacts, ideas, information, etc are welcome. The place to organize this is new (they opened their business a couple of months ago - and it is also their first SC2 tournament). They have only 10 PCs(albeit high end), but plenty of space to BYOPC; mostly videogame consoles. They want 50% of the sign-up fee - it's understandable, they need to make money too - but that doesn't leave much for prizes.
Tournament title:
CHICAGO-LAND 1V1 GAME PAZZO TOURNAMENT, SAT. MARCH 19TH 2011
RULES:
Double elimination brackets from www.challonge.com (No matter how many players participate. Random placement between seeds of the same level, not in strict order of ranking).

Maps: Current/ex Ladder +/- a couple of others ( + Shakuras Plateau, - Slag Pits). MLG maps? GSL maps? No round should be played on the same map. Players should agree on what maps to play (arrange maps in order of their preference).
You can pause the game if there is a malfunction. The opponent is not to resume unless both players agreed through chat.
You can't play in this tournament from another location. You have to be at Game Pazzo in Downers Grove, IL.
You can't play the music out loud from your PC. Either use headphones or no headphones at all.

PAY-IN and PAY-OUT:
+ Show Spoiler +
When you arrive at the facility, pay $15 in cash/credit/debit to a Game Pazzo staff. I am not a member of Game Pazzo staff, so I don't handle the money. At the end of the tourney, the top 4 will receive the (cash?) prizes.
1st place $50
2nd place $30
3rd place $20
4th place Free game time card.
50% 1st place 30% 2nd place 20% 3rd place Free game time card for 4th place. (we have a 5 and a 10 hour game card that includes game rentals $1 rentals and $7 an hour= $80 value)
They will be making a budget from this tournament to make for bigger payouts for future tourneys, as well as other products IE- Triton headsets, razer mouses for top contestants, just an example on top of the extra cash payouts.
Some of you contested this distribution (50% to Game Pazzo), but this is Game Pazzo's 1st tournament, and the 1st prized tournament in Chicagoland that I know of. We have to give credit where it's due. If this tourney goes well, next one should have better prizes.

TIME:
+ Show Spoiler +
We start the tournament at 1 PM +/- a couple of minutes, right after I make the brackets. If you are not in the facility by this time, you won't participate in the tournament, even if you sent me email to register. It is strongly suggested to be there at 11 AM or your earliest convenience, so that you get familiar with the facilities, install your drivers, etc.
Exception - if you are on the way, but running late, we will wait for you a reasonable amount of time (15-20 minutes).
Call me or Game Pazzo ((630) 541-8719) if you're late.

WHAT TO BRING (in case you will use Game Pazzo's PCs):
1) Your own peripherals(mouse, keyboard, & mousepad - they have no mousepad). They have high-end headphones, but you can still bring yours.
2) Drivers (or a link to your drivers) to your mouse/keyboard, as some don't get recognized by Windows.
WHAT TO BRING (in case you will use your PC/laptop):
EVERYTHING + Network cable: PC, monitor, Power cords, mouse, keyboard, mousepad, power strip, headphones, network cable (preferrably at least 10/20 ft long).
Warning: Game Pazzo assumes no responsibility if your equipment is stolen. You are liable for your own equipment. Have a friend watch it if you go to the bathroom or any other reason.
BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT:
+ Show Spoiler +
1.) Once you paid the $15 fee, present me your receipt AND your picture ID.
2.) I add you to the player roster & sort everyone in order of the ladder ranking AT THAT VERY MOMENT, no matter if your ladder ranking changes before you play.
3.) You get accustomed to the environment, play 1-2 games if it's not too close to 1 PM.

PC USAGE
+ Show Spoiler +
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (but not required) TO BRING YOUR OWN PC/LAPTOP. I will bring my PC and have it available for others to play on it.
If there are more PCs than players, the lower bracket matches take priority (show example of challonge pic). If you are using one of Game Pazzo's 10 PCs, you WILL be asked to relinquish your seat for the next game to take place. The 10 PCs are close to some console and it gets fairly loud (ask Game Pazzo to lower their volume?) - another reason to BYOPC
If you BYOPC, it would be nice if you let another player use your PC if they need it.

SPECTATING
You can spectate, but don't comment LOUDLY on the game. You will be asked to move away from the players if you get too loud while commenting on the game.
AFTER YOUR GAME
+ Show Spoiler +
The winning player sends me
1)The result and what map it was played on. Example
IMMVP vs OGSMC 2-1
scrapstation: IMMVP
xelnaga : OGSMC
shakuras plateau: IMMVP
2) the replays at (my email). Save them in the format GameX-IMMVPvsOGSMC-Y (where X is the game # from Challonge and Y is the game # of your set - if a Bo3, 1 to 3. If a Bo5, 1 to 5 (if necessary).

IF YOU'RE ELIMINATED
+ Show Spoiler +
You can spectate, play anything else, go home, go at the bar, but you'll be asked to relinquish your Game Pazzo PC for pending games. This is why BYOPC is highly recommended! (Ask GamePazzo for pricing on the console games). There is no guarantee you will have a PC to play on after your games are over.
Only when computers are not being used by active players you can use them yourself, but be civil, don't clinch to one computer all day; let others use them if needed.

IF YOU WON
+ Show Spoiler +
You may be asked to relinquish your PC; wait for PCs to become available. Take a break, but don't go too far. If you leave the facility and I can't find you for 15 minutes, your next game will be lost.
Once I have a good amount of feedback from you, I'll post this in the teamliquid.net tournaments section.
Once I have a good amount of feedback from you, I'll post this in the teamliquid.net tournaments section.
Suggestions gotten from players:
1: current ladder, minus delta quadrant (agreed)
2: prizes should be 50% 25 15 10 (I disagree; too much payout for 1st place, but if others want it this way, I may change it)
3: Current ladder + shakuras, take out slag pits. (agreed)
4: MLG map pool. Do a loser-picks with a 1st map pick. (Considering it, but not sure yet)
(expecting 15-20 participants at this point)
Be easy on me. This is my first blog post.
Thanks
