- Beginning to add recommendations in the order in which they were posted.
- Separated games into different lists: main list, "games w/o VODs", "games w/o VODs or TLPD entries", "games that might be worth watching" (for games that a significant number of people have voted not-worth-watching).
- Demoted a number of games to the latter list.
- Italicized category entries for games that are not in the main list.
- Added template for the format of games in this thread.
2011-03-04: 9:57 KST:
- Added "Using this thread" section with info about some details.
- Added through game #40 (Savior off-racing in the MSL)
- Reinstated game #7 on the main list after many people voted it worth watching.
- Added some more categories.
- Finished updating the OP with all posts from the first page of the thread (through game #42 [July going random in a pro-league game]).
- Added "Contributing to this thread" section with details about how you can contribute.
- Added TLPD links to the entries that were missing those.
- Demoted game #15 (go.go vs. Pure on Blue Storm) to "Games that might be worth watching".
Probably won't be updating again for a little while; have a good weekend!
2011-03-08: 05:12 KST: Updates since the last:
- Incorporated all game-related comments from the thread through page 3 (added through game #53).
- At behest of Bwenjarin Raffrack, added note about how it might be better to let Youku VODs buffer before watching.
- Added references/links to Pimpest Play awards for games 37 and 38 (Boxer's nuke rush; Nada vs. H.O.T. Forever).
- Archived games with 20 or more poll votes to reduce clutter and make it easier to find games that many people haven't watched/voted on yet.
- Corrected mistakes in the listings of games #53 and #59 and in the description of #13.
- Added bold red appeal to please vote!
- Moved game #28 (Baby vs. Fantasy) to archived section.
- Demoted game #37 (Boxer's nuke rush) to "Games that might be worth watching". (People did not seem to like this one, probably because of the low quality of Boxer's opponent. Still, back in the day, this was one of the games that made Boxer famous. I guess it hasn't aged well.)
- Added through game #63 (Jaedong using two control groups of mutalisks).
- Added through game #70 (Zero vs. Roro in a hive-tech ZvZ)
- Added new categories "Facepalm" (for games that were recommended because of awful decision-making, etc.) and "Hive tech in ZvZ".
- Began listing most recent updates outside spoiler.
- Archived game #26 (Savior vs. TT: elimination race that comes down to a matter of seconds.)
- Demoted game #27 (Garimto vs. St. Eagle: proxy robo) to "Games that might be worth watching".

- Expanded the description of games #33-35 (Boxer vs. Yellow in the OSL semi-finals).
- Archived game #63 (Jaedong going mass mutas vs. Iris). (Protip: if you are new to this thread and want to start watching games, the archives are a good place to start: the games there have all been seen by many people and voted worth watching by a substantial majority.)
- Added insufficiently identified game #11 (Oversky doing a proxy Hatch on Katrina).
- Added through game #78 (Hwasin cheesing Jaedong).
2011-04-05 00:37 KST: Updates since last:

Preambling
Every once in a while, someone makes a thread about the best games of Starcraft ever, or the best games of a given year, or something similar. Those threads are useful, but they have the drawback that not everyone shares the same taste in games. Some people like incredible comebacks, some people like incredible beatdowns; some people like macro games, some people like cheese; some people like watching as close to "technically perfect" Starcraft as possible, some people like watching risky moves. That's why I'm starting a new thread with a slightly narrower mission. I'm interested in the most unusual games of professional Starcraft that you remember.
There are many games I enjoy watching, when they first come out. I can enjoy every kind of game I mentioned above. Most often, I simply like it when "my player" wins. If I want to watch a game that was played long ago, however, my taste is more restrictive. As enjoyable as a well-played game of Starcraft can be to watch, game after game of them can be boring, when the results themselves are no longer relevant. After all, there is a certain sameness to most well-played Starcraft games. That's why, if I watch a classic game, I want there to be something about it that sets it aside, that makes it different from the vast majority of other games that have been played: an unusual rush, an rarely-used unit, an offbeat strategy, or what-have-you. To be sure, it's better if the unusual tactic is not a total failure.
About this thread
This thread is for recommendations/VODs of such unusual games. I'll kick it off by posting a few games to begin with, and I'll keep this OP updated with the ones I/any other poster here find/remember and add to it over time. If you have any suggestions for making the thread itself better, post those too.
- I intend to update this post with every game that is recommended in the thread. However, updating does take some time (tracking down VODs, neatening up the format, etc.) and I can't spend all day on TL, so for the foreseeable future, the OP will lag behind the thread. I'll try to transfer at least a couple games a day into the OP, so you can check back every once in a while if you want to see something new. You can always read through the thread if you want the most cutting-edge recommendations, of course.
- I'm adding recommendations in the order in which they were posted.
- I'll probably update the OP in other ways too.
- Don't stress about recommending games that someone might have already mentioned in the thread--if anything, it's kind of cool when two people independently think of the same game; that means it's probably worth watching. If you're going to put a lot of effort into your recommendation, it's probably worth making sure that someone hasn't already done that, but otherwise, don't worry about it.
Template for VODs in this thread
+ Show Spoiler +- You do not have to use this template to post a recommendation in this thread. I will update this OP with every recommendation posted in this thread, regardless of format. I made this template mostly for my own use, in transferring recommendations.
- The only essential information to include in your post is the names of the players and the map. If you don't include all of those, I'll still add the game to the OP, but it will probably go in the "insufficiently identified" section.
- The above said, if you'd like to use this template, by all means do: it makes my job easier.
- It's not all or nothing: you can use the template without filling out all of the fields--that still makes my job easier.
- Replace ALL-CAPS TEXT with correct information if known and "?" or a blank if unknown/not applicable.
- Re player's names: if the game is unusual because of one player's unorthodox play, name that player first; otherwise list the names in either order.
- Re "ROUND (NTH game)", include that info if it's an individual league (since it's nice to know how much was at stake); for proleague it's not necessary.
- For the date, I prefer the format 20**-**-** just because it's what I've been using and things look prettier when they are consistent, but this is not a huge deal.
- For "What makes this unusual", the goal should be one or two sentences that tell people what sets this game apart, without spoiling more than necessary.
- For the poll: please mention the names of the players and the map in the question of the poll. The reason for that is that is so that it's clear from the poll itself which game it refers to, to avoid possible confusion (e.g. if someone mistypes a poll number).

Categories
Note: italicized numbers refer to games in the "might be worth watching" list. Bold numbers refer to games in the Hall of Fame. Also note: except for the race match-up categories, category listings are most likelynot exhaustive (i.e. there are probably games that fit each category that haven't been listed, as nobody's systemically gone through these games assigning categories).

Note: Not so long ago, hive-tech ZvZs were so rare as to be amazing every time they happened, regardless of the game's intrinsic quality. That's started to change, though, with great in particular leading the way towards mainstreaming hive-tech ZvZ, I'm not sure that hive-tech on its own makes a game unusual enough to be worth watching nowadays, especially if a whole bunch of them are all dumped together into the "unusual games" thread.
Reaching hive-tech is still a good sign that a game is interesting, of course, and besides, I don't want to start making unilateral decisions about what counts as "unusual" or "worth watching", even if I had watched all of these myself, which I haven't. What I'll do is intersperse these games throughout the thread, so if you're watching in order, at least, you won't be hit with a rash of hives, As for whether they're worth watching, I'll leave that to the polls as usual, on an individual basis: you decide.

Using this thread
+ Show Spoiler +- Just grab any game that looks interesting and watch it!
- After watching one of the games here, please take a second to vote in the attached poll as to whether you thought it was worth watching.
- Don't worry about whether other people with different taste would like the game or if it was a "good game" but not as unusual as the thread led you to expect, or any other qualifications. Simply say whether, coming to the game from this thread, you found the game worth the watch or were disappointed.
- Vote on the game, not the video. IOW, don't vote "No" just because a video's quality is bad or in a language that you don't prefer. The reason you shouldn't do that is that a better video of the same game might become available. Instead, in a case like that, the most helpful thing to do is to post in the thread about it, ideally with a better video if you can find one.
- There ought to be enough games in the main list of the OP to keep you occupied for a while, but if you want to see more, there's also the list of "games that might be worth watching, at the bottom of the post. There's nothing wrong with these games--a lot of people thought they were worth the watch--there just wasn't enough consensus to put them in the main list. If you think that one of these is worth watching, make sure to vote it up--if the consensus on the poll shifts, it will be restored to the main list.
- If all that still isn't enough for you, there are many more games in the thread that haven't been transferred to the OP yet.
- If you're looking for a specific sort of game, check out the category lists above. I'll add more categories as time goes on.
Formatting
As far as the format of games in the OP goes, most of it is fairly self-explanatory, but here are a couple of points you may not have noticed:
- The numbers of the games have nothing to do with ranking, chronological order, or anything else. They're there for easy reference and to help you keep track of what games you have already watched, if you are going through them systematically. For that reason, games will never be renumbered.
- The link over the dates of most of these games goes to their TLPD pages.
- The link over the venue (e.g. "Proleague") of some games (for the most part, games from 2009 and onward) goes directly to the LR thread of those games.
- For the most part, the first player listed is the one who did something unorthodox. Of course, in some of these games, both players played unorthodoxly, or something else about the game was unusual. (It's also possible that in a couple of cases I accidentally listed the wrong player first.)
- For the most part the VODs linked are from YouTube, but in a few cases there was no video available on youtube and the VOD is from Youku. VODs from Youku sometimes take a long time to load for some people, so it may be worth it to let them buffer for a while before starting to watch the game.
- If you want to know who recommended a game, look at the "Comments from the thread" section--the first person listed there is always the first commenter (unless I added the game on my own, but there are are only a few of those).
- The "Comments from the thread" section is also a good way to get an overview of how many people found the game worth commenting on (often these people recommended the same game independently, which is always a good sign). Occasionally there will be dissenting opinions, too.
Avoiding spoilers
This is a little tricky in a thread like this. After all, the focus of this thread is on cool and unusual play, rather than on nail-biting games where you don't know who wins until the finish. Also, many times the outcome of these games are famous. I don't personally think that "spoilers" actually spoil the appeal of most of these games that much, but if you want to try and avoid them where you can, here's what to do:
- Your best bet, if you want to minimize spoilers as much as possible, is to go straight to the VOD without opening the spoilers about "What makes this game unusual?" or "Comments from the thread". You'll still probably have a sense about who wins it, since for the most part people like watching strange play when it actually works out, but that's not a given--in a few of the games here, the unorthodox player ends up losing. Also, of course, there are games in which there is no single "unorthodox" player.
- If you're not sure whether you want to watch a game, and you're willing to take a chance on spoilers, open the "What makes this game unusual" tag. The goal of the description there is to tell you what makes this game unusual and worth watching, without spoiling more than necessary. In practice, there's a lot of variance: some descriptions spoil almost nothing at all; others tell you exactly who won and how.
- Only read the "Comments from the thread" if you don't care about being spoiled at all.
Contributing to this thread
+ Show Spoiler +If you'd like to contribute, there are a number of ways to do that.
- Vote: This is the easiest thing to do (assuming you're watching the VOD anyway), but it is tremendously appreciated. People's tastes differ, and without people casting their votes, this could sprawl into a hard-to-sort-through collection of everyone's favorite games. The votes help discriminate between the don't-miss games and the games that are just good.
In terms of how to vote, it's simple: you've watched a game in this thread, expecting something unusual, or amazing or whatever you expect from a game in this thread. Were you satisfied? Vote "Yes" in the poll. Were you disappointed? Vote "No" in the poll.
Vote on the game, not the video. - Suggest unusual games that you remember: The most important things to remember about them are the players and the map (otherwise, the game will probably go into the "insufficiently identified" section. Whatever you remember, though, post it in the thread--maybe someone else can remember more details. You don't need to worry about duplicating someone else's post (unless you are putting a lot of effort into formatting, in which case for your own sake it's probably worth it to make sure the work hasn't been done before). When I put a game into the OP, I'll give credit to everyone who posted about it in the thread.
I'd suggest not suggesting games that just happened--let's say, wait at least a month. The reason for that is that a lot of times a game seems really neat when it's just happened, but it's not so amazing that you'd want to watch it long afterwards. - Format posts: your own or someone else's. There's a template in the OP: the closer the format of a post is to that template, the less work I have to do when I transfer it. You don't actually have to do this, but it makes my life easier.
- Track down VODs/Identify games from the lists of games missing VODs or insufficiently identified: This is really helpful.
- Categorize games: The category section of this thread is rather undeveloped: there aren't enough categories, and most of them aren't fleshed out. If you've watched a game, and it occurs to you that it would fit well in X category (whether said category exists yet or not), that's a very helpful thing to post. If the categories become more thorough, they may eventually become a very useful tool for finding a game you are in the mood to watch.
- Post any comment at all: whether you're seconding a recommendation, commenting on the game, disagreeing with something, or anything else. My long-term goal is to incorporate every piece of input into the OP, so don't think that your post is wasted.
Games
With the list of recommended games so large already (and growing larger), it was growing unwieldy, so I've broken it further into sections.+ Show Spoiler [About the different sections] +
- The Hall of Fame contains games that received at least 20 votes and were liked by a significant majority of voters.
- The main (unspoilered) list consists of games that fewer people have seen (or at least voted on) thus far.
- "Games without VODs"/"Games without VODs or TLPD entries" are as before, and fairly self-explanatory. Note that VODs may be available for these games, on Youku or elsewhere: it's simply that no VOD for them has been posted.
- Games insufficiently identified are recommendations/requests that people posted in the thread without enough information to immediately identify a specific game. Sometimes these are specific games that someone remembered vaguely without remembering all the basic identifying details (players, map). Sometimes, they are general enough to describe two or more games.
- "Games that might be worth watching are games that were recommended, and often got many "Yes" votes, but also got a significant number of "No" votes. (If the proportion of "Yes" votes gets bigger, these games are moved back off this list.)
NOTE: As the main list of games continues to grow, I've decided to cap its size at 50, that it not be too overwhelming. All contributions to the thread are still gratefully appreciated; new games will be added to the OP as space is freed up by older games being moved to the Hall of Fame or to "Games that might be worth watching." (In other words, if you'd like to see more games added to the OP, you can facilitate that simply by voting for one of the games that's already there. [It doesn't matter whether your vote is "yes" or "no": when a game gets enough votes I archive it.] Please don't vote for a game twice, though. .)

Years past his prime, in a rare proleague appearance, Boxer deploys a bizarre strategy (might be summarized as "fail a bunker rush-->build supply depots all over the map") that has the commentators as well as his opponent completely baffled. Halfway through the game, however, it becomes clear that Boxer has seen deeper than everyone, and the seeming randomness of his opening was actually part of a calculated plan, tailored to the map. The VOD above includes a subtitled translation of the Korean commentary, courtesy of the wonderful FConnectionUK and co. and well worth reading, imho.

For many, many years, BoxeR vs. YellOw was the most storied rivalry in the history of Starcraft (and therefore of all e-sports). Widely regarded in their heyday as the best two players in Starcraft, the two met each other in countless high-stakes matches. Each took games off the other, but Boxer was seen as having the edge when it came to winning the games that mattered.
The last major tournament that saw the two face off against each other in a high-stakes match was the Ever OSL in 2004. Owing to both the iconic status of each of these players, and their long and storied history against each other, their semi-final meeting was anticipated and hyped to almost delirious levels. The match was expected to be nothing short of "epic". However, Boxer, who throughout his career has delighted in defying expectations, had other plans. The ensuing match was one of the most brutal and short-lived in OSL semi-final history; certainly the most polarizing and controversial.
In RPS circles, they call this sort of tactic the avalanche.

Nearly everyone could be considered a "no-name", and the ones who weren't--like Boxer--made their names with games like this.) The game itself isn't all that weird. The context and outcome is however.
This was at the time when Bisu was considered probably the best player in the world (just two months after beating Savior in the MSL and only two months before taking his second gold against Stork). He was going up against ChRh, who had stopped playing in 2004, but joined ACE when it was formed while doing his time in the army, and had subsequently gone without winning a game for over 3 years.
Needless to say, not many expected the outcome.

Action makes no more drones and instead starts hiding lings at his 3rd while dancing his surviving lings at Fantasy's wall. He actively denies scouting with his revealed lings causing Fantasy not to realize how all-in he truly is and move out with a control group of marines! Fantasy doesn't realize his mistake until it's too late and gets flanked by the hidden lings and loses his whole force. Action then goes to town on the Barracks forcing them to lift or die and runs into Fanta's nat, who is forced to make an SCV + 1medic/2firebat wall while he lands his Barracks in his main; getting off a clutch repair to prevent them from burning down. Action tries to poke through the wall by sending in lings to kill the SCVs out of the medics heal range one by one but with only 3 drones left he is forced to gg once he sees the lights on Fanta's Barracks start flashing again.
Pay special attention to Oov's outbursts of frustration with Fantasy and Actions "aww fuck it" body language.

I'm recommending these games as a pair. The similarities are striking. Each is a high-stakes MSL game. Each is a ZvZ involving Calm. In each, Calm opens 12-hatch. In each, Calm's opponent selects the same seemingly hard counter. In one game, this opponent is Kwanro; in one, it is Jaedong. And, precisely there, the similarities end.

17 & 100: Another set of games that are best watched as a pair. (The first one had initially been recommended on its own, accounting for the discrepancy in numbering.)
+ Show Spoiler [What makes these games unusual?] +
This thread features many unusual games, some of which are more memorable than others, but one of the games that has managed to endure in people's memories throughout the years is "that Kal against Forgg game on Colosseum". The particular intersection of strategies in that game, and the way that they played out created the Starcraft equivalent of a blue moon: not merely an entertaining rarity, like a hive-tech ZvZ or proxy buildings in the opponent's natural, but a strategy that--while apparently valid--appears to have been a once-in-a-lifetime event. It is perhaps best comparable to game #6 of this thread: a particular strategy, tailored towards a particular situation, that is the subject of occasional Theorycraft but seems to have no reality in the world of professional Starcraft. Like the Loch Ness monster, it is a mythic creature, whose unexpected, unforgettable sighting is glimpsed with disbelief--but remembered forever. If you were there, you know it, and even now, years later, after one too many beers at the bar, those old-timers who were there at the time can be heard to mumble into their cups, "Remember that game, Kal vs. Forgg, on Colosseum? He used--" and if the fellow that they're talking to happens to be an old-timer himself, he'll cut them off with an impatient twitch of the hand. "Remember? How could I forget?" It's that sort of game.
Which is why most people can be forgiven for forgetting that there were actually two of them.
It's easier than it sounds to forget things like that. Memories blur together, and so, even more so, does myth. Two games, of about the same length, with the same strategies, on the same map, between the same players, in the same round of the same Starleague, on the same day: it's easy for the mind to merge them. The Game transcends its context, so much so that people can forget that context: that it was a pivotal game, even a decisive one, that it took place in the Quarterfinal round of a Starleague much remembered for the shocking upsets that would follow, that the winner of this match would go on to stun the mighty Jaedong himself in a final whose outcome virtually no one saw coming--even that it was not one game, but two.
But this is the way of things. The Wheels of Starleagues turn, and champions come and pass, leaving only memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and myth preserves only the heart of things. Was there one game or two: does it even matter? Yet two games they were--and what two games! In the bare span of a couple hours on one distant June afternoon, they posed point and tantalizing counterpoint to one of the last imponderables in the philosophy of Brood War.
Scout for yourself.
Which is why most people can be forgiven for forgetting that there were actually two of them.

Performing: powerful Pure, presiding over the proud Protoss, plays puissant Protoss Premier Pusan in the Proleague Playoffs. Pusan proactively posts his preliminary probe to put up a proxy. Provoked, Pure parries proxy with proxy, and play proceeds with predictable precision. Positively, this paragraph grows protracted, so without prolonging my peroration, let me simply add that it is my pleasure to present: the paradigmatic PvP.

I'd just like to say thanks to every one of you contributing to this thread: this has grown so much faster than I thought it would! So many great games out there... Especial thanks to those of you taking the time to format your posts nicely so that I can basically paste them straight into the OP.
I hope this doesn't get to be a problem, although in a worst-case scenario, I'd settle for watching an "amazing" game . I will say that there is some overlap, IMO: for instance the Jaedong vs. Iris game that grobyc mentioned a couple posts before prototype's was certainly amazing, but I'd say that 2-control-group mutalisk micro qualifies it for "unusual" too. In other words, anything so amazing that you can't remember the last time you've seen it (or maybe I should say that you do remember every time you've seen it) qualifies as unusual for my purposes. Which games were you thinking of with your post, prototype?
You do raise an important point, though. I deliberately tried to make the scope of this thread a bit narrower than other "best game" threads so that variations of taste would be less of an issue, and I think that the "What makes this game unusual" field goes a long way towards keeping it focused, but with so many people suggesting so many games, we could still run into problems like you mention. For example, a number of people have recommended Chrh vs. Bisu, but that's exactly the sort of game I personally don't consider unusual enough to watch again--super cool and exciting at the time because of the context (it was a massive upset) but not worth watching as a game, apart from that context.
However, I don't want to make myself the arbiter of what's "unusual" and what's not, so here's what I'll say: if there's a game in the OP that you think is a disappointing watch for someone who comes to the thread hoping to find an "unusual" game, vote "No" on the poll that asks if it's worth watching. If a game gets a significant amount/percentage of "No" votes, I'll move it to a separate section of the OP, to cull the main list.
I do hope to keep improving the OP (for instance there are getting to be so many games, that I think it's worth categorizing them: e.g. "base trades", "miniatures", "dongalisks", etc.) but it will take time. Bear with me! My eventual goal is to incorporate all useful posts from this thread into the OP, so even if it takes time, don't think your posts are wasted! (In the meanwhile there's the thread itself for people to read, so they're not wasted anyway, of course, but the OP naturally gets the most exposure, and everyone's input will make it in there if I can help it.)
Thanks, Manifesto!
The thread is getting big enough that it takes some effort to read through it completely, which is why I'm continuing to update the OP. In my opinion, it's all right if people don't read the thread before posting--in fact, I actually like that, because if multiple people recommend the same game, that's often a good reason to watch it. As I said above, I would like to eventually include all of your input, including second and third opinions, so please don't stop leaving it!
Thanks in particular for this, garbanzo. If any of you guys haven't realized, it takes me much less time to transfer a game to the OP if it's already formatted nicely, so I do it much faster. (It takes me around 15 minutes to go from the names of two players and a map to the formatted version, believe it or not [maybe I'm just slow].) Garbanzo even added the link to the TLPD page, which I'd only started doing towards the end, thanks for noticing that, garbanzo!
Lots of sources are worth checking out; Pimpest Plays is absolutely one of the best. Lots of earlier "best game" threads are worth looking at as well (only problem being that they tend not to have much description of the game, so one usually has to actually watch [or have watched] them to see if they qualify as unusual). Heck, even I have games I remember that I plan to post here (e.g. Kwanro vs. Calm and Jaedong vs. Calm, a pair of 5-pool vs. Calm-12-hatch MSL games with very different outcomes). It just takes time...
As for the question about English casters, well it's true that TLers tend to prefer the Korean versions.
People usually follow the same path, I believe: if they're relatively new to high-level BW (whether as a player or a spectator), then they like English casters because they help explain what's going on at a basic level. Meanwhile (even for skilled BW players) if they're new to watching VODs of games and don't speak Korean/Chinese/whatever, then constant screaming in a foreign language is annoying and distracting. As they get used to watching VODs, this reverses: on the one hand, once somebody knows something about the game, the usually-shallow and frequently-mistaken commentary of most English casters starts to annoy them, whereas on the other hand, they learn to tune out the foreign commentary and even to hear it as a soothing, familiar part of the background. I guess like anything else, it's what you're used to. (Not a few people even like Korean commentary but hate when it's overdubbed with Chinese--even though they don't speak either language!)
For this thread, since most TLers do prefer Korean (also those VODs are often better-quality), I prefer linking Korean VODs, but that's just a plus--if you can't find a Korean VOD to link to, link to an English one, absolutely! Actually, after getting this and similar feedback, I think I'm going to put links to both Korean and English versions, where possible, on my long-term to-do list for the OP.
One more point--there are some quality English casters out there, whom I think many people do enjoy listening to. Basically, to be a good commentator, you need to be articulate, it helps to be funny, and it's essential to have a good knowledge of the game--the deeper the better. It's that last quality that many commentators lack, but the ones who have it are great to listen to. Day[9] is the name that will come to nearly everybody's mind, of course--and he is wonderful (although I don't find his silliness as hysterical as lots of other people listen to), and I like Artosis even better (his one flaw being that he tends to overhype players that he knows personally). Lots of people like Tasteless; I see him as a fantastic play-by-play guy, but only a middling commentator (teaming him with Artosis was a great move on the part of GOMTV).
Of the YouTube commentators, most of them are not worth mentioning (although if only Diggity had a deeper knowledge of the game!--he has the best casting voice I've ever heard in my life, not excluding professional TV/radio broadcasters) (and NukeTheStars is wasted as a caster, he has real [as in amazing] talent in other areas, like video editing, and music) but you happen to have mentioned the one who imo is the best: CholeraSC is the only English BW caster on YouTube whom I enjoy listening to. His knowledge of the game is not as deep as that of, say, Day[9] or Artosis (both of whom played competitive BW on the highest of foreigner levels), so the really hard-core players at TL tend to eschew him too, but it's still pretty good, and imo plenty good enough for the average guy (like me) who knows more about the game from spectating than from playing it. Definitely, if you're linking an English VOD from YouTube, a Cholera VOD is better by far than the alternatives.
Wow, this post alone took me like an hour to write... I guess you can see why the OP doesn't instantly reflect everyone's feedback, although I read it all and value absolutely all of it. For now, maybe I'll just paste some of this post into the OP--some of it is relevant in general.
All right, I've decided to just keep it simple and go through the thread page by page. Your recommendation will be processed in the order that it was received and all that. In the meantime, people can find it here in the thread, along with a lot of other great games that have not made it to the OP yet.
