Pricedevelopment makes CPI impossible to calculate

This is more a joke than a serious disccusion

Man!

I was crawling the internet for movies to go download. And i came far, here, there and close, and somehow i ended up on Spannerfilms.

Spannerfilms has some interestingly movies for download so i went to check the prices. But before i head on into the pricedevelopment, let me talk a little about CPI.

Its not that i am caring about the CPI (consumer price index) which basically is meassuring the inflation. But imagine sitting in a highranked political office trying to calculate the CPI for the present year and then you are out there observing the prices and you come around this:

And if that method of pricing stuff went more popular then i think CPI would have to be shut down! ROFL that would be epic!

The CPI is based upon a certain set basket of goods. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think activist films are one of them.

Ahahah that's such an awesome way to shop

But bonicace is right, Inflation is calculated off a certain basket of goods, that are deemed 'appropriate', so they add things like mobile phones and electronic tablets and take off things like bricks and candles, then see yearly price changes.

It's easy to just consider each one of those prices as a price of a separate good. It's not that hard to imagine that ~_~

This is just price discrimination, they do it all the time with senior and student discounts and things like that.

You would just use some method of averaging the different price brackets for each good or have separate CPI data for each demographic.

This pricing is interesting, but trying to make some argument about the consumer price index from it seems pretty useless.
