I didn't look closely 'cause I was getting bracelets for them and I just casually said "Hey man, how are y'all today? Did you hurt your foot or something?" And I looked down and he just had a stub there... Holy crap did I ever switch the subject so fast and just tell them to have a nice day!
Looking before we speak doesn't happen all the time, haha.
LOL oh man that must have been awkward.
At my work someone consistently called a woman "sir" and she got really pissed. (In my coworker's defense, she was wearing unisex/male clothing, had a buzz-cut, and a relatively deep voice). She actually refused to speak to him and came over to me, showed me her driver's license, pointing to the "Gender: F" and screamed WHAT DOES THAT SAY!?

Well that's what I meant... that the McDonald's stuff is cheap and not of high quality. I probably wouldn't of felt as bad if all the staff members hadn't looked at me the way they did. I might not have even made the correlation, but they certainly did.
The kid with the missing foot is so bad. I feel for you man. That's a lot worse than my story :X
If going to a free art exhibit with friends and drinking coffee from the most popular coffee chain in NA makes me a tool, then I guess I'm a tool.
The worst is always the look you get. That look that says "you've offended me", when you really didn't mean it. I remember once in a High School gym class someone was kicking volleyballs around while me and friends were trying to have a legitimate game. A stray kicked ball hits me in the leg, and as I'm picking it up I yell "Hey shitface stop kicking the ball around", only for my eyes to meet with the one Pakistani kid in the entire school who came to retrieve the ball. That look is so awful. I didn't mean it like that! I just- you hit me- I'm sor-! Yeah that sucks.

I busted out laughing so hard, mainly because of how crazy he was acting, but turns out no one in the whole theater laughed, and black people were sitting behind me :\

Believe it or not most young people in cities use slang. I've never seen or heard of anybody being offended by it before now. I have people call the area I live in ghetto before and never taken it as an insult. I just think, yea, this place is pretty ghetto, so what?

People that live in a ghetto are sensitive to you using the place they live in as an adjective describing something unfavorable, yes. I don't see why it's wrong for them to be sensitive to that. It's like saying someone who is good with their money is being a Jew. It's kinda offensive.

that actually kind of is what the word ghetto means, or at least one definition.
also while your point is still good, the definitions of words change, language evolves.

Ghetto on Wikipedia Ghetto on Dictionary.com Ghetto on Urban Dictionary
"word which rich white girls use to describe almost everything thats not clad with lilly polos and pearls."
No, I really do not see the offense in this word. LOL. So, I agree that this does not make you look like an asshole. Just a rich white girl that doesn't have any lilly polos and pearls in their life.

While you might have offended some people, you didn't do it on purpose
Intent is more important than the crime because anyone can make a mistake
So in my book, no, you're not an asshole

A few posts above you,
"People that live in a ghetto are sensitive to you using the place they live in as an adjective describing something unfavorable, yes."
It's wrong because of that, it's just not respectful.
I think mac lethal sums it up well,
"Ghetto aint a god damn adjective, think about the single inner city mothers that are having kids, and raising them in impoverished conditions, knowing that surbanites use it as a method of description, thats some nerve, ghetto means low quality, or something that does not meet the standard of the suburbs"

I'd find it pretty sad if "ghetto" has actually become common slang in the US despite the historical and social connotation of the term.

McDonalds coffee is many times better than starbucks, anyway. Enjoy your cheaper, superior product.

Grandma said watch out for the pennies and the dollars will watch out for you.. or something like that. Point is coins are money too.
Also I have pretty much no money. I'm in college, live with my parents and work only a couple hours a week -_-

i love the whole starbucks debate. tbh its like $1.35 extra for a much better product, i dont understand everyones aggression towards starbucks.
and i personally think the coffee at Mc Donald's is actually quite good, hence them doing thoes giveaways trying to convince people of this. i only know this because of those free giveaways.
as for you feeling like an asshole? fuck em, they work at Mc Donald's, if they had such high standards they shouldn't be working there.
