I also really dislike those kinds of 'harem' dramas where it's one girl, or one guy whom everyone falls for - even if it completely contradicts any logical character development or their personality in the show. That's just so puke-inducingly predictable. I also hate western romantic/rom-com movies/dramas though. It's just such a boring genre to me, but some of the Kdramas I've tried have really encompassed everything that makes me want to switch off the television immediately. Give me a good horror/thriller/mystery movie/drama any day. Thankfully, they're easy to avoid. (It was fun to be an extra in Secret Garden and Marry me Mary though.)

Assume you don't understand how to get a girl to like you, because a girl herself doesn't know what's "right" for a relationship. (true, most women are confused) Then she watches a k-drama and it's like *bam* no digestion whatsoever she just accepts the drama as truth Now you know what you have to do. All you have to do is watch half the drama (the part prior to the inevitable terminal illness) and you have like maphack on her brain. You can see exactly how she will react to every given situation. Dramas create a common language for men and women to understand and date each other. They fulfill the same purpose as stone age fertility rituals. And before you complain that these rituals set up stupid expectations of you, consider that they encourage you to be tender, kind, and considerate of the girl. Isn't that so much better than other reproductive memes, like, for example, the whole ideal of chivalric male honor, which once resulted in over two thousand dueling casualties in the United States South each year? I'd sure as hell take buying flowers to keep a girl over having to pistol whip or shoot some other dude over a perceived insult in order to keep my male honor intact

Even so, she still puts up with me. I dress really dorky, play starcraft or MMOs most of the time, watch anime and manga, am not remotely romantic or spontaneous, have no money, own a shitty car, and never do anything new with her. >_< lucky me lol

Two tall, rich, well educated, hot men fighting over me and coming up with elaborate romantic trips to try to win me over? Yeah that'd be nice. Likely to ever happen? Nope. That being said, I've never watched any of these Kdramas, so maybe I'm not really sure what they're like.
