If girls expect guys to all act like whatever perfect male protagonist they see in their dramas and be tall and rich and handsome, then I can expect all girls to be as pretty as Yoona. The rest of society already sets up those expectations. Even the housewives in cleaning product commercials are pretty, well kept, makeup, etc.

I also love the fact that they get attached to characters with as much personality as cardboard.

Heck, Korea has it all, man. Kpop. Starcraft/e-sports. Kdramas. FUCKING KOREAN BBQ. It seems that everything that comes from that country ends up being popular and generally high quality (though Kpop and Kdramas are debatable).

I can't stand Kdramas either but for some reason I don't mind some Japanese drama anime. Just feels weird when real people are acting so extremely fictional and are expected to be taken seriously.

A couple of years back, everyone wanted to eat sushi, watch anime and visit Japan. Now everyone wants to listen to Kpop watch Kdramas, eat korean food and wear hanboks. Maybe in 10 years everybody will be obsessed with another country. But seriously though, I don't see any problem to that. I can't enter a relationship if it doesn't involve a multi race war, my love dying and reborn as queen of savage blood hungry beasts and me having sex in a ridiculously large space marine suit.

Am I the only guy who thinks it's kinda cute? I mean, she gets excited about something she loves. Sure - if she is like that for every episode - woah! - but once for the final ones I can understand. I mean - I get hyped up about SC2, Sci-fi & fantasy series/movies. As someone already mentioned - we guys have our "fantasy worlds" too Though most of them are more unrealistic than a kdrama. I dont know any female that watches kdrama, but some who watched the normal daily soaps on german television. Sure they talked about it (a lot) but were still "normal". In the end they got older and just stopped watching.

I mean, I read romance novels that are either fantastic or kinda like "lolcheeseyyylol" right? Or, just any books in general. They can have an impact on the way you look out onto life, love, experiences~ There are books where the characters have such a love, that you wish you could have that in your life too. It's almost painful because it seems so unrealistic, yet so beautiful. You wish you could experience their heartache and their tragedies, and know that feeling of being loved forever. You wish someone would save you from the horrors of real life and place you in that forever-in-love state. I can't say I can relate to the girls who watch those korean dramas because I have never watched them before, but there are PLENTY of other books and movies that girls want to relate to in the same way. Like I said, from a girl who feels everything and overthinks everything, I can see where your friends are coming from. xD I mean, I could very easily cry myself to sleep if I wanted because I didn't have the kind of love that the characters in books I read do. Or I could be happy because I have fantastic friends, a wonderful boyfriend, and a life that isn't full of tragedy and heartache. =P I will admit though, I would love to have more adventure and travel in my life. But dealing with all the heartache and tragedy that some characters in books or movies experience.. @_@;;!!
