I admittedly play too much StarJeweled. Today I found out it is either A. Incredibly broken, or B. Needs some serious tweekage. If you're not a StarJeweled fan, you may not care. If you are, then you absolutely must watch... and if you're that guy who needs any advantage he can get in the game... well finally here is your chance.
I think this is broken as hell. It has to either be fixed or cost at least $500 minerals.

+ Show Spoiler +Basically... if you have 250 Energy, you can right-click on an enemies unit and "Mind Control" it indefinitely. That's cheaper than a storm, cheaper than a Tank, Immo, Colo, Ultra. It has no place in the game. Not to mention since you cannot control who your units fire at, you can mess up your stream of units by stealing aggro.

off topic: I have the same glasses, I applaud your good taste.

Thanks for breaking Starjeweled DJ Wheat.
|
wow
This completely changes the game haha this must be some kind of testing thing they had in for internal testing purposes and forgot to take out or something... there's no way haha

Now everyone on the ladder...er...SJ custom maps will be doing this. METAGAME SHIFT
Thanks for sharing!

Wow this needs to be taken out, seriously.
The Enemy spends 500 energy on a unit, you spend 250 to not only get a 500 energy unit but also taking it away from your opponent.
So basically you can spend 250 energy to get 1000 [+500 and -(-500)], just right-clicking to get a net 750 energy. nice blizzard.

Quick, everyone get on Starjeweled and use this trick before it's too late! Only less than 300 views on the vid so far, so we still have time as of the moment this comment was posted.
Hopefully, we'll have a ton of fun with this trick before it gets patched out haha.

Actually, I've noticed that this only lasts for a short period ~10s or so and then they return to the opposing side.
Anybody else find this?

Thats a shame. I was playing this ums for the first time today and really enjoyed it. I hope they fix it fast. Then again if everyone knows about it it could lead to some intresting game play. Like people spending there energy on lower cost units like zealots or roachs that cost less then 250 energy. Still why even have the higher tech units in the game if u can never use them.

I guess further testing would be required. Usually we would "Mind Control" units to interrupt their flow and this would cause their quick demise. In the few games we had played it seemed indefinite, but I would say that's absolute.

just did this and its really broken because its bugged. I got 1000 energy and used 4 MCs and noticed that my energy didnt go down but i wasnt able to MC anymore so i just got 30 points and then was able to MC 4 times again. I was even MCing marines thanks to this bug lol
EDIT: energy gets spent correctly if you summon a unit or use a spell

The problem is that right now the spell costs no mana

It seems like if you use it in succession it can freeze the rest of your spells, even if you have more than enough energy. Once you make a combo on the board, however, you are free to use any spells you wish.
This is an interesting bug.

It's funny to me that blizzard can't even get their own custom games working right before they release them. At least these are just the "beta" maps!

It should be called "possession" , after the banshee technique from Warcraft 3.
