Probably not the best name you could have picked...

You're right, my bad, since the words "gas chamber" don't bring up highly negative imagery in Europe...

Dude, this map as a whole is crazy! . It's sick map bro, don't really like it from a competitive point of view, but it sure is innovating! :D

me like green a lot !!! As for the name, well... although I think it's rough in itself it's real catchy ain't it, ... I feel it's not unreasonable to overlook the connotation it brings with it, consider it a nod to the way he felt about his map. Sorry to pummel about the debris, are those 2000hp regular destructibles? How many layers?
I love the 3 option gas (particularly for z who usually don't build enough hatcheries... it furthers the usual placement of ccs hatchs or nexi... coupling it with the gas only concept...
On the flip side, I'm really getting sick of the symmetry of most maps.
Great work!

How about a name change to Vespene Valley or something like that? That is of course if so many people are getting offended by the original name
|
call is toxic waste or something. While the name is slightly offensive the more horrifying thing is that you were ignorant enough to pick it.
|
Map looks quite nice at first glance. Why would you name it that? You must have known it would offend people...

I really like the idea of the map. From a competitive standpoint though, I don't like destructible back doors and sneaky entrances into the base. I don't feel like the game should be based around "Shit I hope he doesn't see these 3 DT's knocking down these rocks before I waltz down this hallway into his mineral line."
|
What's the problem with the name again? Since when does a physical object have problems with what it was designed to do? Now I'm not from Europe, but I don't see many europeans having a problem with this. Hell, the creator is from Europe and it seems the only people having problems with the name are from NA.
But other than that, I'm liking the map. Looks extremely fun. I don't see the gas expansions being taken very often due to the position of it, so I doubt mutas are a huge problem with the quad gas.

The map looks nice, and seems to be fun to play.
Now, maybe you could rename it, because it will sure be reported and I don't see any serious tournament in Europe playing this map until you rename it : /
I mean, not that I'm THAT offended personnaly, but just sayin', some people might find it offensive, and many people will not want to have their image linked to this.
For the above poster, if I made a map and called it 9/11, you might at some point find it sightly inappropriate, although it's "just" a date.

Look for awesome air battles, as the rush distance is incredible short. Also, I love the quad gas. This bring nostalgia from the maps with a double gas in SC1. Namely Longinus, Outsider, and El Nino (Great Barrier Reef) and others.
I agree with the name Vespene Valley, as mentioned above. It's a great map, and hope you have success with it.

I really like the aesthetics on the map, the fog is amazing and gets across the toxic feel.
I think that you may want to rethink your backdoor idea in your main. Right now, it looks too close to the center of the map and more importantly too close to your opponents backdoor. Maybe reposition them so that they are backdoors to the high yield expansion? I think that would be a better place than their current location.
I like where the XWT placement is, and it balances out all of the drop areas that you have in the mains by revealing the quickest paths to them, so that drops are still preventable. I think that LoSBs could be added in a half circle around them for aesthetics and minor gameplay reasons.
Rename the map. Sorry, but it not only is it rather unoriginal it's also offense (not to me, but other people have commented).
Suggestions: -Virulence -Exhumer -Malice -Malevolence -Pestilence -Contagion -Erasure
Something other than gas chamber would be better.

What's so bad about the name? The map has lots of geysers and is pretty cramped, it fits pretty well imo.

God, people on the internet are so touchy.
I mean, I'm Jewish. I'm not offended by this. It makes sense for the map aesthetics. Sure he could have picked a less controversial name, but no one on here is personally offended, are they? So far, all I've read is "people mightbe offended". Well shit, people are offended by all sorts of things. My next map is just going to be a drawing of that muhammed cartoon.
