I) Some weapons (like the Abakan) don't have automatic fire, but only small burst that have to be triggered again and again. While this is awesome in ranged fights, it sucks in close combat. Is there a way to switch firing modes? II) I've read about the SPECACT DLC with modified character and weapon skins, but didn't find a decent before/after screenshot or any comparison between old and new models while googling. Is is worth it? The same friend that introduced me to BF says that it's much harder to be seen when hiding in terrain, but I'm not so sure and 5€ for some skins is a bit much. III) Onslaught mode may or may not come for PC, it seems the designers aren't sure yet. But what exactly is Onslaught? Seems to be 4 player vs. AI, but how does it work?

The AN-94 is actually considered a noob gun among members of various BC2 forums really. 2. There is camouflage with the model skins, but the problem is that they stay the same on every map. I don't have it, but I've seen players having a desert model and when the map switches to a more jungle environment, they are still seen wearing the desert outfit. If you think that it costs too much then don't bother in the first place imo. 3. It's practically horde mode.

Oh, and one more question. When viewing the scoreboards, some people have an additional number behind their ranks, e.g. [1] [50] [2], with [1] being the rank within the team, [50] being their military rank and [2] being ... what exactly?

on ea you can register all your codes of previous bf titles (1942, vietnam, bf2, heroes, bc1, 2142 and the respective demos and addons). you also get some aditional weapons for veteranstatus 1 and 2... i, for example, have 2 because i was too lazy to register more hooray for steam's early acces of vietnam

I played BF: Heroes on another account, but just registered for it on my current account and created a soldier. Hopefully it'll count so I can at least get Vet rank 1. Regarding the Vietnam expansion: I plan to buy it via the EA store, since my version isn't on Steam and Amazon support for games rated 18 in Germany is ridiculous. My BF:BC2 is an english UK import; can I select the language for the addon in the EA store (never bought anything there before)?

I just bought/preordered the Vietnam expansion via the EA Store; everything went fine, Paypal payment worked etc. But now all I have is a billing confirmation. Apparently I already downloaded the Vietnam data with the latest BC2 patch - I already tried the EA support chat, but the guy I chatted with apparently had some language issues and I'm sure he didn't really understand what I wanted to ask :/. Nvm - just found the answer while randomly browsing the BC2 forums. Any stores that "sell BC2 Vietnam", sell a 16-digit code. This code can be entered into the BC2 game client - any version of the game client. Entering this code unlocks Vietnam for that EA account. No additional download is necessary.

Pretty much since the gun is REALLY easy to use imo. I don't use the gun a lot, but only on certain maps. People just get pissed/annoyed when someone is on a killing streak or just camping with it.

Yeah, I really like the AUG since the rate of fire and power is just right on a lot of maps. I personally do not think the M16 is OP compared to the AN-94. Speaking of balance, I find the early gun, XM8 one of the best assault rifles in the game.

It also has the same firing rate. The M416 also has less recoil than the AUG, and reloads faster. The only thing the AUG has going for it, is slightly less unzoomed spread. http://denkirson.xanga.com/722757523/bad-company-2/ I still use it though, because it looks and sounds amazing.

The server was really laggy, dunno if it's the game or the server's fault. There's like a filter to make it look vietnam era-ish I guess, I have to get used to it cause it just hurt my eyes for the few minutes I played. Punkbuster kicked me because it couldn't update. I really haven't played enough to make any judgements. So far it seems cool though
