Visits per IP might be tracked by whatever analytics software TL uses, but I'd be surprised. SonuvBob or R1CH would know about that.

Why do you permit ultra-low postcount users to apply for a name change? I mean, it's one thing for Joe Random Poster to go through 200 posts and decide that he doesn't like his name as much as he thought he would. That's fine, and I'm all for that. I just think it's ridiculous that people with sub-10 posts want to get a name change. I've even seen people make their very first post asking for a name change. That's not a sign of not liking one's name, it's a sign of not caring enough to put any time into choosing a suitable ID. That behavior, in my opinion, merits no accommodation. If Mr. 3 Posts didn't put the effort into making a username he wanted, there's no reason for him to be allowed to apply for a change several days later, or even the same fucking day. I would think that, along with the 500 post cap on name changes, there should be a minimum of posts required to apply, to avoid this kind of nonsense. Nothing too restrictive... something like 50 to 75 posts would do. In addition to remedying the problem stated above, it has two nice bonus features. The first bonus is freeing up names. If some guy registers, and applies for an ID change at 4 posts, and then gets banned at 20, that's two names that he's prevented other, future users from selecting (or changing their own IDs to). With the minimum requirement, posters who are banned early would not be able to, shall we say, "steal" another name from prospective TLers. The second is that if a minimum restriction is placed, people who would otherwise change names at 5 posts would be forced to deal with it until they reach the boundary. Along the way, some of these posters might grow fond of the name that they wanted to change in the first place, and would therefore choose not to pursue an ID change (lifting burdens on the staff in charge of the thread, and freeing up even more potential names for others to use). Heh, this turned into quite a rant here, but I wanted to bring this to Hot_Bid's attention, since I'm sure other users (and maybe even some mods and admins) would agree with me here. I'd like to know your stance on this.
