Also don't get it in weird font. Tattoos are always in that one weird font. EDIT: Actually maybe it'd be profound to not get a tattoo at all? If you think that this one piece of ink will be something you'll cherish "forever", then maybe not getting it at all will remind you that everything is temporary.

My advice is since you are so young, don't get something too big. See how you like it and if you really want more add on to it in the future. I know lots of people end up doing this. Also, being 23, a lot of my friends at 18 got tattoos that they are unsatisfied with now, and wish they got something different. For example cute catch phrases like that, meaningless symbols, random saying in Chinese, ect. If I were you I would have something you like in your mind that you really like for a year. Once you know its something you want to get, go find a competent tattoo artist with some credibility and references and get er done. ps. What does to short to live, to young to die mean to you? does it have any signifigant meanings? or does it just sound bad ass. pss. not that i'm a scholar on spelling and grammar, but would you rather it be toO short to live?

Generally, I don't like tattoos and the people who get them. It seems like people define themselves by their tattoos and it substitutes for personality (oh, I'll get some sick Asian character tattooed across my back, I think it means "bravery" or something). Add that to the fact that most of the people I've met who have tattoos got them in a split-second, possibly drunken moment of "This'll be totally rad" and I can safely assume that everyone I meet with a tattoo will not be someone worth talking to. If you feel that body art is merely one of many ways to express yourself, though, more power to you. Personally though, I suppose given the chance I would take the opportunity to get a small tattoo in a place not normally visible. It'd probably just be a short sentence or motto in Korean, and it'd be something personal and meaningful. Not pretend-meaningful, like "oh this'll look profound when I show it to the ladies," but something I'd like to remind myself, etc. No flashy fonts, none of that. It's not for display. EDIT: Ah, here it is. Well, close enough.

Awesome! Go for it! My forehead tattoo is a burning heart with wings, the writing "I luv Mom" in the middle of it is made in a barbed wire font. In the background is a mermaid holding an anchor nailed to a christian cross. Around it is a ring of chinese letters spelling something cool (i think). To top it off, my eyebrows are shaved off and i have tribal style eyebrows tattoo'd instead. And it looks awesome! I also have a few others on my arms and a big one on my back: + Show Spoiler [ VERY NSFW ] +

or just no tattoo on your ass. That would be for the best. In all honesty if you want a tattoo THINK hard about what you're getting. It isn't like writing on yourself in pen where it just washes out in a few days. Think about what you want and then keep it in the back of your mind. If 6 months later you still want that to be on your body permanently then I say go for it. Before I got my tattoo I had wanted what I got for about 2 years. I got it 2 years ago and I'm still very happy with it being there. What I like most about my tattoo is that it isn't visible unless I want to show it to people. I've known people for over a year and they had no idea that I had one which is fine by me. I didn't get it for anyone but myself, and you shouldn't get one unless you're doing it for yourself.

that tattoo is there once you get it unless you get it removed obviously but when you are 60 the tattoo will have already served its purpose but if you live till 90 would you still want to look at that tattoo?

This is mine, btw just telling you so you see that it is important that it's meaningful to you. It's a rough pull from The Fountain and that guy's arms. But the three rings are for the three female's I care for, my wife, my baby sister and my best friend. Later when I get out of the military and can continue it down a bit further there will be another ring along the forearm with a red band thru the middle. Within the upper 3 rings will be 13 nonlinear randomized bars going perpendicular to the rings and at this point it will be close to Scar from FMA. (not where I'm getting it from but it's honestly what it will look like) and under the forearm ring will be a symbol for creation. Left arm creates and protects that which I love type of business. Right arm is tough, I've flip flopped from scarring myself a symmetrical pattern of my left arm to symbolize the destruction or going with white ink tattoo to give it that look. but just notice the thought I've put into this, there's more but I think I've rambled on enough. I don't want to diss your idea of a tattoo just when I got one I wanted it to be completely original, something difficult (3 straight lines across a bicep is fuckin hard to do AND it hurt like a mother fucker going near that soft skin near your armpit, oh god did it hurt You know so it matters. It doesn't matter what your age is as long as you keep in decent shape and don't let yourself go a lot it will still look fine. At that point its pretty much worn off by then anyways.. IT doesn't look straight but that's cus im flexing :/ Btw OP are you short or something? Too short to live? wtf is that? and the too young to die won't really apply past 20 and is completely unoriginal. Also 18 and you think youd need parental consent to get a tattoo wtf is with canada?

Also, shave part of your head and put Day[9] on there, then let it grow over it. You can also go with Bisu<3 right above your groin area. Unrelated: What is the name of the "tender region" between your manlihood and your exit (or entrance, if that's how you roll)?
