My guess is giant isopods. They're in the same order as pill bugs, but aquatic which explains why their tails look more like lobsters. | ||

Well if you think about it the pacific is larger so it's mostly blank perfect for the edges as you are unlikely to cut anything important and likely to save more space. The more you get from the equator, the more distorted the map projection is. Looking at a normal worldmap using the Mercator projection it looks like Greenland is almost 2 times larger then India. While actually India is about 1,5 times larger in size then Greenland. + Show Spoiler + As far as orientation it just so happens north is up and south is down. And if you're on the south part of the world south is up and north is down. So it really depends on in which part of the world you are.
