Rent a small-ish hotel convention center? Find some random warehouse for rent that happens to have a nice Internet pipe? Let's head back to that idea and try to find some good solutions for venue, and then we can focus on everything else. For a basic attendance number to work with, it would be 20 minimum, ~40 max, based on what I can see in the thread. Also, I will officially volunteer myself to handle the logistics of getting power/heat/bandwidth for any venue that we find... if we enlist the hive mind here and find a freakin' suitable venue =)

http://www.ignitenetwork.com/ Their site doesn't say SC2 but I know that they have it now. The place is pretty big and the prices are reasonable. I know the suburbs aren't very accessible to alot of younger people in the city, college kids like me. And I don't mean to be rude, but getting TO the city is much easier than getting out of the city, What with the Metra and CTA. Just saying if something goes on here, you should get a big enough crowd. Just my two cents.

I would be down for that location, if they do in fact have SC2

I mean I could metra out there, but then what, I don't have a car or anything to get from train station to the LAN. On the other hand suburbs people can easily Metra in, and the CTA to the location very easily. Since it may be BYOC(bring your own computer), I didn't even think you won't have your own car - unless you have a laptop. In any case, how many people are in your situation(no car and want this event to happen downtown?). I have a PC and I will have to drive to get there(city or suburbs), but parking is free (mostly) in the suburbs, while in the city parking is a bi**h. If parking is not a hassle, yea, I can drive downtown. I wouldn't want to Metra in even if I had a laptop.

If Akuma is right and that PC cafe has SC2, then it isn't BYOC and it's not even an issue anymore

Yeah the place is pretty big, with a Rockband studio it is pretty cool, also holding this there would provide some other entertainment for people who need a little SC2 break, or if we tourny, get knocked out.
