I recommend a variety of weight lifting and cardio. You'll see the most progress with a lot of different work outs. Vary intensity, duration, weight, time, distance and activity. If you've got the money, a Crossfit gym is an awesome place to go. You work out in a class, so you feel more pressure to keep on the schedule and they do the programming for you. It's a really positive atmosphere and they will help you with all aspects of your goal whether that is fitness or nutrition. There are a lot of good looking people at my Crossfit gym and I would recommend it to anybody. Working out is only 20% of the issue though and it will mostly influence your body composition, but not your weight. Your diet is what you really need to get squared away. I don't know how much you understand about insulin, but it would be worth doing some research on it. Basically, insulin is a hormone that promotes storage in your body and it is affected by the carbs you eat. As you are trying to lose weight, you want to always eat low glycemic index carbs so that your insulin never spikes. Also, because you have that condition you really need to be careful with the amount and type of carbs you eat. Sugar is just a terrible idea as it is high glycemic index. Overall, I think you should just really limit the amount of carbs you eat. Can you give us an average day of food for you? I think if you write it down, you can start to figure out what the problem is. Also, you should try and cook your own food. Only stock up on food that is difficult to eat plain and requires cooking cause I find that I don't eat enough when I have to cook something. I'm sorry for the ramble, but don't get depressed by the big stuff. Yeah, it's a daunting task, but there are so many small things that you can focus on and they will all add up. Good luck!

Food is everywhere, being eaten by everyone, at least 3 times a day. How in god's name can someone get their mind off of it when it is so ingrained into every society on this planet?

@Greycone thanks a lot for the specific advice I should mix up my workouts more. Also @Cambium pretty much what a very simplistic explanation of what it does is make my eating super efficient. I get a lot more fat from food because my body responds with more absorption more quickly (for those who know more about this I know its not 100% accurate but I'm trying to keep it simple) @DivinO I am honored thanks man <3 Thanks again TL for being so supportive I really was in a bad place last night but despite having a migraine today (hence me posting at 12:30 PM) I have been in a way better mood and have had a much easier time. I know its only Day 1 so I might be jumping the gun but this has really helped me both to get my thoughts out and also to see the support.

Although I'm not overweight, I used to be really skinny and not muscular. I always wanted to be muscular but then I never got around to working out consistently enough to make a difference. I finally got motivation to make myself better when I met this girl that I really wanted to appear better to her. With that motivation, I worked out harder and more consistently than I have before. I eventually got to the point where I also improved some other things about me like hygene and character. Make sure it is a tangible goal though, the thing was that I actually had a decent chance with this girl and I eventually asked her out because of this. I think that if you get advice like eat 1200 calories a day, or to work out for two hours a day; you're not going to be able to do either one. Meet somewhere in the middle. Eat 2000 calories a day and work out for one hour a day. If you have a busy day, then you could eat only 1200 calories if you don't have time to work out. If you eat a bunch one day, then just work out for two hours. Good luck with all of your medical treatments too. I understand that it is very difficut to have to go through hospitals and surgeries, but hang in there!

Couple tips I have. Drink water. A lot of the time I get cravings to snack, but a bottle of water really helps me between meals at times. I don't know what your diet consists of. But I know eating protein and fiber help you feel full for longer. Good luck.
